PRODUCT SAFETY
We take your safety and safety of our products very seriously. To that end, we have
invested a significant amount of effort in supplying you, our customer, with the proper
information and necessary warning labels to inform and educate you on the safe and
responsible operation of your Foldy trailer and its accessories.
Despite our best efforts to inform and guide our customers to act responsibly, we are not
in a position to control our customers behavior nor can we be reasonably expected to
stop improper, negligent, irresponsible or reckless or unsanctioned use of our products.
It is important to understand, the Foldy trailer carries with some inherent safety risks
that go beyond its road worthy certificate of conformity and that cannot be ignored.
These risks are particular prevalent when the trailer is folded into the vertical position
and precautionary safety steps must be taken to avoid it from tipping over. Please take a
moment to understand these risks:
•The Foldy trailer weighs approximately 200 kg.
•When in the vertical folded position, the Foldy trailer’s center of gravity is raised.
•As the Foldy trailer is folded into the vertical position foot print of the trailer is
significantly reduced.
•On a smooth, horizontal, stable floor free of debris and any external forces the
Foldy trailer will stand stably in the vertical position.
•The trailer can be tipped over by external force (such as, but not limited to, a
push or bump or a knock) when it is unsupported and in the vertical position.
•Serious harm, injury and even death can result from the Foldy trailer tipping over
and landing onto someone.
•It is therefore of critical importance that the Foldy trailer never be allowed to rest
in the vertical position unsupported. The Foldy Trailer must rest up against a wall
in its final resting position or be strapped down on the specifically designed Foldy
mover cart in order to prevent it from tipping over.
•Never attempt moving the Foldy trailer when it is in the vertical (or near vertical)
position. This will result in the Foldy Trailer tipping over. The only exception is if
the Foldy trailer is strapped down on the specifically designed Foldy mover cart.
•Always ensure the floor is smooth, horizontal, stable and free of debris before
folding your Foldy trailer.
•Never attempt to fold the trailer on a slope. This will result in the trailer tipping
over.
•We highly recommend that two persons complete the folding and unfolding tasks
for the Foldy trailer.

USER MANUAL
1.INTRODUCTION
Congratulations and thank you for becoming a proud owner of the Foldy trailer. The Foldy
is a premium quality trailer has been manufactured to ISO 9001 standards and certified
according to the EU framework directive 2007/46/EC for the manufacture and approval of
motor vehicles and their trailers.
The Foldy’s unique retractable undercarriage has been subjected extensive drive and
overload testing on various road and off-road surfaces. Your model of Foldy is classed
as an O1 category trailer with a maximum permissible mass of 0.75 tonnes including the
transport load. We hope you will find the engineering and craftmanship of your Foldy
trailer of the highest satisfaction.
Accompanying your trailer should be your Certificate of Conformity (CoC) from Ebeco, the
manufacturer. It is important you keep this CoC document in a safe place. The CoC must
accompany the trailer should it ever change ownership or be subject to any form of motor
vehicle testing.
2.GENERAL OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
2.1 Towing Vehicle Requirements
The towing vehicle may be any motor vehicle equipped with a certified tow bar /
hitch. The total weight of the trailer and cargo must not exceed the rate given by the
towing vehicle manufacturer. Please refer the owner’s manual of your motor vehicle on
permissible towing weights should it be lower than the permissible load rating for a Class
O1 trailer.
2.2 Maintaining the Trailer Surface Finish.
The Foldy’s design and durable construction should provide a high level of utility and
reliability. Its laser cut construction with zinc plated steel and galvanised finishing should
ensure a long working life.
It is the durability of the zinc plating and galvanising that provide the outstanding anti-
corrosion performance for the steel construction. That said, zinc is a relatively ‘reactive’
metal and an inherent feature of galvanized steel parts is to gradually oxidize and tarnish.
It is the stable oxides that form on the zinc’s surface that determine its durability, and they
are formed progressively as the zinc treatment is exposed to the atmosphere creating a
barrier which ultimately ensures full protection from bad weather.
It is important to understand that possible visual changes in galvanized parts are not
manifestations of poor quality, but a natural consequence of the above phenomena.
The Foldy trailer’s design corresponds with the production documentation and technical
conditions for all the individual parts procured at the time of manufacture.

