in every step: the very first configuration of the Gateway, the association of smart devices,

EUGENIO ANDTHEAPP
Eugenio is an innovative Home Gateway Manager (HGM) which interacts with Z-Wave devices. It can
be controlled and configured by means of a smartphone APP, which permits to configure
automations for your home.
The HGM supports S2 protocol of Z-Wave, that is it can include securely devices which supports S2
protocol

ABOUTSAFETY

The section must be read and understood before any usage of Eugenio, for instance
the information about safety. This document is an addendum to the current
regulations related to safety and security of electrical devices.
Read this Section for
information about safe
usage of Eugenio
Eugenio is è Gateway which generates and uses radio frequencies. The device has beend implemented by means of state-of-the-art
technologies and by adhering to currnt government regulations safety. However, the interaction with other devices is not totally excluded
during the operation live of the Gateway.
The Gateway must be installed at a safe distance from medical devices and measurment tools as well. The interaction among different
electrical machineries could lead to interferences which could impact on the correct behaviour of medical appliances or alter the
measurements of electronic toolboxes.
No modification of the device si allowed.
The Gateway can be used by users with a minumum knowledge of basic Informatics. Please, follow the instruction of this Manual.
In case of anomalies or incorrect behaviour, take out the power cable, otherwise injuries to people or damages to nearby things can happen.
Supply voltage must be within the range dictated by this Manual and expressed also on the chassis of te device. Outside the allowed voltage
range, fires and explosion risks increase. The isolation grade between the supply power adapter and the electrical grid must adhere to the
specifications of IEC 61558-2-6 document.
Opening the hub and accessing to its internal parts is in no way allowed

ADVICES

Read the following advice before using the Gateway
▪Carefully read the instruction of this Manual.
▪Use the original power adapter provided with the Gateway.
▪Do not use the Gateway close to heat sources.
▪Keep children out of the Gateway usage
▪Do not open the device. In case of anomalies, please contact the Customer Service of Evolvere.
▪Disconnect the power adapter before cleaning operations. Do not use liquids for cleaning. Use a simple rag.
▪In order to avoid malfunctions of the Gateway, observe following points
▪Keep it away from water, humidity or any conductive objects during the normal operations.
▪Do not handle the device with wet hands.
▪Do not expose the device to hot temperatures. The devices is supposed to work under usual ambient temperatures.
▪Handle carefully in order to avoid mechanical or electrical damages to its parts.
▪Avoid any movements when the devices is powered on.
▪In order to avoid electrostatic shocks, handle the device from the borders.
▪Before using the power adapter, follow these instruction to avoid hazards Do not disassemble the device, and do not touch the screws.
▪The powe adapter is supposed to be used indoor and not outdoor.
▪Do not expose the power adapter to rain or other liquids. In case of accidental contact with liquids, shutdown the device. Liquids and humidity
can create short-circuits and damage the whole device.
▪Do not use detergent. A dry cloth is enough. For serious case of dirtyness, smoothly use a light detergent.
▪Admitted temparatures are within the range -10°C / +50°C, and humidity must be under 75%.

ENVIROMENT REQUIREMENTS
•Ambient dust can damage the device.
•Do not use the device upon not-flat surfaces, such as sofas, beds, and so on. The ground surface must be stable and flat.
•Do not use the device within areas with risk of explosion or fire.
•The Gateway must be installed at a safe distance from medical devices and measurment tools as well. The interaction
•among different electrical machineries could lead to interferences which could impact on the correct behaviour of
•medical appliances or alter the measurements of electronic toolboxes.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
•For a safe functioning, the electric system of the home must contain the ground pole connection.
•The electric line must be stable and free of electrical noises and interferences of any type.
•Power the device with supply power as specified in the external label.
•Do not bend the power cable with objects and take care to not expose the power cable around free walk areas.
•No objects or person should stepped on the power cable.
•If liquids accidentally enter the internal part of the device, power off the device by pulling out the wall plug and call the technical support.
•In order to avoid short-circuit, do not open the chassis.
•Pull out the power adapter if the device is not used for extended periods of time.
WARNING! Do not power on the device if the top cover is open or not properly fixed to the body of the device.

