EPSON’s new ActionPC 2000 and ActionTower 2000 are both lull-featured personal computers that
have been designed to capitalize on the high performance and low cost of the Cyrix 486SLC2/50
microprocessor. In addition to a clock-doubled CPU, both systems feature performance
enhancements such as local bus video, built-in fax/modem, and shadow RAM for system and video
BIOS. The ActionPC 2000 comes in a desktop configuration, while the ActionTower 2000 is a
minitower unit configured as a multimedia system. Both the ActionPC 2000 and the ActionTower
2000 Multimedia are fully integrated, full-featured systems that offer state-of-the-art features and
exceptional value. They offer the best performance/value ratio available in the industry.

What are the differences between the ActionPC 2000 and the
ActionTower 2000 Multimedia?
The ActionPC 2000 and the ActionTower 2000 Multimedia are both full-featured personal computers
utilizing the high performance and low cost of the Cyrix 486SLC2/50 microprocessor. The difference
is that the ActionPC 2000 is a desktop configuration, and the ActionTower 2000 Multimedia is a
minitower configured as a multimedia system. The ActionTower 2000 Multimedia includes all of the
features of the ActionPC 2000, plus the following:
l Minitower case
l One additional 3.5” external drive bay
l Two additional internal 3.5” drive bays
l Double-speed CD-ROM drive
l 16-bit stereo sound card
l Speakers
l Multimedia software bundle pre-installed

What is a local bus system?
Local bus provides a new way for the CPU to communicate with peripherals. The original ISA
expansion bus was designed to run at 8MHz. As processor speeds increased to 50MHz, and faster,
the bus speed stayed at 8MHz. Local bus is designed to transmit 32 bits of data at the local speed of a
PC’s processor. A PC with a local bus normally uses this high-speed circuit for display adapters or
disk controllers, where speed is most crucial. Slower conventional expansion slots are used to
communicate with the modem and sound card, where speed is not crucial.
What is a multimedia system?
A multimedia system comes with a sound card and CD-ROM drive installed, and has outstanding
sound and graphics capabilities. A computer CD can store vast amounts of information because it
uses light to record data in a form that’s more tightly packed than conventional magnetic media. A
multimedia system allows software to combine sound and graphics simultaneously, including video,
film clips and animation. Multimedia systems enhance learning and entertainment by involving more
of your senses. The ActionTower 2000 systems come in a minitower configuration with multimedia
equipment and software.
How does a customer take advantage of EPSON’s On-Site warranty service?
The ActionPC 2000 and the ActionTower 2000 Multimedia systems come with a one year
On-Site warranty. If your system needs servicing, simply call EPSON’s toll-free number,
[phone], for a referral to the nearest EPSON Authorized On-Site Servicer. On-Site service
is typically available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST, Monday through Friday.
