1. Warning and Caution statements
CAUTION
Always ensure proper training of the Kangoofix equipment is carried out before using the product
Ensure that the inner harness, warming cover and skull cap (“limited use items”) which are made from a grey
protective “Breath-o-prene Oeko-Tex 100 (Neoprene type)” material are cleaned prior to use, for infection control
reasons
Check on a regular basis that all “limited use items” are in good condition and check that all VELCRO® parts are
undamaged and fix together properly
NOTE the “limited use items” are limited to 4 washes maximum (5 uses in total), after which they should disposed of
and replaced for new ones. This for safety reasons as well as infection control
Always check that the Kangoofix 5-point safety belts / outer harness are in good condition, have no damage and is
cleaned before use. Make sure to test the buckle functionality on a regular basis. Replace outer harness
immediately if there are any signs of visible damage or the buckles are not working
Avoid handling Kangoofix system around sharp objects
Avoid handling the Kangoofix system close to a naked flame
Check regularly that the neck/back support plate is not damaged or showing signs of wear and tear. Replace the
support plate if there are any signs of visible damage
Kangoofix is designed to carry a neonate from approx 1.6 kg up to maximum of around 5 kg, also according to the
physical body mass of the baby
If the Kangoofix device has been involved in an accident then the unit should not be used again and should be
immediately disposed of
Recommendation: Usable life of 10 years on the restraint system

2. Intended use
The Germa Kangoofix system is designed to comfortably and safely hold a new born baby/child during transport,
together with a parent in close contact. The baby is held to the parent by attaching to the trolley harness on which the
parent is laid through the Kangoofix inner and outer harness system. As such it is not necessary to separate the parent
from the child when transporting from one location to another, ensuring that the parent and baby are comfortable,
content and safe together. If medical conditions require that the baby needs to be accessed quickly during transport, this
can be achieved by using the quick release feature. The baby can also be turned and held face-up in Kangoofix, for
monitoring by the paramedic during the journey, if required due to medical circumstances.
Important: In face-up direction it is important to have control over the baby’s head at all times, only use this position
when medical monitoring is required.

4. Deployment of Kangoofix
The Germa Kangoofix consists of an inner harness, warming cover and Skull-
cap, and a 5-point “outer-harness” safety restraint. The inner harness, warming
cover and Skull cap are all made of a material called Breath-o-pren Oeko-Tex
100, which is a multi-layer grey and red breathable fabric, clinically tested and
proven to cause no reaction to the baby’s skin. A special hook fastening system
sewn into the material allows fixing of the inner harness and warming cover
around the child. The 5-point fixation restraint system is made from grey
polyester webbing, with approved crash-tested metal and plastic child seat
buckles.
When deploying Kangoofix, first ensure that the outer harness is attached to the trolley harness.
With the parent laid on the trolley with the backrest at a comfortable angle and the parent correctly and safely restrained
using the trolley 4-point harness and leg restraints, start to attach the Kangoofix outer-harness.
The 5 grey Kangoofix outer-harness straps should be attached to the trolley harness by feeding
each individual Kangoofix strap around the trolley harness strap and then back through the loop at
the end of the Kangoofix strap, and then pulled tight. A Kangoofix strap should be attached to each
of the trolley 4-point harness straps; around the shoulder straps each side of the patient and onto
the waist straps each side of the patient’s waist, with the fifth Kangoofix strap attached to the
trolley upper-leg strap.
The Kangoofix inner harness and warming cover should then be wrapped around the baby, firstly ensuring that the
head/back support is correctly located inside the holding pouch of the inner-harness.
Wrap the inner harness around the baby, with the red side of the inner-harness against the baby’s skin, the grey part
facing outwards, using the circular hook fixation pads to attach the inner harness together at the front. Start by fixing the
inner harness around the baby’s legs, then around the shoulders. The inner harness should be deployed and adjusted
such that it is firmly held around the baby with no slack, but not too tight.
Make sure that the baby is correctly support by the neck/back support plate in the inner
harness.

