DESCRIPTION
Models SM-3512U and SM-3520U are professional stereo mixers with 12 and 20 channels respectively and
they are suitable for live applications, PA for musical groups, boardrooms, schools, churches, etc.
Each input channel has a 3-band equalizer, gain, high pass filter, 2 aux send, balance and output channel
allocation and cueing. It incorporates +48 V Phantom in the microphone inputs, selectable. It also includes
MP3 player with USB port for USB memory connection and SD card reader.
Furthermore, it has recording, headphone, monitor, main outputs and an alternative sub-mix output.
CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
FRONT PANEL
1.- MIC: balanced microphone input, female XLR connector. This connector has
selectable +48 V phantom power supply. The pre-amplification circuit provides
gain without distortion and with a low level of noise.
2.- LINE: balanced line input, 6.3 mm stereo jack connector. Unbalanced signals
can also be connected.
3.- LOW CUT: pressing this button activates the high pass filter with a steep
attenuation slope. The cut off frequency is 75 Hz. This filter is used for reducing
electric noise and background noise on stages when microphones are used.
4.- GAIN: input gain control. For the microphone input, the input sensitivity can
vary between -10 and -60 dB and for the line input between +10 and -40 dB.
5.- EQ: tone controls. Equalizer that adjusts the bass, mid and treble level in the
corresponding channel. Controls with a gain of ±15 dB:
HIGH: low pass filter with cut off frequency of 12 kHz.
MID: band pass filter with central frequency of 2.5 kHz.
LOW: high pass filter with cut off frequency of 80 Hz.
6.- AUX 1: volume control for sending the pre-fader to the AUX bus.
7.- EFX 2: volume control for sending the post-fader to the EFX bus.
8.- PAN (BAL): control that adjusts the mono channel stereo image or the stereo
channel balance in the final mix.
9.- MUTE ALT 3-4:button for selecting between sending the channel output to
bus from the MAIN mix or to the ALT 3-4 sub mix bus. In this case, it mutes the
signal in the MAIN bus.
10.- CLIP:LED indicator that lights up when the input signal level is too high. In this
case, the input level is decreased using the GAIN control until the indicator goes
off or only lights up occasionally.
11.- LED indicator that lights up when the PFL control is active.
12.- PFL: pre-fade listen. Sends the signal to the PFL bus and allows activation of
the monitoring of the channel signal through the headphone output and the
CONTROL ROOM output. To see the PFL bus level in the STEREO LEVEL
DISPLAY level LED indicator place the MAIN/PFL button in the PFL position.
13.- FADER: sliding volume control for the output signal from the channel that is
sent to the MAIN mix bus or the ALT 3-4 sub mix bus, according to the selection
made with the MUTE/ALT 3-4 control.

14.- LINE 9/10, 11/12: balanced line level inputs with the possibility
of connecting mono or stereo inputs, 2 x 6.3 mm (balanced)
stereo jack connectors. If you wish to use channel as a mono
channel, only use channel L.
15.- STEREO AUX RETURNS 1/2: aux inputs generally used for
connecting the return from the audio signals sent to an
external processor using the AUX SENDS 1 and 2 (EFX)
outputs. They allow stereo or mono input connection, using
only the left input channel. 2 x 6.3 mm stereo jack connector.
NOTE: if you wish to use the internal effects processor,
nothing should be connected to the AUX RETURN 2, so as not
to cancel the internal processor.
16.- REC: line level recording output from the MAIN MIX output.
17.- TAPE: unbalanced line level input for directly allocating to the MAIN MIX output or CONTROL ROOM.
To see the level of the TAPE input in the LED STEREO LEVEL DISPLAY indicator, move the MAIN/PFL
button to the MAIN position and choose the CD/TAPE source on the SOURCE selector.
18.- AUX SENDS 1: signal output for the mix from the channels allocated to the AUX pre-fader auxiliary
sender, 6.3 mm mono jack connector.
19.- AUX SENDS EFX 2: signal output for the mix from the channels allocated to the EFX post-fader aux
sender, 6.3 mm mono jack connector.
20.- MP3 MUTE/MP3 TO CH11/12: button for muting the USB/SD/MP3 player output or sending it to the
11/12 stereo channel.
21.- SD: SD memory card connection slot.
22.- USB: USB port for USB memory connection.
23.- USB/SD/MP3 player controls:
PLAY/PAUSE: for starting or pausing playback.
STOP: stops the current playback. A long press on this button
allows you to change folders, then press the 7/8buttons to
select another folder.
REPEAT: changes the repeat mode of the tracks.
7/8: skips to the beginning of the previous/next track currently
playing. If you keep the button pressed, you can decrease/increase the volume of the player.
USB/SD: allows selection between the USB storage device and the SD memory card.
24.- Display for the selected effect.
25.- EFFECTS: control knob for selecting the effect. To use the internal
effects processor, adjust the EFX control of the channel that you wish to
send to the processor and the intensity of the effect with the STEREO
AUX RETURNS 2 (EFX) control. The signal can be sent from the effects
bus to the MAIN or ALT 3/4 output using the MAIN/ALT 3-4 control.

