Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
including the following:
1. Read all instructions prior to rst use.
2. DO NOT touch hot surfaces – use handles.
3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in
water or other liquid.
4. Keep the appliance away from children to avoid accidents. Close supervision is
necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug from wall outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before installing or removing parts, and before cleaning.
6. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance
to EZ Bean Cooker, LLC. (page 12) for examination, repair, or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may cause injuries.
8. DO NOT use outdoors.
9. DO NOT let cord hang over the edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. DO NOT place on or near a gas or electric burner or in an oven. Never put this
appliance in a dishwasher (only the inner cooking pot is dishwasher safe).
11. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot liquids
and oil. You should only move the appliance during operation if absolutely
necessary.
12. To disconnect, push the Stop button on the control panel and remove plug from
outlet.
13. DO NOT use the appliance for anything other than intended use.
14. This appliance is for household use only.
15. Caution – to reduce the risk of electric shock, cook only in the included inner
cooking pot.
16. DO NOT place the unit on an unstable location. It is strictly prohibited to use
the cooker on a newspaper, foam, or other object that may easily block the vent
hole at the bottom.
17. DO NOT use it in a place that is near water or re. DO NOT use it in a place
exposed to direct sunlight or splashing oil. Put the appliance in a place out of
reach of children.
18. DO NOT immerse the product, power cord, or plug in water or other liquid in
order to protect against electrical hazards.
19. If a part such as a wire or plug is damaged or the product malfunctions, turn the
cooker off instantly and send it to the service center for examination, repair, or
adjustment. See Limited Warranty (page 12).
20. DO NOT make unauthorized replacement of any spare part inside the pressure
cooker, as this may cause electric shock, re, or injury.
21. Before each use, be sure to check the anti-block shield, oat valve, and pressure
release valve for obstruction. Wipe the surface of the inner cooking pot and the
heating plate to conrm they are free of any foreign objects. Make sure the
pressure release valve is in the ClosedVent position.
22. DO NOT use an extension cord with the product. A short power-supply cord
should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping
over a longer cord.

23. Some foods are not intended for pressure cookers. Please do not cook any of the
following foods in this cooker: applesauce, cranberries, rhubarb, oatmeal/cereals,
noodles, macaroni, spaghetti, split peas, or pearl barley. These foods tend to froth,
foam, and sputter, and can result in clogging the pressure release devices. Do not
cook these foods in the EZ Bean Cooker.
24. Ensure the appropriate amount of liquid is used when cooking (refer to charts and
recipes on pages 8 and 13-14).
25. DO NOT ll the cooker above the Max Fill line inside the inner cooking pot with
food or liquid.
26. DO NOT move this product or forcefully remove the cover when the unit is in
operation.
27. DO NOT place your hands or face over the pressure release valve or oat valve to
avoid burning when the unit is in operation.
28. After cooking, use extreme caution when removing the cover. Serious burns can
result from steam inside the unit.
29. When opening the cover after cooking, do not touch the inner cooking pot or
cover with your hands to avoid burns.
30. Always unplug before cleaning and removing parts.
31. DO NOT cover the pressure release valve.
32. WARNING: Never deep fry or pressure fry in the unit. It is dangerous and may
cause a re or serious damage.
33. This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injuries.
Make certain the unit is properly closed before operating. See OperatingYour EZ
Bean Cooker (pages 6-7).
34. DO NOT ll the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during
cooking such as rice, beans, or dried vegetables, do not ll the unit over ½ full.
Overlling may cause a risk of clogging the vent and developing excess pressure.
See Basic Recipes (page 8) for appropriate measurements.
35. Always check the pressure release devices to make sure they are free of debris and
clogs before use.
36. DO NOT OPENTHE COOKER UNTILTHE UNIT HAS COOLED AND
ALL INTERNAL PRESSURE HAS BEEN RELEASED. If it is difcult to open
the lid, this indicates that the cooker is still pressurized – do not force it open.
Any pressure in the cooker can be hazardous. See OperatingYour EZ Bean Cooker
(pages 6-7).
37. Be sure that handles are assembled and fastened properly before each use.
Cracked or damaged handles should be replaced.
38. Adult supervision is required to prevent children from playing with the appliance.
39. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been supervised by a person responsible for their safety.
40. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
41. Never use metal utensils; use plastic or wooden utensils to protect the inner cooking
pot from scratches.