Next place the baby inside the warming cover, with the orientation such that the hook fixing pads on the outside of the
warming cover are facing downwards, ensuring that the flaps at the front of the warming cover are then wrapped around
the baby and fixed together by use of the hook fixation pads on the inner harness, to form a cocoon around the baby,
with orientation such that the red side of the material is against the baby’s skin.
Then place the skull cap onto the baby’s head.
Note that using the warming cover can be omitted from use, if not required, and just use the inner harness on its own.
4. Deployment of Kangoofix (cont…)
Next step is to place the baby with the parent laid on the trolley, baby’s face towards parent and positioned around the
upper chest of the parent, away from any trolley restraint buckles or straps.
The Kangoofix quick-release central buckle should then be fixed onto the hook fixation pad on the back of the warming
cover (or to the back of the inner harness if a warming mattress is not being used).
Ensure that the parent and baby are correctly and comfortably positioned, then start to connect the Kangoofix outer
harness straps to the central buckle located on the back of the warming mattress (inner harness).
One by one, attach the 5 Kangoofix straps to the central buckle, starting with the straps that connect to the trolley waist
straps, then from the leg strap, then shoulder straps. As each strap is attached, tighten it sufficiently such that there is no
slack in the strap, still making sure that the baby and parent are comfortable and in correct position.
You may need to re-adjust and further tighten the straps to ensure the baby is correctly positioned and each Kangoofix
strap adjusted such that the baby “cocoon” does not move around.

5. Step-by-Step Operating instructions
Below is a simplified step-by step procedure for deploying Kangoofix
1. Importantly first make sure you have the neck/back protection plate is inside the Inner Harness before use
2. Disconnect each of the 5 safety belt straps from the 5-point quick-release buckle.
3. Connect Kangoofix outer-harness shoulder straps, waist and upper leg belt straps by making loops around the trolley
4-point harnesses and upper leg harness.
4. Open up the inner harness, place the baby with his/her back towards the red part of inner-harness, making sure that
the baby is correctly supported by the neck/back support plate in the inner harness.
5. Start to close the inner harness around the child, starting with the flap between the legs and fix this part to one of the
shoulder flaps, using the attached hook fixing pads

6. Close the side flaps of the inner harness to the centre, again using the hook fixing pads, make sure the harness is
tight but baby comfortable.
NOTE: Connect shoulder flaps before the side flaps
7. Make sure that the child is comfortable in the inner harness and then wrap the warming cover around the baby, and
place the skull cap on, making sure to cover the child safely and comfortably. Note that the warming cover can also
be wrapped around the baby after he/she has been placed on top of the parent on the trolley.
8. Place baby with mother on the trolley, face down and connect the Germa Kangoofix central quick release buckle to
the back of the warming cover.
9. Connect the 2 Kangoofix outer-harness waist straps to the central 5-point buckle and tighten to remove the slack in
the straps
10. Connect the Kangoofix leg strap to the central 5-point buckle and tighten to remove the slack
11. Connect the Kangoofix shoulder straps to the central 5-point buckle and tighten to remove the slack, making sure the
baby is comfortably positioned
12. Make sure baby and parent are in the required and comfortable position, and start to gently further tighten the 5
straps such that the baby is firmly positioned
NOTE! In a medical emergency where immediate intervention to the baby is required, press the RED quick
release button on the central buckle to free the baby.

6. Cleaning and disinfecting
After each use all parts of the Kangoofix system should be machine washed in a washing bag, using good quality
standard washing powder. They items should be washed at 60’C. Do not iron and no dry cleaning.
Allow the items to dry completely before storing and next use. Do not tumble dry.
NOTE - There is a maximum of 4 washes for the Inner harness, warming cover and skull cap (5 uses max) after which
the items should be replaced, for safety reasons.
NOTE: - Labels on the Inner Harness and on the warming cover with attached skull cap allows a record to be made
each time an item is washed, and allows it to be tracked as to when an item needs replacing (after 4 washes/5 uses)
The outer harness can be washed and re-used an unlimited number of times as long as they continue to show no signs
of wear and tear.
If the Kangoofix requires disinfecting, first clean it carefully and let it dry. Wipe the item with a solution containing 70%
alcohol or use the disinfectant called LYSETOL AF.
Test all Kangoofix parts at regular intervals to make sure that they are working well, are not damaged in any way and do
not show any signs of wear and tear. It any part does show signs of wear or damage, then it should not be used
anymore and replaced immediately
7. Maintenance and repair
At a regular intervals and prior to each use Kangoofix must be checked for any visible damage, good functionality and
that it is clean.
The Inner harness and Warming cover with Skull cap should be checked that they are in good condition after washing
and the hook fixing pads tested to ensure they work properly and make a good locking/fixation.
At the same time the functioning of 5-point belt set should be tested, by opening and closing of all buckles to make sure
they work safely. Furthermore the quick release buckle and button should be checked for correct function/
If any of the component parts of Kangoofix is showing any kind of diminished function or damage then it should be
replaced immediately.
NOTE: Never repair any parts of the Kangoofix system for safety reasons.
8. Testing of Kangoofix
To test Kangoofix, open and close of all buckles to make sure they work properly.
All outer harness straps must be tested and checked that they are working correctly
Also ensure that the quick release buckle and button are functioning correctly.
Inner harness, Warming cover and Skull cap hook fixing pads should be tested by visually inspection and function test of
to ensure they close and fixate properly, that there is no damage to the hook fixing pad surface and that they are not
dirty.
9. Storage
Make sure that once all component parts of the Kangoofix system have been checked that they are all stored together in
a suitable bag,
The bag should include:
Complete 5-point belt set system with central 5-point buckle and 5 fixing straps
Inner harness with neck/back support plate inserted inside
Warming cover with Skull cap attached
Ensure to store the Kangoofix in a dry and clean place.