sulla salute e favorisce il reimpiego e/o riciclo dei materiali di cui è composta l’apparecchiatura.
Lo smaltimento abusivo del prodotto da parte del detentore comporta l’applicazione delle

DESCRIPTION
Eugenio kit contains the gateway and the power adapter
On the top of the case of Eugenio there are 4 leds:

Turns on when the gateway is powered on. It starts blinking when the gateway is
going to power off
Turns on when the gateway communicates with the Cloud.
Turns on at every Z-Wave operation (inclusion, exclusion,etc.)
Turns on when the 3G modem is active.

This button control the reboot of the device (see next page).
This button controls Z-Wave operations, such as inclusion, exclusion, etc. See next
page.
This button starts the Factory Reset of the gateway and the Z-Wave module. The
gateway will switch to Access Point mode
This is the USB power in port. The power cable must be inserted in this port.
This the port for the network cable.

ON/OFF BUTTON Z-Wave BUTTON
This button allows the power on/off and reboot of
Eugenio:
▪Gateway powered on (POWER LED ON): when
pressed once, reboot starts.
▪Gateway powered on (POWER LED ON): a long
press will start blinking of the LED. When the
led stops blink, release the button and the
gateway will shut down.
▪Gateway powered off (POWER LED OFF): a
short press will boot the gateway.
This button allows manual operation on
the Z-Wave network, useful in case of
unavailability of the software APP.
-INCLUSION: press for 3 seconds, the Z-Wave LED
starts blinking. The gateway is ready for inclusion Z-
Wave devices.
-EXCLUSION: after a long press for at least 6 seconds,
the LED stays ON.
-CANCEL:to cancel INCLUSION/EXCLUSION
operation, press once.
The Z-Wave LED:
-blinks quickly during INCLUSION;
-stays ON during EXCLUSION;
-stays oFF: no on-going Z-Wave operation is
present;
-blinks randomly: normal state whenever a Z-Wave
communication takes happen.
RESET BUTTON
The button allows the following functions.
- Factory reset1: a long press for more than 10
seconds starts hard reset of all the configurations.
- Access Point mode: a long press of 3 seconds
starts the Access Point Mode of the gateway (the
gateway will act as an open WiFi Access Point)
1: If this controller is the primary controller for your network, the factory reset operation will result in the nodes in your network being orphaned and it will be necessary after the execution of reset operation to
exclude and re-include all of the nodes in the network. If this controller is being used as a secondary controller in the network, use this procedure to reset this controller only in the event that the network
primary controller is missing or otherwise inoperable

MICRO USB PORT ETHERNET RJ45 PORT
This is the power supply port. Eugenio can be used also without a WiFi connection. This port
connect the gateway to the local LAN.
WARNING! If you change the type of connection (WiFi or
Ethernet) Eugenio tries to restart Internet connection and the
service could be unavailable for some second.

ACTIVATEYOURGATEWAY
1. Connect Eugenio to the power adapter. The POWER ON/OFF LED will turn on.
2. If you have not a WiFI connection, connect the gateway by means of the RJ45 cable to your
LAN.
3. Download the Eugenio APP (Play store or Apple store)and follow the instructions

Open the App and click on ‘Registrati’
Click on ‘Procedi’
Scan the QR code placed on the buttom of the chassis of Eugenio
Type in your Client Code, your email, password
Check your e-mail: Eugenio has sent you the access info and the token to validate your e-mail

Connect your smartphone the WiFi access point with SSID SENTINEL AP. The required password is admin_ap
Tback to the App, now configure the WiFi Access Point to be used by the gateway from now and click on ‘CONNETTI’
NOW THE CONFIGURATION IS COMPLETED! YOU CAN ENJOY USING EUGENIO!
