WHERE TO ASSEMBLE YOUR CHEST
Assemble your chest on a clean and smooth surface, free of anything which may damage the laminated
surfaces. A clean, carpeted floor is ideal. If assembling on a workbench or table we suggest you cover it
with the carton the chest was packaged in.
Warning! Never leave hardware parts where children can reach them. Small parts may be a choking
hazard!

The Epsom Collection carries a 5 year guarantee against defective material or workmanship, excluding
misuse and normal wear and tear. Obviously, as this unit is customer-assembled we cannot guarantee
cabinet failure or damage from incorrect assembly. All claims need proof of purchase –to ensure this

Follow the assembly instructions carefully and take note of the precautions below.
■Avoid direct sunlight wherever possible.
■Keep cabinet in a dry place.
■Wipe off spilt liquids immediately.
■Avoid placing hot items directly on the surface.
■Clean with a damp cloth and buff dry with a soft dry cloth - microfibre is ideal.
■Do not allow nail polish, removers, deodorant or other damaging chemicals to come into
contact with the surface.

manufacturers directly, either via our website or our 0800 number. Do not call the store you bought the
cabinet from as they will be unable to help you. Note: You may find two pieces of board fitted across the
ends of the package. These are for packing purposes only and are not part of the cabinet.

CAM INSTALLATION & OPERATION GUIDE
The Cam and Connecting Bolt system is used to put your unit together. Below is an explanation of how this system
works.

DRAWER SLIDES GUIDE
Your pack will contain five sets of Metal Drawer Slides. These are bundled together with adhesive tape. Each
set comprises of 4 components. Undo the tape on one set at a time and separate the parts.
LEFT HAND PART (DL) RIGHT HAND PART (DR)
The Drawer Slide components shown above are attached to the drawer. They have the letters DL or DR
stamped on them to indicate left hand or right hand components. Put these parts aside for attaching to the
drawer later on.
LEFT HAND PART (CL) RIGHT HAND PART (CR)
The Drawer Slide components shown above are to be attached to the cabinet. They have letters CL or CR
stamped on them to indicate left hand or right hand components. You will need these for steps 2and 3.

INSTALL THE HARDWARE
STEP 1 - TOP
Lay the Top of the unit finished side down on a clean, clear surface.
Screw six H1 Connecting Bolts into the holes as indicated in the drawing below

STEP 2 - LH END
Lay the LH End on a smooth clean surface with holes facing upwards.
Attach four LH Drawer Slides (CL) to the LH End using the H4 Drawer Slide Screws. Use the holes as
indicated in the diagram below - each slide requires two screws. Ensure that the end of the Slide with
the wheel faces towards the finished edge of the LH End.
Insert two H2 Large Cams as shown in diagram. Ensure the arrow on the top of the Cam points towards
the top edge of the End.
Push two H15 Dowels into the top edge of the End.
Screw four H1 Connecting Bolts into the holes indicated on the diagram below.

STEP 3 –RH END
Lay the RH End on a smooth clean surface with holes facing upwards.
Attach four RH Drawer Slides (CR) to the RH End using the H4 Drawer Slide Screws. Use the holes as
indicated in the diagram below - each slide requires two screws. Ensure that the end of the Slide with
the wheel faces towards the finished edge of the End.
Insert two H2 Large Cams as shown in diagram. Ensure the arrow on the top of the Cam points towards
the top edge of the End.
Push two H15 Dowels into the top edge of the End.
Screw four H1 Connecting Bolts into the holes indicated on the diagram below.

STEP 4 - DIVISION
Install the two H2 Large Cams into the Division as shown below –ensure the arrow points towards the
top edge of the Division.
Insert the three H15 Dowels 2 x in the top and 1 x in the bottom.
Screw the last LH Drawer Slide CL on using the H4 Drawer Slide Screws. Ensure that the end of the
Slide with the wheel faces towards the laminated edge of the Divison.
Turn the Division over and screw the RH Drawer Slide CR on using the remaining H4 Drawer Slide Screws
STEP 5 - RAILS and TOEBOARDS
Your pack will contain four boards the same size:
1 x Back Rail
1 x Bottom Rail
1 x Rear Toeboard
1 x Front Toeboard
Install two H2 Cams into each piece as indicated H2 Large Cam
Push the H15 Dowels into each end of the boards as indicated. H15 Dowel
Back Rail x 2 / Rear Toeboard –no finish, two centre holes
Front Toeboard –black finish on one side

ASSEMBLE THE UNIT
STEP 6 - RAILS AND TOEBOARDS
Lay the LH End finished side down on a clean surface that is free of anything that may damage the
black finish. A clean carpeted floor is the most ideal for this.
Position the Rails and Toeboards over the Connecting Bolts installed in the End –take note of the
drawing below to get them in the correct place. The Back Rail, Bottom Rail and the Rear Toeboard
are interchangeable –the Front Toeboard has one finished surface, ensure this faces towards the
Front Edge so the cams cannot be seen when the unit is completed.
Make sure the Large Cams face towards the top of the End.
Tighten all four Cams in a clockwise direction to lock Rails and Toeboards to the LH End. The Large
Cams should turn at least a ¼ of a turn.