Deutsch Gebrauchsanweisung
1. Vorsichts- und Warnhinweise
VORSICHT
Machen Sie sich bitte vor Gebrauch der Kangoofix-Ausrüstung mit der sachgemäßen Handhabung dieses Produkts
vertraut.
Die Innenmanschette, der Wärmebeutel und die Kopfbedeckung („Verbrauchsartikel mit begrenzter Nutzungsdauer“)
sind aus grauem, schützendem Breath-o-Prene-Material (atmungsaktives Neopren) nach den Richtlinien des Oeko-
Tex 100-Standards gefertigt und müssen zur Vermeidung von Infektionen vor jedem Gebrauch gereinigt werden.
Prüfen Sie regelmäßig, ob sich alle „Verbrauchsartikel mit begrenzter Nutzungsdauer“ in einwandfreiem Zustand
befinden, und vergewissern Sie sich, dass alle VELCRO®-Verschlüsse unbeschädigt und verschlusssicher sind.
ACHTUNG: „Verbrauchsartikel mit begrenzter Nutzungsdauer“ dürfen maximal 4 Mal gewaschen werden (insgesamt
5 Anwendungen) und müssen anschließend entsorgt und durch neue Artikel ersetzt werden. Dies geschieht aus
Sicherheitsgründen sowie zur Bekämpfung von Infektionen.
Überzeugen Sie sich vor jedem Einsatz, ob sich die Kangoofix-5-Punkt-Sicherheitsgurte bzw. das äußere
Gurtbefestigungssystem in einwandfreiem Zustand befinden, keine Beschädigungen aufweisen und vor Gebrauch
gereinigt wurden. Die Funktionsfähigkeit der Gurtverschlüsse muss regelmäßig geprüft werden. Das äußere
Gurtbefestigungssystem ist bei sichtbaren Beschädigungen oder defekten Verschlüssen unverzüglich
auszutauschen.
Vermeiden Sie die Befestigung des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems an scharfkantigen Gegenständen.
Vermeiden Sie offene Flammen in der Nähe des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems.
Überprüfen Sie die Nacken-/Rückenstütze regelmäßig auf Beschädigungen oder Verschleißerscheinungen. Die
Stütze muss bei äußerlich sichtbaren Beschädigungen ausgetauscht werden.
Kangoofix ist geeignet für Neugeborene mit einem Gewicht von ca. 1,6 bis maximal 5 kg, jeweils unter
Berücksichtigung der tatsächlichen Körpermasse des Babys.
Wird das Kangoofix-Gurtbefestigungssystem in einen Unfall verwickelt, ist die Ausrüstung nicht weiter verwendbar
und muss entsorgt werden.

2. Verwendungszweck
Das Germa Kangoofix-Sicherungssystem für Neugeborene/Kleinkinder sorgt für den so wichtigen Körperkontakt
zwischen Elternteil und Baby und erhöht die Sicherheit und den Komfort des Babys während des Transports im
Rettungsfahrzeug. Das Baby wird mit dem Kangoofix-Sicherungssystem, bestehend aus Innenmanschette und äußerem
Gurtbefestigungssystem, am Patientengurt befestigt, mit dem das Elternteil an der Trage fixiert ist. Insofern ist es nicht
erforderlich das Elternteil beim Transport von A nach B vom Kleinkind zu trennen und beide können sicher, zufrieden
und geborgen transportiert werden. Falls während des Transports eine dringende ärztliche Untersuchung oder ein
Eingriff vorgenommen werden muss, lässt sich das Baby durch Betätigen des Schnellverschlusses bequem vom
Gurtbefestigungssystem lösen. Das Baby kann zur Überwachung durch den Sanitäter während der Fahrt auch mit
Blickrichtung nach vorne im Kangoofix befestigt werden, wenn dies aus medizinischer Sicht erforderlich ist.
Wichtiger Hinweis: Bei der Fixierung des Babys mit dem Gesicht nach vorne ist darauf zu achten, dass Kopf und
Nacken des Säuglings jederzeit gut gestützt werden. Diese Stellung sollte deshalb nur dann gewählt werden, wenn eine
ärztliche Überwachung erforderlich ist.

