IRiS Shape Projector

Congratulations on the purchase of your IRiS Shape Projector!
The IRiS Shape Projector has been designed specifically for people with special needs and should, if
used in accordance with these guidelines, offer years of switching learning and fun!
The IRiS Shape Projector offers endless opportunities to develop numerous skills including colour
recognition, cause and effect, and many more.
The IRiS Shape Projector is an IRiS Listener and can be controlled by any number of IRiS Talkers.
***WARNING: This unit gets hot so must be mounted out of reach in a well ventilated area***
Please ensure you read this Instruction Manual in full before operating the unit.

Getting Started
1. Connect the blue power connector from the transformer into the socket on the back of the
unit
2. Connect the standard plug to a mains outlet.
3. The unit will now illuminate and scroll through the standard IRiS colours before going out.
4. Now it’s ready to use.
5. Decide which Talker you want to control the IRiS Shape Projector with then go to the Pairing
section.
Pairing to IRiS Listeners
This procedure is split into 2 sections, one for those who do not have an IRiS Master Pairer and for
those who do.
Without an IRiS Master Pairer
Every IRiS Listener has a red button on it called a pairing button. To get the IRiS Shape Projector to
work with a product, first turn on the IRiS Shape Projector then decide which IRiS Talker you want to
control it with –in this example we use the IRiS Qube but all work in the same manner.
Next find the pairing button on the back of the unit and press it. You then need to activate the IRiS
Qube within 5 seconds (in this case you would turn the Qube over). The IRiS Shape Projector will
now change colour every time you turn the Qube if correctly paired. If it does not then repeat the
above.
With an IRiS Master Pairer
To get the IRiS Shape Projector to work with a product, first turn on the IRiS Shape Projector then
decide which IRiS Talker you want to control it with –in this example we use the IRiS Qube but all
work in the same manner. Then find the button on the IRiS Master Pairer that corresponds with it
and press it. You then need to activate the IRiS Qube within 5 seconds (in this case you would turn
the Qube over). The IRiS Shape Projector will now change colour every time you turn the Qube if
correctly paired. If it does not then repeat the above.

Cleaning and Maintenance
The unit should be cleaned with a damp soft cloth. A non-abrasive cleaning agent may be used for
stubborn stains. Ensure no liquid enters the unit.
The unit has been designed for use by people with special needs however this does NOT mean it is
unbreakable.
How to Change the Lamp
ARNING –PLEASE ENSURE THE UNIT IS FULLY COOL BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE A LAMP
Lamp Type: 150W 15V Dichroic Code 330016
1. Switch off the unit and remove the plug from the mains supply, allow the unit to cool.
2. Remove the 2 screws securing the lamp access plate on the front of the unit.
3. Remove the front access plate and set aside.

4. Slide the lamp out of its holder
5. Pull the lamp out of its connector gripping it firmly
6. Fit new lamp to the connector. DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP FILAMENT WITH BARE HANDS.
7. Fit new lamp back into lamp holder and replace the access plate.
Troubleshooting
Q. The unit doesn’t work.
A1. Is it switched on? If so, see 2
A2. Has the unit scrolled through its colours? If no, please change the lamp as described in
the lamp change section and restart.
A3. Has the unit been paired to an IRiS Talker? If so, see 4
A4. Is the battery in the IRiS Talker fully charged? If so, see 5
A5. Have you tried a different IRiS Talker? If so, please contact us.
