Introduction
Congratulations on purchasing your Eviant Portable Digital TV.
On June 12, 2009 conversion to the digital television broadcasting
standard occurred all throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Your portable digital television is designed to pick up the new
digital signals (ATSC) as well as the older analog signals (NTSC).
Use your portable digital TV at work or take it on vacation and relax with your favorite TV
programs anywhere. Please read these instructions carefully to get the most from your new
Eviant digital TV.
Important Safety Information

Caution: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover or back.
No user serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
This device is not designed to be used in motion. To avoid losing the digital
signal, place the unit on a stable surface that is free from movement. This unit
will not reliably pick up signals in a moving vehicle.
Never store your TV in temperatures less than -5°F or greater than 120°F.
This unit contains a non-user-replaceable lithium-ion battery. Do not dispose of
your TV by fire or with hazardous or flammable materials. Contact your local
waste disposal department for information regarding proper disposal of
lithium-ion batteries.
Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals (such as alcohol,
benzene, thinners, etc.) or detergents to clean your TV. This could damage the
unit or cause a fire.
Do not damage the DC power adapter cord by bending, twisting, pulling, or
heating. Do not use the plug if it is loose as it may cause a fire or electric shock.
Do not place any heavy items on the power cord. Do not allow the power cord
to be crimped as it may cause electric shock or fire.

Warning: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or damage, do not expose this
product to rain or moisture. Do not use your TV in high explosive areas as the
unit may generate sparks.
Do not handle the TV with wet hands while it is being charged. It may cause an
electric shock or seriously damage your TV.
Maintain well ventilated conditions around the product. Do not put product flat
on a bed or block the ventilation openings in any way.
Do not use near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, on top
of electronics devices, or other areas that produce heat.
Spilled beverages are a common problem. Do not locate liquid containers, or
items that can accumulate condensation such as cold beverages, in a position
where liquid can spill or drip on the TV.
Only use attachments / accessories specified by the manufacturer.
Unplug this device during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of
time.
Handle the antenna with care. If it gets bent it will not telescope back into the
TV properly.
It is recommended to place the TV in its protective pouch before placing it in a
pocket or purse to minimize the possibility of damage to the screen, antenna or
accidentally turning on the power.
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the
device has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is
damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the device, the
device has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has
been dropped.

Antenna
Your TV is supplied with a built-in telescoping antenna that will provide good reception in most
situations. Be sure to keep the TV stationary when trying to receive a
signal. Any movement of the TV can result in loss of the digital signal.
Handle the antenna with extreme care to avoid bending it.
Your Eviant T4 is also supplied with an external antenna that can be
located a short distance away from the TV to improve reception. Connect
the external antenna to the antenna connector and the “ANT in”.
The signal strength depends on the location of reception
Using AC Power Adapter
Your TV is supplied with an AC Adapter for charging the battery and for powering the unit.
Insert the mini USB jack into the TV and then connect the adapter into a wall socket. The power
LED indicator will display as follows:
LED Indicator Status
Red flashing Charging battery with power switch off
Red Battery fully charged with power switch off
Green Power on without charging
Orange flashing Battery is charging while power is on
Using Car Adaptor
The TV unit is supplied with a Car Adaptor for charging the battery in a vehicle.
To o Use: Connect the car adaptor into the 12V cigarette lighter socket in a vehicle.
Attention
Do not operate the unit while driving a vehicle.
Place the unit in a proper position for viewing.
Unplug the unit from the Car Adaptor when starting the vehicle.
Rechargeable Battery
Your portable TV device comes with a built-in rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. Charge the
battery fully before use. Charging time is normally about 4.5-5 hours. A fully charged battery
delivers about 2-2.5 hours of use. When the battery is weak, an indication symbol will appear on
the LCD screen and the unit will power off automatically after a few minutes. When this occurs,
turn the power switch to OFF and recharge the TV with the power adapter.
Connecting to Earphones
When connecting earphones the speakers will turn off automatically.
Caution:
Loud volume can damage your hearing. Decrease the volume before
inserting the earphones, then raise the volume back to a comfortable
level.

Quick Auto Scan
Press OK / AutoScan button and hold for 3 seconds. Auto Scan
Setup Wizard will display. Select the antenna type and then go
to the next step, Quick Auto Scan will start.
To exit during scanning, press Menu button and hold
for 3 seconds.
Display Options
Press MENU to enter the setup menu. Use the menu to adjust the picture, audio, channel and
other functions. Navigate the menus with VOL and VOL . Press MENU again to go back or
exit.
Picture Menu
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select.
Press the CH button to enter into Picture Menu.
Press the CH CH buttons to select the desired sub-menu.
Zoom Mode
Press the CH CH buttons to select Zoom Mode.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select Cinema, Normal, Wide, Zoom.
Color Mode
Press the CH CH buttons to select Color Mode.
Press the VOL button to enter the Color Mode Selection
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select Personal, Normal,
Warm, Cool these four options.
In each option you can press CH CH to select R (Red),
G (Green), B (Blue).
Press the VOL VOL buttons to adjust the color values.