4. Anlegen des Kangoofix Sicherungssystems
Das Germa Kangoofix Sicherungssystem für Babys besteht aus einer
Innenmanschette, einem Wärmebeutel, einer Kopfbedeckung sowie einem
äußeren 5-Punkt-Sicherheitsrückhaltesystem. Die Innenmanschette, der
Wärmebeutel und die Kopfbedeckung sind aus hochwertigem Breath-O-Prene-
Material nach Oeko-Tex-Standard 100, einem besonders leichten,
atmungsaktiven Mehrschichtgewebe in grauer und roter Farbe gefertigt. Die
Hautverträglichkeit des Materials für Babys wurde durch klinische Tests
nachgewiesen. Durch ein spezielles, mit dem Material vernähtes
Klettbefestigungssystem kann das Kind in die Innenmanschette und den
Wärmebeutel eingehüllt und fixiert werden. Das 5-Punkt-
Sicherheitsrückhaltesystem ist aus grauem Polyestergewebe gefertigt und mit
aufprallgeprüften Metall- und Kunststoff-Verschlüssen für Kindersitze ausgestattet.
Prüfen Sie beim Anlegen des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems zunächst, ob das äußere Gurtbefestigungssystem am
Patientenhaltegurt befestigt ist.
Beginnen Sie mit der Befestigung des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems, nachdem Sie die Mutter mit dem 4-Punkt-
Patientenhaltegurt und den Beingurten in bequem angewinkelter Sitzposition sicher auf der Trage fixiert haben.
Befestigen Sie die 5 grauen äußeren Befestigungsgurte des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems an den
Patientenhaltegurten, indem Sie die Gurte des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems jeweils um den
Patientenhaltegurt herum und dann durch die Schlaufe am Ende des Kangoofix-Gurtes führen und
festziehen. An jedem der 4-Punkt-Patientenhaltegurte wird jeweils ein Kangoofix-Gurt befestigt,
und zwar an den Schultergurten auf beiden Seiten des Patienten sowie an den Hüftgurten auf
beiden Seiten der Taille des Patienten. Der fünfte Kangoofix-Gurt wird schließlich an den
Oberschenkelgurten der Trage befestigt.
Umwickeln Sie das Baby mit der Innenmanschette und dem Wärmebeutel des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems, nachdem
Sie den korrekten Sitz der Nacken-/Rückenstütze in der Protektorentasche an der Innenmanschette überprüft haben.
Wickeln Sie nun das Baby in die Innenmanschette, so dass die rote Seite der Innenmanschette Kontakt mit der Haut
des Babys hat. Die graue Seite zeigt nach außen. Fixieren Sie die Innenmanschette, indem Sie die Laschen mit den
kreisrunden Klettverschlüssen an der Körpervorderseite des Babys schließen. Fixieren Sie die Innenmanschette
zunächst an den Beinen und dann an den Schultern des Babys. Das Baby muss von der Innenmanschette sicher und
fest gehalten werden. Sie darf weder zu locker noch zu straff anliegen.
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Nacken-/Rückenstütze ordnungsgemäß in die
Innenmanschette eingeschoben ist, damit das Baby gut gestützt wird.