USER MANUAL
2.3 Surface Treatment Disclaimer
Galvanized and zinc plated parts are not resistant to aggressive chemicals (such as alkalis
or acids) and exposure to road salt. Therefore, after driving on (winter) roads treated
against ice and snow or exposing the trailer to any other environment with chemical
compounds, it is recommended to clean your Foldy trailer with fresh water.
2.4 Tyre Pressure Rating
The Foldy trailer is specified to use 4.50-10C tyres on 350B x 10H2 wheel rims and the
maximum allowed tyre pressure rating is 4.25 bar (425kpa) or 62 psi.
2.5 Wheel Bearings
Please ensure the wheel bearings of the wheel hubs run smooth. It is highly
recommended to have the wheel bearings check at your local MOT service station every
50,000 miles or 3 years. Should you use your trailer often on salted roads, regularly
transport corrosive materials (such as salt and fertilizer) or drive through deep water, we
recommend you increase the frequency of bearing checks.
It is also worth checking for unwanted bearing noise (such as grinding or friction whine)
when spinning the wheels. This can be easily done when raising the trailer off its wheels
during the fold up procedure.
2.6 Connecting Device (Hitch Joint Socket)
The tow arm of the Foldy must be attached to a motor vehicle via an approved tow bar or
hitch. Please ensure the trailer’s tow arm joint socket always has lubricating grease inside
the socket. This will enable a smooth and tight fit coupling onto the ball of the motor
vehicle tow bar when attaching the trailer.
2.7 Electrical Connector
The Foldy trailer is equipped standard with a 13 pole 12 V connector. Should the towing
vehicle use a 7-pole plug connector, please ensure a 13-pole female to 7-pole male
adapter is installed securely to make electrical contact. Regardless of the connector
specification used, all electrical connector pins (male and female) should be free of
oxides and dirt to ensure proper electrical contact and no shorting. The contacts on the
connector are not waterproof and the connector pins should face downwards when not
attached to the motor-vehicle.
2.8 Trailer Lights
The trailer lights are not waterproof and should not be immerse into water. Should your
trailer be used for landing boats (or any other watercrafts) via a jetty, please ensure the
lights are not lowered into water. Please consult your boat trailer dealer for waterproof
lights and dedicated boat trailers.

USER MANUAL
Please replace any blown lightbulbs with the same specification of bulbs. Using brighter
bulbs with higher Wattage can result in the tail lights becoming very hot and cause a fuse
to short in your car.
3. IDENTIFICATION
The trailer is produced by EBECO, s. r. o. The production label with VIN number is placed
on the right side of the front frame. VIN number is stamped on trailer frame. The VIN will
also be recorded on your CoC document.

5. CONNECTING THE FOLDY TRAILER TO
YOUR TOWING CAR
Place the safety cables over the tow bar
ball-joint of your car.
STEP 1 – ENSURING A SAFE TOW BAR CONNECTION
Now push down on the tow arm so that
the handle forces shut as the socket-joint
makes a secure coupling with the ball-joint
of the tow bar.
If the trailer’s cargo bay is loaded, the load
weight should assist in lowering the tow
arm socket onto the ball-joint.
Lift the handle on the Foldy trailer’s socket-
joint, lowering it onto the ball of your car’s
tow bar.
The socket joint should rest naturally under
its own weight onto the ball of your car’s
tow bar.
11
Foldy Trailer 750 Series - User Manual V1.0

If the tow arm socket-joint does not
naturally rest on the ball-joint and tips up,
you must redistribute the load in the cargo
bay to ensure there is enough natural
downward pressure onto the tow bar.
SAFETY NOTIFICATION
Connect the 13-pole electrical plug to its
corresponding receiving socket on your car.
Turn the plug connector clockwise about 45
degrees to ensure it is locked.
DO NOT FORCE THE SOCKET-JOINT ONTO THE TOW BAR BALL-JOINT IF THE
TOW ARM TIPS UP AWAY FORM YOUR CAR’S TOW BAR.
YOU MUST EVENLY REDISTRIBUTE THE TRAILER LOAD FIRST FOR SAFE
CONNECTION TO YOUR CAR!
STEP 2 – CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL PLUG
Foldy Trailer 750 Series - User Manual V1.0
12