STEP 7 - ATTACH RH END
Turn the LH End with the Rails and Toeboards attached onto its back edge.
Fit the RH End to the Rails and Toeboards as shown in the drawing below.
Lock the RH End to the Rails and Toeboards by tightening all the Cams in the Rails and Toeboards in a
clockwise direction
STEP 8 - DIVISION TO TOP
Lay the Top on a clean, clear surface.
Attach the Division to the Top by fitting it down over the Connecting Bolts installed in the Top. Make
sure the laminated edge of the Division faces the front of the Top.
Tighten the two Large Cams in the Division in a clockwise direction to lock the Division to the Top.

STEP 9 - ATTACH TOP TO ENDS
Turn the Top with the Division attached onto it’s back edge. Fit it onto the top of the Ends as shown
below. The Connecting Bolts in the Top will fit down into the Cams in the Ends.
Turn all four Cams in a clockwise direction to lock the Top to the Ends.
Use the H5 Large Screw to attach the Division to the Back Rail as shown below. The H5 Large Screw
will screw up through a hole in the Back Rail and into a hole in the Division. Before doing this you may
need to tap the rail upwards a bit to ensure that the H15 Dowel fits into the hole in the Back Rail.
Tap the 4 x Nail on Furniture Glides into the bottom of the Ends. Space them about 20mm in from the
edge.

STEP 10 - BACK PANEL
Turn the chest onto its front edge. Make sure the surface is clear and free of anything that may
damage the black finish.
Your Back Panel is made up of two pieces:
-1 x Top Panel - groove on long edge
-1 x Bottom Panel - tounge on long edge
Fit the Top Back Panel with the groove and handle holes into place in the top half of the unit as shown
below.
Partly tap a couple of nails into the corners to hold it in place.
Fit the Bottom Panel with the tongue to the other panel. Make sure the panels are fitted tightly and
the Ends of the chest are straight before nailing completely into place. Space the nails about 100mm
apart.

SMALL DRAWERS
Your Epsom Chest has 2 x Small Drawers.
STEP 11 - INSTALL HARDWARE / DRAWERS
Install the hardware in the drawer parts as shown below.

STEP 12 - ASSEMBLE THE SMALL DRAWERS
Lay the Drawer Front face down on a smooth, clean surface.
Attach the LH and RH Drawer Sides by fitting them into place over the Connecting Bolts installed in the
Drawer Front.
Turn the Small Cams clockwise to lock the Drawer Sides in place.
Slide the Drawer Bottom into place in the grooves in the Drawer Sides and Drawer Front.
Fit the Drawer Back into place between the Drawer Sides. The grove in the Drawer Back will fit over the
end of the Drawer Bottom.
Secure the Drawer Sides to the Drawer Back with four H9 Screws as shown below.

STEP 13 - ATTACH THE DRAWER SLIDES
Turn the drawer upside-down as shown and attach the Drawer Slides (DL and DR) with the four H6
Small Woodscrews as shown below. Ensure that the ends of the slides without the wheels are hard up
against the back of the drawer front. Each slide requires two screws. H6 Small Screw
Note: The top drawers of your cabinet are different. You will have a RH and LH drawer –they will sit crooked
and overlap if not the correct way around. If this occurs, simply swap the drawers around.
LARGE DRAWERS
Your Epsom Chest has three large drawers - these are constructed slightly different from the two small top
drawers - please follow these instructions to ensure you assemble them correctly.

STEP 14 - INSTALL HARDWARE / LARGE DRAWERS
Install the hardware in the Drawer parts as shown below.
Note: Be sure that the arrow on the Small Cam points to the end of the drawer side nearest it.

STEP 15 - SIDES AND BOTTOM
Lay the Drawer Front face down on a smooth, clean surface.
Attach the LH and RH Drawer Sides by fitting them into place over the Connecting Bolts installed in the
Drawer Front.
Turn the Small Cams clockwise to lock the Drawer Sides in place.
Slide the Drawer Bottom into place in the grooves in the Drawer Sides and Drawer Front.

STEP 16 - ATTACH DRAWER BACK
Fit the Drawer Bottom Support into place underneath the Drawer Bottom, the H1 Connecting Bolt in
the centre back of the Drawer Front will fit up into the H3 Small Cam.
Turn the H3 Small Cam in a clockwise direction to lock the Drawer Bottom Support in place.
Fit the Drawer Back into place between the Drawer Sides. The grove in the Drawer Back will fit over the
end of the Drawer Bottom.
Secure the Drawer Sides to the Drawer Back with four H9 Screws as shown below.

STEP 17 - ATTACH DRAWER SLIDES
Turn the drawer upside-down as shown and attach the Drawer Slides (DR and DL) with the four H6 Small
Woodscrews as shown below. Ensure that the ends of the slides without the wheels are hard up against the
back of the drawer front. Each slide requires two screws. H6 Small Screw
STEP 18 - FIT DRAWERS INTO CABINET
Turn the drawer over.
Attach the Bar Handles using the screws provided with the handles.
Complete this step for each Drawer.
Fit the drawers into the cabinet. Start with the top drawers and work your way down.
NOTE: The two top drawers on your Chest are not the same. You have a left hand (green mark on the back of
the Drawer Front) and a right hand (red mark on the back of the Drawer Front) drawer. When installing these in
the cabinet, take care to get them around the correct way. (If the drawer fronts overlap when they are installed
please remove them and swap the whole drawer
over.)
Angle the drawer slightly to ensure
that the wheel at the back of the
drawer slide goes behind the front
wheel on the cabinet slide. Then lift
the drawer up and slide it into the
channel of the drawer slide.