Legen Sie das Baby dann so auf die rote Seite des Wärmebeutels, dass die Klettverschlusspads an der Außenseite des
Wärmebeutels nach unten zeigen. Die Klappen an der Vorderseite des Wärmebeutels müssen mit den
Klettverschlusspads fixiert werden, damit sie einen Kokon um das Baby bilden.
Setzen Sie dem Baby dann die Kopfbedeckung auf.
Falls nicht erforderlich, kann auf das Anlegen des Wärmebeutels verzichtet werden. Verwenden Sie stattdessen nur die
Innenmanschette.
Legen Sie das Baby dann im nächsten Schritt bäuchlings auf den oberen Brustbereich der Mutter. Achten Sie auf
ausreichenden Abstand zu störenden Verschlüssen oder Gurten an der Patiententrage.
Befestigen Sie anschließend den Zentralverschluss des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems am Klettverschlusspad auf der
Rückseite des Wärmebeutels (oder auf der Rückseite der Innenmanschette, falls die Wärmeauflage nicht verwendet
wird).
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass sich Mutter und Baby in einer bequemen Sitzposition befinden, und verbinden Sie dann die
äußeren Befestigungsgurte des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems mit dem Zentralverschluss an der Rückseite der
Wärmeauflage (Innenmanschette).
Befestigen Sie dann nacheinander die 5 Gurte des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems am Zentralverschluss. Zuerst die
Gurte an den Hüftgurten der Trage, dann den Beingurt und schließlich die Schultergurte. Ziehen Sie die Gurte
anschließend straff. Achten Sie darauf, dass Baby und Mutter sich wohlfühlen und sich in der richtigen Sitzposition
befinden.
Die Gurte des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems müssen gegebenenfalls etwas nachgestellt und fester angezogen werden,
bis das Baby richtig platziert und sichergestellt ist, dass der „Kokon“ des Babys während des Transports nicht
verrutschen kann.

5. Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung
Es folgt eine einfache, schrittweise Anleitung zum Anlegen des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems.
1. Vergewissern Sie sich vor dem Einsatz, dass die Nacken-/Rückenstütze in die Innenmanschette eingeschoben ist.
2. Lösen Sie die 5 Sicherheitsgurte aus dem 5-Punkt-Schnellverschluss.
3. Verbinden Sie die Schultergurte sowie die Hüft- und Beingurte des äußeren Gurtbefestigungssystems durch
Schlaufen an den 4-Punkt-Haltegurten und den Oberschenkelgurten der Trage.
4. Öffnen Sie die Innenmanschette, legen Sie das Baby mit dem Rücken auf den roten Bereich der Manschette. Achten
Sie darauf, dass das Baby gut an der Nacken-/Rückenstütze in der Innenmanschette anliegt, damit Nacken und
Rücken ausreichend gestützt werden.
5. Schließen Sie nun nacheinander die Innenmanschette um das Kind. Beginnen Sie dabei mit der Lasche zwischen den
Beinen. Fixieren Sie diesen Teil mithilfe der Klettpads an einer der Schulterlaschen.

6. Schließen Sie nun auch die Seitenlaschen der Innenmanschette, indem Sie die Klettpads über der Rumpfmitte des
Babys übereinanderlegen. Achten Sie darauf, dass der Haltegurt gut anliegt, ohne das Baby einzuengen.

BITTE BEACHTEN: Schließen Sie zuerst die Laschen an der Schulter und dann die Seitenlaschen an.
7. Achten Sie darauf, dass sich das Baby in der Innenmanschette wohl fühlt, umwickeln Sie es dann mit dem
Wärmebeutel, setzen sie dem Baby schließlich die Kopfbedeckung auf, damit es sicher und bequem eingepackt ist.
Das Baby kann auch später in den Wärmebeutel eingehüllt werden, nachdem die Mutter bereits auf der Trage
fixiert ist.
8. Legen Sie die Mutter mit dem bäuchlings auf ihr liegenden Baby auf die Trage, und befestigen Sie dann den
Zentralschnellverschluss an der Rückseite des Wärmebeutels.
9. Verbinden Sie die 2 Kangoofix-Hüftgurtbänder des äußeren Gurtbefestigungssystems mit dem 5-Punkt-
Zentralverschluss, und ziehen Sie die Gurte dann straff.
10. Verbinden Sie den Kangoofix-Beingurt mit dem 5-Punkt-Zentralverschluss und ziehen Sie ihn dann straff.
11. Verbinden Sie die Kangoofix-Schultergurte mit dem 5-Punkt-Zentralverschluss und ziehen Sie die Gurte dann straff.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Baby bequem liegt.
12. Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich Baby und Mutter in der erforderlichen, komfortablen Position befinden, straffen Sie die 5
Gurte dann etwas stärker, damit das Baby sicher fixiert ist.
BITTE BEACHTEN! Drücken Sie bei einem medizinischen Notfall, der ein sofortiges Eingreifen des Arztes
erfordert, auf den ROTEN Knopf des Zentralverschlusses. Damit können Sie den Gurt schnell lösen und das
Baby befreien.

