1. Introduction
Dear customer, we thank you for purchasing the Solar Globelight.
With this Solar Light you have purchased a product that complies with the
latest and most up-to-date technology.

To preserve this st nd rd nd in order to m int in s fety
you must dhere to the use instructions!
2. Security Instructions
In the event of ny problems rising or d m ge occurring
from not following these instructions, the w rr nty is dee-
med c ncelled. The m nuf cturer will not be held responsi-
ble for ny cl ims or d m ges rising from the misuse of
this product.
- For safety reasons and in order to maintain standards (CE) you are pro-
hibited from altering or changing any component in the product.
- Please follow the instructions very carefully.
- For commercial applications due care and attention must be paid to the
Health and Safety Standards in your jurisdiction.
3. Intended use
The solar PIR-spotlight is suited for the illumination of (door) bells, signs,
pathways, balconies, terraces and much more. It is designed for the year-
round outdoor use. The product is splashproof and must not be exposed
to a direct water jet respectively immersed in the water.
4. Function
4 high-performance LEDs are installed in the front part of the lamp. The
LEDs are switched on at darkness and they will give light with low lumino-
sity. If the motion detector registers a change of heat, then the LEDs will
give light with a higher luminosity for approx. 35 seconds.
The solar module works as a twilight sensor. The spotlight is activated if
the solar module is dark.
The solar spotlight may be mounted on a pole/railing or screwed to the
wall. The product is designed for use in private households.
The solar spotlight is activated via a switch on the bottom side.
Note: Please make sure that the solar module is installed directed to the
south and that shadows are avoided. The product cannot be used if instal-
led directed to the north. In winter, the solar module shall always be free of
snow. The battery pack has to be exchanged at every two years at the
latest.
5. Assembly nd ctiv tion
1. Please carefully take all parts out of the package and unpack the acces-
sories.
2. Choose an appropriate place of installation for the solar PIR-spotlight.
It may be mounted on a pole or railing or screwed to the wall.
3. Inst ll tion on pole or r iling.
Remove the assembly panel on the back side of the solar PIR spotlight
sideways. The spotlight may be mounted by means of the metal bracket
and the butterfly nut.
4. Inst ll tion of the LED spotlight on the w ll
- Remove the back panel by sliding it sideways.
- ount the back panel with 2 screws and, from the side, slide the spot-
light onto the bracket in the desired angle. The spotlight is secured by
the enclosed plastic stopper. This stopper is simply pressed into the
hole.
5. Now switch on the solar PIR spotlight via the slide switch on the bottom
side (ON).
The spotlight is now ctiv ted.
Note: During the winter months the duration of illumination will generally
be shorter. If the lamp should not yet start working on the first evening,
please wait for a sunny day.

- Batteries must not be discarded into domestic waste.
- The consumer is legally required to return batteries
after use, e.g. to public collecting centers or to battery
distributors.
- Contaminant-containing batteries are labeled with the
sign “crossed-out trashcan“ and one of the chemical
symbols. Used batteries should be disposed environ-
mentally friendly and should not be discarded into
domestic waste. Your dealer is legally required to take
back old batteries.

Rech rge ble b ttery notes
- Rechargeable batteries should not be played with by children. Never
leave rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed
by children or pets.
- Rechargeable batteries must never be short-circuited, disassembled
or thrown into fire. This leads to a danger of explosion!
- Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries can cause chemical
burns when they come into contact with skin. For this reason, please
make use of suitable protective gloves.
- Rechargeable batteries should only be replaced by structurally iden-
tical rechargeable batteries from the same manufacturer. Normal bat-
teries must not be used since these are not rechargeable.
- ake sure the rechargeable batteries are inserted with the correct
polarity.
- For long periods of time of non-use (for example, storage), remove
the inserted rechargeable batteries to avoid damages via the leaking
rechargeable batteries.
Dispos l:
Dear customer,
please cooperate in avoiding waste. When you intend to dispose of the
product in future, please consider that it contains valuable raw materials
suited for recycling.
Therefore, do not dispose it of with domestic waste but bring it to a col-
lection point for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equip-
ment.

6. Exch nge of the b ttery
The capacity of the battery pack will diminish after one to two years and it
has to be exchanged. The battery pack (Art.-No: 901029, Ni h 3.6 V/ 900
mAh) is available retail or in the Internet under www.esotec.de.
1. Unscrew the two screws at the side
of the housing and remove the
cover and the gasket.
2. Remove the battery pack from the
battery compartment and unplug
the connector.
3. Take an identical in construction
battery pack and plug in the connector of the battery pack with correct
polarity.
4. Now close the housing in reverse order.
Note: Used batteries or accumulators must be disposed of in a non-pollu-
ting way and do not belong into the domestic waste. Your dealer is requi-
red by law to take back old accumulators.
7. M lfunctions
The l mp is not switched on t d rkness
- Is the spotlight activated/switched on?
- A source of extraneous light (e.g. street lamp) simulates daylight on the
solar module and prevents the activation. Place the lamp at a darker
place.

- Battery pack inserted?
- Spotlight switched on?
- Battery weak or defective? Exchange of the battery pack every two
years at the latest!
