Enertech Global BS/BT, Rev. B Models
Installaon and Operaons Manual
Enertech Global has set forth this policy to ensure installaons
of Enertech Global geothermal systems are done safely and
properly. The use of well-trained, qualied technicians helps
ensure that your system provides many years of comfort and
savings.
Special care should be taken in locang the unit. All vercal
units should be placed on a vibraon absorbing pad (air pad)
slightly larger than the base of the unit. Down ow units
should be placed on a non-combusble base. Flex connectors
should also be installed in between the ductwork and the unit.
All units should be located in an indoor area were the ambient
temperature will remain above 55°F and should be located
in a way that piping and duct work or other permanently
installed xtures do not have to be removed for servicing and
lter replacement
Electrical
All wiring, line and low voltage, should comply with the
manufacturer's recommendaons, The Naonal Electrical
Code, and all local codes and ordinances.
Thermostats should be installed approximately 54 inches o
the oor on an inside wall in the return air paern and where
they are not in direct sunlight at anyme.
Must be wired to the heat pump’s electric control box. A
special entrance knockout is provided below the thermostat
entrance knockout. A pump module connecon block,
connected to the master contactor, and circuit breaker is
provided to connect the Pump Module wiring.
Water heang is standard on all residenal units (units may
be ordered without). It uses excess heat, during both heang
and cooling cycles, to provide hot water for domesc needs. A
double wall desuperheater exchanger (coil) located between
the compressor and the reversing valve, extracts superheated
vapor to heat domesc water; while sasfying its heang
and cooling needs. The water circulaon pump comes pre-
mounted in all residenal units, but must be electrically
connected to the master contactor. Leaving it disconnected
ensures that the pump will not run without a water supply.
The Desuperheater package can make up to 60% (depending
on heat pump usage) of most domesc water needs, but a
water heater is sll recommended.
All copper tubes & ngs should be 5/8” O.D (1/2” nom)
minimum with a maximum of 50 separaon. Piping should
be insulated with 3/8” wall closed cell insulaon.
Copper is the only approved material for piping the
desuperheater.
When installing a geothermal heang and cooling unit, there
are several items the installer should consider before placing
the equipment.
1. Service Access and Installaon Space - Is there enough
space for service access? A general rule of thumb is
at least 2 to 2-1/2 feet in the front and air coil sides
depending on return ductwork size.
2. Unit Air Pad - All geothermal heang and cooling
equipment should be placed on either, a formed plasc
air pad, or a high density, closed cell polyethylene pad.
Down ow units should be placed on a non-combusble
base. This helps eliminate vibraon noise that could be
transmied through the oor.
The use of corner pads alone is not recommended.
3. Review - The installer has veried that all applicable
wiring, ductwork, piping, and accessories are correct and
on the job site.
Congure le or right side return and discharge air paern
prior to air handler unit installaon.

Note: In order to have an AHRI/Energy Star Cered
product, the unit must be installed with its cered match.