Picture Mode
Press the CH CH buttons to select Picture Mode.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select Personal, Standard, Dynamic or Soft picture
quality.
Contrast / Brightness / Sharpness / Tint / Color
Press the CH CH buttons to select Contrast/Brightness/Sharpness/Tint/Color.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to adjust the value.
Press MENU button to return to the previous menu.
Power level
Display the power level of built in battery.
Audio Menu
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select.
Press the CH button to enter into Audio Menu.
Press the CH CH buttons to select the desired sub-menu.
Audio Language
Press the CH CH buttons to select Audio Language. This is your preferred language that
will be chosen when a station transmits in more than one language. It applies to all channels,
including English, French, and Spanish.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to make your selection.
Note: This item is only available in ATSC signal mode.
Balance
Press the CH CH buttons to select Balance.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to adjust the value.

Time Menu
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select.
Press the CH button to enter into Time Menu.
Press the CH CH buttons to select the desired sub-menu.
Sleep Time
Press the CH CH buttons to select the Sleep Mode.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to set the auto shut-off timer.
Note: The Timer has a tolerance. For example, if you set sleep time to 5min., the unit
probably shut-off after 5min and 5 second.
Time Zone
Press the CH CH buttons to select the Time Zone.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select the options which
Include Alaska, Hawaii, Atlantic, Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific.
Note: This item is only available in ATSC signal mode.
Daylight Savings Time
Press the CH CH buttons to select the DST.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select ON or OFF.
Time Format
Press the CH CH buttons to select the Time Format.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select 12-hour or
24-hour time display.
Clock
Display current time automatically from the digital signal.
Note: The clock will synchronize with the signal, it depends on signal’s support.

Setup Menu
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select

Menu Language
Press the CH CH buttons to select Menu Language and
press the VOL VOL buttons to select desired language.
Menu Transparency
Press the CH CH buttons to select Transparency and press the VOL VOL buttons to
change transparency value of menu.
On Screen Display Timeout
Press the CH CH buttons to OSD Timeout.
This is the time that the menus remain on the screen.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select 5, 15, 30, 45, or 60 seconds.
Closed Caption
Press the CH CH buttons to select Closed Caption and press the VOL button or
OK button to enter the submenu.
Press CH CH buttons to select desired submenu.

In the Closed Caption Submenu:
CC Mode
Press the CH CH buttons to select CC Mode.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select the desired option.
Basic Selection
Press the CH CH buttons to select Basic Selection.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, Text1, Text2, Text3, and
Text4.
Advanced Selection
Press the CH CH buttons to select Advanced Selection and press the VOL VOL
buttons to select Service1, Service2, Service3, Service4, Service5 or Service6.
Note: this item is only enabled while receiving an ATSC signal.
Option
Press the CH CH buttons to select Advanced Selection.
Press the VOL button to enter sub-menu.
Press the CH CH buttons to select items.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to adjust.
Restore Default
Press the CH CH buttons to select Restore Default.
Press the VOL / OK button to enter the menu.
To reset all settings including channel settings to factory
defaults, press VOL VOL buttons to select “YES”.
Caution: This will erase all settings and channel scans.
To keep current settings, select “NO” and press the OK
button to confirm.
Press MENU button to return.

Channel Menu
Press MENU to pull up the on screen setup menus
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select. Channel
Press the CH button to move down into channel menu.
Press the CH CH buttons to select the desired sub-menu.
Air/Cable
Press the CH CH buttons to select Air/Cable.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select options:
Air or Cable.
Note: Your TV is designed to work with an antenna or the
signal from a cable system. For cable, connect the cable
signal to the external antenna jack using an appropriate
micro RF connector (not supplied).
Auto Scan
Press the CH CH buttons to select Auto Scan.
Press the VOL button to enter Auto Scan Menu.
Press the VOL button to auto scan channel.
The unit will automatically memorize the available channels in sequence.
When completed, the unit will tune to the first scanned channel.
To stop scanning, press MENU.

Show/Hide
Use this function to turn off channels that you don’t
want to see as you go through the channels.
Press the CH CH buttons to select Show/Hide.
Press the VOL button to enter Show/Hide Menu.
Press the CH CH buttons to select channel.
Press OK button to confirm which channel to show or
hide.
“√”means this channel is selected to show.
Channel No.
Use this feature to select which channel to customize
using the Channel Label function below.
Press the CH CH buttons to select Channel No.
Press the VOL VOL buttons to select which channel
to play.
ChannelLabel
Use this feature to customize the channel names.
Press the CH CH buttons to select Channel Label.
Press the VOL button to enter the menu.
Within this menu, press the VOL VOL buttons to highlight position and press the CH
CH buttons to select the desired character or symbol to edit the Channel name.
Press the MENU button to return to the previous menu.

Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer service, review the steps below to solve simple problems.
If you still suspect something wrong with this unit, immediately turn the power off, disconnect
the power adapter from the unit, and contact Eviant Customer Service.
Never try to repair the unit yourself.

Other possibilities
Static or other external interference may cause the unit to function abnormally. In order to reset
normal status, turn off the unit and unplug the power supply and try again. If the problem is still
present, turn off the unit, disconnect the power supply and consult a qualified technician.