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the EZ Bean Cooker! Manufactured with state of the art
technology, this cooker uses pressurized cooking to turn dry beans into a tasty meal
or side dish in minutes instead of hours – no presoaking required! With our easy,
preset buttons just add ingredients, select the bean type you want to cook, press Start,
and walk away. A buzzer will sound once your beans are ready to enjoy.
Reasons to Eat EZ Cooked Beans
We wanted to develop a quick method of cooking beans – heating the beans and
not your kitchen! With the EZ Bean Cooker there is no reason to spend hours
soaking the “ole bean”!
For your health: beans are high in protein and ber and have low sodium. In
addition, diets rich in beans can help with weight control.
Beans are packed with nutrients and are a low cost and tasty ingredient that can
be added to any meal.
A Little About Beans
Dry beans have a long shelf life, making them a desirable food to keep on hand in your
pantry. Over time, the moisture content of the beans will decrease. Although beans
with lower moisture content are still good beans, they take a little longer to cook
than beans with higher moisture content. Dry beans have their highest moisture
content when they are rst packaged.
Bean pods grow out of owers on bean plants. Dry beans are those that have been
left in their pods to dry in the eld. These beans are typically harvested in the early Fall
during the time they have their highest moisture content - ranging from 15-16%
moisture. By December, the moisture will drop to about 14-15%. In March, moisture
content will be around 13-14% and by June the moisture content will be fairly low at
11-12%. Lower moisture content does not affect the quality of the beans; however,
these beans may need longer cook times.
A Quick Look atYour Cooker
Preset buttons are based on bean variety; simply follow the included recipes, select
the bean variety, and push Start.
High Pressure (all buttons except Low Pressure) = 10 PSI
Low Pressure = 6 PSI
If you choose to add salt to your beans, always add it after the beans are cooked.
If salt is added before the beans are cooked, their skins will toughen and they will
take longer to cook.

1. Indicator Lights – shows current cycle: Heating Up (cycle takes approximately 20
minutes), Pressure Cooking, and Release Pressure.
2. Preset Lentils/Low Pressure - 12 minutes

10. AdjustTime: add or subtract one minute at a time.
11. Use the Manual Cook button to cook at high pressure for any amount of time
between 1 and 99 minutes. Simply use the AdjustTime buttons to set your
desired cook time.
12. After selecting the bean variety, push Start to begin the cooking cycles.
13. Select the Stop button to cancel or stop a cook cycle.
14. The Keep Warm button will keep your food warm in the cooker for up to 1½
hours.

Before First Use
1. Remove all packaging materials from your EZ Bean Cooker. Take the inner
cooking pot out and remove and discard any protective paper or materials.
Remove any promotional labels from the cooker. DO NOT REMOVE ANY
SAFETY STICKER WARNINGS FROM LID.
2. Make sure that you have retained all parts of the appliance before discarding the
packaging materials.
3. During manufacturing and shipping, dust may have settled on your cooker. Simply
wipe the exterior of the cooker with a damp cloth to remove any dust.
4. Next, completely clean the inner cooking pot with warm, soapy water and dry
thoroughly. Clean the inner lid in the same way.
5. Make sure that the surface you place the cooker on is clean, dry, and at.
6. Check that the pressure release valve is rmly in place and that it is turned to
ClosedVent.
OperatingYour EZ Bean Cooker
1. Make sure that the cooker is clean and assembled correctly.
2. Check gasket for appropriate t and condition.
3. To open the lid, hold the handle, turn counterclockwise , and then lift.
4. Remove the inner cooking pot from the cooker to add food and liquid.
DO NOT FILL OVERTHE MAX FILL LINE MARKED ONTHE INNER POT
Beans and rice will expand during cooking – overlling the inner pot
may clog the pressure release valve and could damage your cooker.
Use the appropriate amount of liquid as suggested by the recipes
included in this manual. For bean recipe instructions,please follow the
charts on pages 13-14.
5. To lock the lid, make sure that the rim of the cooker is clear of any food or debris;
place the lid on the cooker and turn clockwise . Make sure the pressure
release valve is closed.
6. Plug the power cord into a reliable wall outlet.
7. Once all ingredients have been added to the cooker and the lid has been locked in
place, press the button that designates the bean type to be cooked, or use the chart
on pages 13-14 for additional cook times to use with the Manual Cook function.
8. If desired, add or subtract time to the cook cycle by pressing the –or +Adjust
Time buttons.
9. Press the Start button.
10. Display will light up to show that the cooker is in the Heating Up cycle – the
cook time on the digital display will not start counting down until the cooker has
switched to the Pressure Cooking cycle. The Heating Up cycle will take around 20
minutes before the appropriate pressure has been reached.
a. Once in the Pressure Cooking cycle, the numbers on the digital display
will begin decreasing.

