- Please read these instructions carefully
before installation and commissioning
and hand over to the customer for re-
tention.
General safety information
Warning!
Risk of electric shock!
Never connect several 48V DC SELV
power supply units in series!
The voltages would add up and become
hazardous.
Warning!
Fire hazard!
- The maximum current load of the
track and accessories is 10A.
- The power supply units must not
be covered with insulating materi-
als as they may overheat. Observe the
minimum clearances when installing in
closed rooms (Fig. 2).
- To avoid short circuits always fit the
free end of the track with the end plate
(accessory).
Attention!
- The electrical contractor is responsible
for checking the electrical, mechanical
and thermal compatibility between the
track system and the luminaires fixed
to it.
- Installation requires specialist electri-
cal knowledge and must only be carried
out by an approved specialist.
- When installing, always observe the
national installation and accident pre-
vention regulations.
Intended use
- The power supply units are only
approved for use in dry indoor areas.
- Installation and operation is only per-
mitted together with track, luminaires,
adapters and accessories tested and
approved by ERCO.
Preconditions
The following components/accessories
are the minimum required for the con-
struction of a simple Minirail 48V track
system (Fig. 3):
Track
Live end
End plate
Power supply unit
Fixing material (on site) and/or fixing
accessories
Electrical connection (Fig. 5)
- Installation of the electrical Minirail
48V track and accessories must not be
carried out under load. Always switch
off the power supply units before carry-
ing out installation work.
- In order to avoid interference you
should avoid secondary-side switching,
i.e. between the power supply unit and
the live end.
Line dimensioning
- The cable length between the power
supply unit and the live end must not
exceed 10m.
- Connection with a 2x 2.5mm2cable.
If the distance to the track is shorter, a
smaller cross-section may possibly be
selected.
- When inserted laterally into the live
end, the outer diameter of the connec-
tion cable must not exceed 10.6mm.
Flexible cables
Flexible cables can be connected with-
out further measures. To do this, open
the terminal with a small screwdriver
before inserting the conductor.
75W or 120W power supply units
To avoid interference, do not connect
these power supplies in parallel!
Warning!
Fire hazard!
Never connect power supply units in
series because the voltages add up and
may reach a dangerous 96V and the
luminaires may also be damaged.
- Always check the system for short
circuits before switching on.
Operating instructions
Luminaires do not work
Cause: too many luminaires mounted
Measure: remove individual luminaires
Cause: short circuit in the system. Pow-
er supply unit goes on malfunction.
Measure:
-eliminate short circuit / remove excess
luminaires.
-Disconnect the supply of the power
supply unit and switch it on again.
Switching off and on again may also be
necessary if a luminaire with a load of
<5W is installed on a live track.
Cleaning
Always clean carefully using a soft
cloth and a commercially available,
ph-neutral, alcohol-free, non-abrasive
cleaning agent.
Disposal
In accordance with EU Directive
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment), luminaires must not be
disposed of with other household waste.
At the end of their life, luminaires must
be taken to the appropriate local facility
available for the disposal or recycling of
electronic products.
