UNPACKING
Carefullyunpackallthecomponents.
BATTERIES
Thisclockrequires3AAbatteries(notincluded).Theseshouldbereplacedatleast
every12monthsorwhenthependulumorchimesstopworkingcorrectly.
CHIME
ThistimepieceplaysaWestminsterchimemelodyonthehourandhasanautomatic
shut-off.Theclockdoesnotchimebetween10:00p.mand6:00a.m.Toensurethat
your clock functions correctly, please follow the time and chime setting precisely.
Theclockwillchimeduringthedayandwillautomaticallyturnoffatnight.
1. Pullupwardsonthebackpanel.
2. BEFOREinsertingthebatteries,settheclockto6:05AM.
3. Insert1AAbatteryintotheclockbatterychamberaccordingtothepositive(+)
andnegative(-)symbols.
4. Insert2AAbatteriesintothechimebatterychamberaccordingtothepositive(+)
andnegative(-)symbols.Makesurethebatteriesaresecureintheholder.Theclock
willchimeautomatically6times.
5. Now turn hands (using the knob) slowly to the present hour (in a clockwise
direction).
Remember that the clock started at 6:05 in the morning. If setting at night, for
exampleto9:20p.m.,thehandsshouldbeturnedthus:7,8,9,10,11,12,1,2,3,4,
5,6,7,8,9,andthen9:20.Thelaststrikeyouwillhearwillbe9times.
NOTE:Whenmovinghandstothepresenttimetheclockwillbeginchiming.Donot
be concerned about this. The last strike you hear after setting the clock at the
appointedtimewillbethecorrectone.
6. When replacing the batteries, remember that all the above must be repeated
frompointone,andtheclockmustbestartedagainat6:05a.m.Therefore,please
keeptheseinstructionsasareminder.Bythetimethebatteriesshouldbereplaced,
youmayhaveforgottenhowtosettheclock.
7. To operate without the chimes, remove the two batteries from the chime
batterychamber.
8. Neverturnclockhandscounterclockwiseasitwillinterruptthechimesequence
anddamagetheclock.
NOTE: When batteries are low, the chimes will not remain coordinated with the
timeontheclock.Whenthishappens,replacewithnewbatteriesandresettheclock
aslistedabove.