b. At the end of the Pressure Cooking cycle a buzzer will sound to
notify you that the beans are done. The cooker will automatically turn
heat off. Push the Stop button once to turn off buzzer.
c. Using extreme caution (you may wear an oven mitt or use tongs or a
similar utensil), turn the pressure release valve to OpenVent– this will
allow the pressure to escape quickly. Keep face and all
other body parts away from the steam that escapes the
pressure release valve. Please note: if excessive liquid
sputters out of the pressure release valve, turn to the
ClosedVent position and let sit for about ve minutes so
that some of the pressure releases naturally. Then, turn the
release valve to OpenVent to release the remaining
pressure. If sputtering continues, close the release valve and
wait a few additional minutes.
d. It should take up to three minutes for the pressure to be completely
released. You will not be able to open the cooker lid until
the pressure has been released completely.
e. Once all of the steam has been released, hold the handle on the lid and
turn it counterclockwise . Use caution, as the contents are very
hot and additional steam may rise from the food.
f. You may push the Keep Warm button if you would like your cooker
to remain on a low heat setting for up to 1½ hours.
g. At the end of the Keep Warm cycle the cooker will automatically
turn off; if you would like to turn the Keep Warm cycle on for an
additional 1½ hours, simply push the Keep Warm button.
Low Pressure Setting
All preset buttons automatically cook at High Pressure (10 PSI); if you want to cook at
Low Pressure (6 PSI), use the Low Pressure button, then use the AdjustTime
buttons to enter the desired cook time.
Reset or Cancel
If you need to reset the time, cancel, or stop a cook cycle, simply push the Stop button.
Keep Warm Setting
Your cooker heating element will automatically turn off at the end of the cooking cycles.
If you want to keep your food warm in the cooker, push the Keep Warm button. The
cooker will stay in this mode for up to 1½ hours, then will automatically turn off
completely.

Basic Recipes
Use the following directions to prepare all of the beans that you cook in the
EZ Bean Cooker:
Dry beans are a raw agricultural product; they must be cleaned and sorted to ensure
that any debris is removed prior to cooking.
1. Spread dry beans onto a at surface (such as a baking sheet) – remove any small
stones, pieces of dirt, shriveled/discolored beans, or other foreign materials and
discard.
2. Once the beans have been sorted, rinse the beans in cold water until the water
runs clear; you may choose to do this in a strainer or colander.
3. Next, place the rinsed beans in the inner cooking pot of the EZ Bean Cooker.
4. Use the measurements below when adding ingredients to the inner cooking pot:

1 pound (or 2 ¼ cups) 8 cups 4 teaspoons
1 cup 4 cups 2 teaspoons
Vegetable oil will keep the beans from frothing. Froth can clog the
pressure release valve – DO NOT OMIT OIL. You may substitute vegetable
oil with another cooking oil of your choice, such as olive oil.
5. After all ingredients have been added, close and lock the lid.
6. Select the bean variety by pushing the appropriate button on the cooker. The
preset buttons are designed to cook your beans perfectly every time! However, at
this point, you can adjust the cook time if you desire your beans a particular way –
simply use the AdjustTime buttons to add or subtract one minute at a time, then
push Start.
7. At the end of the Pressure Cooking cycle, a buzzer will sound to notify you that
the heating and cooking cycles are complete. Push the Stop button to turn off the
buzzer.
8. Using extreme caution, turn the pressure release valve to Open Vent to manually
release the pressure.
Keep face and all other body parts away from the steam that escapes the
pressure release valve. Please note: if excessive liquid sputters out of the
pressure release valve, turn to the ClosedVent position and let sit for about
ve minutes so that some of the pressure releases naturally. Then, turn the
release valve to OpenVent to release the remaining pressure. If sputtering
continues, close the release valve and wait a few additional minutes.