6. Reinigung und Desinfektion
Nach jedem Gebrauch müssen alle Teile des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems in einem Wäschenetz in der Maschine mit
einem herkömmlichen Markenwaschmittel gewaschen werden. Die einzelnen Teile sollten bei einer Temperatur von
60 °C gewaschen werden. Die Teile dürfen nicht gebügelt oder chemisch gereinigt werden.
Lassen Sie die Teile vor dem Einlagern bis zum nächsten Gebrauch erst vollständig trocknen. Nicht im Trockner
trocknen.
BITTE BEACHTEN: - Die Innenmanschette, der Wärmebeutel und die Kopfbedeckung dürfen maximal 4 Mal
gewaschen werden (insgesamt 5 Anwendungen) und müssen anschließend aus Sicherheitsgründen entsorgt und durch
neue Artikel ersetzt werden.
BITTE BEACHTEN: - Auf den Etiketten an der Innenmanschette und dem Wärmebeutel mit befestigter Kopfbedeckung
kann jeder Waschvorgang vermerkt werden. Dadurch lässt sich nachvollziehen, wann ein Artikel ersetzt werden muss
(nach 4 Wäschen/5 Anwendungen).
Soweit das äußere Gurtbefestigungssystem keine Verschleißspuren aufweist, kann es beliebig oft gewaschen und
wiederverwendet werden.
Bei einer erforderlichen Desinfektion reinigen Sie das Kangoofix-Sicherungssystem zunächst sorgfältig und lassen es
anschließend trocknen. Wischen Sie die Oberflächen mit einer 70%-igen Alkohollösung ab oder verwenden Sie ein
aldehydfreies Desinfektionsmittel.
Überprüfen Sie regelmäßig alle Teile des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems auf einwandfreie Funktionalität, eventuell
vorhandene Beschädigungen oder Anzeichen von Verschleiß. Bei Anzeichen von Verschleiß dürfen diese Teile nicht
mehr verwendet und müssen umgehend ersetzt werden.
7. Instandhaltung und Reparatur
Das Kangoofix-Sicherungssystem muss in regelmäßigen Abständen und vor jedem Gebrauch auf sichtbare Schäden,
einwandfreie Funktionsweise und Sauberkeit geprüft werden.
Nach dem Waschen ist zu überprüfen, ob sich die Innenmanschette und der Wärmebeutel noch in gutem Zustand
befinden. Ebenso ist zu überprüfen, ob die Klettpads noch ordnungsgemäß funktionieren und sich fest
verschließen/fixieren lassen.
Gleichzeitig sollte überprüft werden, ob sich die Verschlüsse des 5-Punkt-Gurtsystems zuverlässig und sicher öffnen
und schließen lassen. Ebenso müssen der Schnellverschluss und die Schnellkupplung auf einwandfreie Funktion
geprüft werden.
Falls einzelne Bauteile des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems eine eingeschränkte Funktionstüchtigkeit oder Schäden
aufweisen, müssen diese sofort ersetzt werden.
BITTE BEACHTEN: Aus Sicherheitsgründen dürfen keine Reparaturen an den Teilen des Kangoofix-
Gurtbefestigungssystems vorgenommen werden.
8. Prüfen des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems
Sie können die Funktionsfähigkeit des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems überprüfen, indem Sie alle Verschlüsse öffnen und
wieder schließen.
Überprüfen Sie, ob alle Gurte des äußeren Befestigungssystems einwandfrei funktionieren.
Außerdem ist die ordnungsgemäße Funktion des Schnellverschlusses und der Schnellkupplung sicherzustellen.
Die Klettpads an der Innenmanschette, dem Wärmebeutel und der Kopfbedeckung müssen einer Sichtprüfung und
einem Funktionstest unterzogen werden, um sicherzustellen, dass sie sich fest schließen und fixieren lassen. Die
Oberfläche der Klettpads darf zudem keine Beschädigungen oder Verschmutzungen aufweisen.
9. Lagerung
Nach der Überprüfung der einzelnen Bestandteile des Kangoofix-Sicherungssystems müssen diese gemeinsam bis zum
nächsten Einsatz in einer geeigneten Tasche aufbewahrt werden.
Die Tasche sollte folgende Teile enthalten:
Komplettes 5-Punkt-Gurtbefestigungssystem mit 5-Punkt-Zentralverschluss und 5 Befestigungsgurten
Innenmanschette mit eingesetzter Nacken-/Rückenstütze
Wärmebeutel mit befestigter Kopfbedeckung