If your car uses an older 7-pole electrical
plug, insert a 13-pole female to 7-pole male
adapter between the electrical plug and the
receiving socket on the car.
Ensure that all components are securely
fastened and cannot loosen while driving.
Rotate the nose wheel arm away from the
car so that it is parallel to the trailer tow
arm.
Loosen the ring nut holding the nose wheel
in place.
STEP 3 – RAISE THE NOSE WHEEL
13
Foldy Trailer 750 Series - User Manual V1.0

Reinsert and fasten ring nut securely in
order to keep the nose wheel in place.
Do not overtighten the ring nut with levered
tools.
Ensure the sidewall latches of the trailer are
securely closed.
Each latch has a locking clip that should
be properly closed to prevent spontaneous
opening of the latches during transport.
STEP 4 – ENSURE CARGO IS SECURED & CHECK THE LATCHES
Check that the cargo you wish to transport is evenly distributed and balanced between
the left and right sides of the trailer.
Using the appropriate straps and bungy cords, securely fastened down your cargo load.
STEP 5 – CHECK THE WHEELS & TYRE PRESSURES
Check to ensure no wheel bolts have come loose or gone missing.
Fasten any loose wheel bolts (to 90Nm of torque) and replace any missing wheel bolts
before driving with your trailer.

6. DRIVING WITH THE TRAILER
Please note, when driving with a trailer, braking and acceleration performance is reduced
proportional to load being towed. For your own safety and the safety of other road
users, it is necessary to take the increased brake distance and acceleration time into
consideration when driving. You are, therefore, obligated to adapt your driving style to
encompass the changes in braking and accelerating parameters.
Some useful tips include:
•Maintain longer following distance between yourself and the car in front of you.
•Keep reckon of longer distances required when overtaking other vehicles. Always
remember that your trailer extends the rear of your car by an additional 3m.
•Try to avoid frequent hard braking and acceleration. Maintaining smooth
acceleration and slow braking will not only be more economical (and result in
lower emissions), but also result in a higher average speed and safer driving.
7. INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLDING YOUR TRAILER
There are two methods for folding your Foldy trailer to store it in a safe manner:
1. Quick folding without side wall removal
2. Folding with side wall removal
For each, please follow the procedures given below correctly to ensure safe work.
7.1 QUICK FOLDING WITHOUT SIDE WALL REMOVAL
We recommend you use this procedure for folding your trailer whenever possible. Folding
the trailer without removal of the sidewalls provides the following considerations:
•The procedure is the quickest to folding and unfolding. This is ideal for fast regular
use.
•It offers the highest level of safety and stability when the trailer is stored in the
vertical position.
•There is an increased space requirement because sidewalls of the trailer’s will
increase vertical footprint by an additional 30cm. This is the trade-off you need to
consider.
Foldy Trailer 750 Series - User Manual V1.0
16

For safety reasons, ensure the following
folding of your trailer will be completed on
a flat (horizontal) and stable floor free of
debris.
REMINDER - WORK SPACE PREPARATION
Loosen the ring bolt on the nose wheel and
extend the arm forward.
STEP 1 – EXTEND THE NOSE WHEEL OUTWARDS
Once the nose wheel is extended, reinsert
the ring bolt and fasten the nose wheel arm.
Then lower the tow arm to let the Foldy
trailer rest on the tow arm.

Stop rotating the crank handle when the
trailer has been raised approximately 45
degrees off the floor.
Turn the ratchet crank handle clockwise to
raise the trailer off its wheels.
STEP 3 – FOLD THE TRAILER HALF WAY
At the rear of the trailer, check that the wire
clips or loops of the rear safety bolts at the
tail gate are folded flat against the trailer
before you start folding the trailer.
If the bolts are tight, release the rear tail
gate latches to elevate the tension on them.
Remember to close the latches again once
the safety bolt loops are in the correct
position.

DO NOT RAISE THE TRAILER UP TO
THE VERTICAL OR NEAR VERTICAL
POSITION UNLESS THE TRAILER IS AT
ITS FINAL STORAGE LOCATION WHICH
MUST BE AGAINST A WALL.
THE TRAILER WEIGHS
APPROXIMATELY 200Kg AND WILL
CAUSE SEVERE INJURY AND EVEN
DEATH SHOULD IT FALL ON YOU OR
SOMEONE ELSE!