Consignes d'utilisation
1. Avertissement et mise en garde
MISE EN GARDE
Avant d'utiliser le produit, veillez à suivre une formation appropriée afin de manipuler correctement le Kangoofix.
Veillez à ce que le harnais intérieur, la couverture chauffante ainsi que la calotte de protection crânienne (« éléments
à usage limité »), fabriqués dans un matériau de protection gris « Breath-o-Prene Oeko-Tex 100 (de type
néoprène) », soient nettoyés avant d'être utilisés en vue d'éviter tout risque d'infection.
Vérifiez régulièrement le bon état de tous les « éléments à usage limité ». Veillez également à ce que les parties en
VELCRO® ne soient pas abîmées et qu'elles s'attachent correctement.
REMARQUE : les « éléments à usage limité » ne peuvent être lavés que 4 fois maximum (5 utilisations au total),
après quoi vous devez les jeter et les remplacer, et ce pour des raisons de sécurité de même que pour éviter un
risque d'infection.
Vérifiez systématiquement le bon état des ceintures de sécurité à 5 points d’attache/du harnais extérieur du
Kangoofix. Assurez-vous qu'ils ne sont pas abîmés et qu'ils ont été correctement nettoyés avant d'être utilisés.
Pensez à vérifier régulièrement le bon fonctionnement de la boucle. Si vous constatez un signe de détérioration
visible sur le harnais extérieur ou si les boucles ne s'attachent pas correctement, veillez à le remplacer.
Évitez de manipuler le système Kangoofix à proximité d'objets tranchants.
Évitez de manipuler le système Kangoofix à proximité d'une flamme nue.
Vérifiez régulièrement que la plaque de soutien cervical/dorsal n'est pas endommagée et ne présente aucun signe
d'usure. Remplacez la plaque de soutien si vous constatez un signe de détérioration visible.
Le Kangoofix est conçu pour porter des nouveau-nés d’environ 1,6 kg jusqu'à près de 5 kg maximum. Il est également
important de tenir compte de la masse corporelle physique du nouveau-né.
Si le Kangoofix a servi lors d'un accident, il ne peut plus être utilisé et doit être éliminé immédiatement.

2. Usage prévu
Le système Kangoofix de Germa est conçu pour porter un nouveau-né/un bébé de manière confortable et sécurisée
lors du transport, et ce tout en permettant un contact étroit avec le parent. Le nouveau-né est porté par le parent et est
maintenu grâce au système d’attache des harnais intérieur et extérieur Kangoofix au brancard pédiatrique sur lequel il
se trouve. Il n'est donc en aucun cas nécessaire de séparer le parent de l'enfant lors de son transport d'un endroit à
l’autre, ce qui permet de garantir simultanément leur confort, leur bien-être ainsi que leur sécurité. Si, pour des raisons
médicales, le nouveau-né doit être accessible rapidement durant le transport, le système est équipé d'un dispositif
d'ouverture rapide. Le nouveau-né peut alors être retourné, visage de face, dans le Kangoofix, permettant ainsi aux
praticiens de s'en occuper lors du trajet, si des circonstances médicales l'imposent.
Important : Lorsque le nouveau-né se présente avec le visage de face, il est important de surveiller sa tête à tout
moment. Recourez à cette position uniquement en cas de surveillance médicale obligatoire.

4. Déploiement du système Kangoofix
Le système Kangoofix de Germa se compose d'un harnais intérieur, d'une
couverture chauffante et d'une calotte de protection crânienne, ainsi que d'un
« harnais extérieur » de sécurité à 5 points d’attache. Le harnais intérieur, la
couverture chauffante et la calotte de protection crânienne sont fabriqués à base
d'un matériau appelé Breath-o-pren Oeko-Tex 100. Il s'agit d'un tissu respirant
multicouche gris et rouge, testé cliniquement et ne provoquant aucune réaction
cutanée chez le nouveau-né. Un système de fixation rapide spécial cousu à
l'intérieur du tissu permet de fixer le harnais intérieur et d'envelopper l'enfant
avec la couverture chauffante. Le système de maintien à 5 points d'attache est
conçu à base de fibres en polyester gris, et comprend des boucles de siège pour
enfants en métal et plastique approuvées et ayant réussi le crash test.
Lorsque vous déployez un système Kangoofix, assurez-vous d'abord que le harnais extérieur est attaché au harnais du
brancard.
Lorsque le parent est couché sur le brancard, confortablement installé contre le dossier et qu'il est correctement
maintenu, de manière sécurisée, grâce au harnais à 4 points d’attache, jambes maintenues, commencez à fixer le
harnais extérieur Kangoofix.
Les 5 sangles grises du harnais extérieur Kangoofix doivent être attachées au harnais du
brancard, en passant chacune des sangles Kangoofix autour de la sangle du harnais attaché au
brancard, pour être à nouveau enfilées dans l’orifice se trouvant à l’extrémité de la sangle
Kangoofix. Elles doivent ensuite être serrées fermement. Une sangle Kangoofix doit être attachée
à chaque sangle du harnais du brancard à 4 points d'attache ; faites passer une sangle autour de
chaque épaule du patient et sur la taille, de chaque côté. La 5ème sangle Kangoofix sera attachée
à la sangle du brancard au niveau de la cuisse.
Le harnais intérieur Kangoofix ainsi que la couverture chauffante seront ensuite posés sur le nouveau-né de manière à
l'envelopper, en s'assurant tout d'abord que le soutien cervical/dorsal est placé correctement dans l'enveloppe de
maintien du harnais intérieur.
Envelopper le nouveau-né dans le harnais intérieur, avec le côté rouge du harnais intérieur côté peau du bébé et la
partie grise vers l'extérieur, en utilisant les coussinets de fixation circulaires servant à attacher le harnais intérieur à
l'avant. Commencez par poser le harnais intérieur autour des jambes du nouveau-né, pour ensuite couvrir les épaules.
Le harnais intérieur doit être déployé et réglé de manière à envelopper fermement le nouveau-né, ni trop souple, ni trop
serré.

Veillez à ce que la plaque de soutien cervical/dorsal du harnais intérieur soutienne
correctement le nouveau-né.
Placez ensuite le nouveau-né dans la couverture chauffante, en l'orientant de manière à ce que les coussinets de
fixation se trouvant à l'extérieur de la couverture chauffante pointent vers le bas. Les rabats se trouvant à l'avant de la
couverture chauffante sont ensuite rabattus de part et d'autre du nouveau-né et sont attachés au moyen des coussinets
de fixation du harnais intérieur, pour former un cocon autour du nouveau-né. Le côté rouge doit être en contact avec la
peau du nouveau-né.
Placez ensuite la calotte de protection crânienne sur la tête du nouveau-né.
Veuillez noter que l'utilisation de la couverture chauffante est facultative. Vous pouvez vous contenter d'utiliser le
harnais intérieur, selon les cas.
L'étape suivante consiste à poser le nouveau-né sur la poitrine du parent couché sur le brancard, visage face au parent
en question, à distance des boucles de maintien ou des sangles du brancard.
La boucle centrale à décrochage rapide du Kangoofix doit être attachée au coussinet de fixation au dos de la
couverture chauffante (ou au dos du harnais intérieur, à défaut de matelas chauffant).
Assurez-vous que parent et bébé sont correctement et confortablement installés. Commencez alors à attacher les
sangles du harnais extérieur Kangoofix à la boucle centrale située au dos du matelas chauffant (harnais intérieur).
Attachez, l'une après l'autre, les 5 sangles Kangoofix à la boucle centrale, en commençant par les sangles qui doivent
être attachées au brancard au niveau de la taille, ensuite les jambes, et puis les épaules. Lorsque vous attachez les
sangles, veillez à les serrer suffisamment de manière à ce qu'elles ne soient pas trop souples, jusqu'à ce que vous
soyez certain que bébé et parent sont confortablement et correctement installés.

Il est possible que vous deviez réajuster et resserrer les sangles ultérieurement pour que le nouveau-né soit
correctement installé et que chaque sangle Kangoofix soit réglée de manière à ce que le « cocon » enveloppant le
nouveau-né ne bouge pas.

5. Consignes d'utilisation par étapes
Vous trouverez ci-dessous une procédure simplifiée par étapes vous expliquant comment déployer un système
Kangoofix.
1. Tout d'abord, il est particulièrement important de vérifier si la plaque de protection cervicale/dorsale se trouve dans le
harnais intérieur avant son utilisation.
2. Détachez les 5 sangles de la ceinture de sécurité des 5 points d'attache de la boucle à décrochage rapide.
3. Connectez les sangles à poser sur l’épaule, la taille et la cuisse du harnais extérieur Kangoofix en les faisant passer
autour du harnais attaché au brancard à 4 points d’attache et du harnais au niveau des cuisses.