26.- STEREO AUX RETURNS 1/2 (EFX): volume control for the
signals connected to the STEREO AUX RETURNS 1 and 2
inputs. If no input is connected, adjust the intensity of the
channel effects sent to the AUX and EFX bus.
27.- MAIN/ALT 3-4: selects the bus sending of the effects
STEREO AUX RETURNS 2 (EFX) to the MAIN mixer bus or the
ALT 3-4 sub mix bus.
28.- AUX SENDS 1/2 (EFX): volume control for the AUX 1 and 2
(EFX) aux sender outputs.
29.- POWER: LED power indicator.
30.- PHANTOM +48 V: activates a +48 V phantom power supply
for the XLR microphone inputs.
31.- LED indicator of phantom power supply activation.
32.- STEREO LEVEL DISPLAY: LED indicators showing the signal
level from the MAIN MIX output or the inputs sent to the PFL
bus. Select the bus to be monitored with the MAIN/PFL
selector.
33.- CD/TAPE TO MAIN: sends the TAPE INPUT to the MAIN MIX.
34.- SOURCE: selection buttons for the signal sent to the cue through headphones and to the CONTROL
ROOM output. The CD/TAPE input, the ALT 3-4 sub mix bus or the MAIN mix bus can be selected.
35.- MAIN/PFL: for selecting the signal sent to the LED STEREO LEVEL DISPLAY indicators.
36.- PHONES/CONTROL ROOM: volume control for the signal sent to the cue through the headphones
and to the CONTROL ROOM output.
37.- ALT 3-4: sliding volume control for the ALT 3-4 output.
38.- MAIN MIX: sliding volume control for the MAIN MIX output.
39.- PHONES: stereo output for monitoring through headphones, 6.3
mm stereo jack connector.

REAR PANEL
1.- On/off switch.
2.- AC socket: for connecting the 100-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz power supply cable.
3.- MAIN L/R: balanced line level output for the MAIN mix bus, 2 x XLR connector.
4.- ALT 3-4: unbalanced line level output for the ALT 3-4 sub mix bus, 2 x 6.3 mm mono jack connector.
5.- CONTROL ROOM: unbalanced line level output for the PFL bus, 2 x 6.3 mm mono jack connector.
CONNECTION
- Before making any connection make sure that all the equipment has been switched off and disconnected
from the power supply.
- Check that all the sliding volume controls for each channel and the MAIN MIX level controls are at their
minimum.
- Connect the required equipment to the channel inputs. Use the XLR connector if it is a microphone or
the jack connector if it is a line level input.
- Pre-fader AUX and post-fader EFX aux senders can be used for connecting external audio processors.
The processor output can be connected to the mixer using the aux returns STEREO AUX RETURN 1 and
2 (EFX).
- Connect a USB device with FAT32 format or a SD memory card with MP3 files to the corresponding port
on the MP3 player and press the MP3 to CH 11/12 button.
- Connect the balanced MAIN output to a line level input on a power amp. If you wish you can connect
the CONTROL ROOM output to autoamplified monitored loudspeakers.
- Connect the equipment to the power supply.
-Switch the equipment on in the following order: firstly, the peripheral equipment, then the SM-3512U or
SM-3520U mixer and lastly the power amp.
-Adjust the gain on each channel while watching the input signal level through the PFL bus and the LED
STEREO LEVEL DISPLAY indicator.
- Adjust the volume for each channel using the volume controls and send the signal to the MAIN mix bus
with the MUTE/ALT 3-4 selector.
- Adjust the output level from the MAIN mix bus using the MAIN MIX volume controls.

DESCRIPCIÓN
Los modelos SM-3512U ySM-3520U son mezcladores estéreo profesionales de 12 y 20 canales
respectivamente, indicados para aplicaciones en directo, sonorización de grupos musicales, salas de
reuniones, colegios, iglesias, etc.
Cada canal de entrada dispone de un ecualizador de 3 bandas, ganancia, filtro paso alto, 2 envíos auxiliares,
balance y asignación a los canales de salida y preescucha. Incorpora alimentación phantom +48 V en las
entradas de micrófono, seleccionable. Incluye reproductor MP3 con puerto USB para conexión de memorias
USB y lector de tarjetas SD.
Además dispone de salidas de grabación, auriculares, monitor, principal y salida alternativa de submezcla.
CONTROLES Y FUNCIONES
PANEL FRONTAL
1.- MIC: entrada balanceada de micrófono, conector XLR hembra. Este conector
dispone de alimentación phantom +48 V seleccionable. El circuito de
preamplificación proporciona una ganancia sin distorsión y bajo ruido.
2.- LINE: entrada de línea balanceada, conector jack 6’3 mm estéreo. También
puede conectar señales desbalanceadas.
3.- LOW CUT: presionando este botón se activa el filtro paso alto con gran
pendiente de atenuación, la frecuencia de corte es 75 Hz. Este filtro se emplea
para reducir el ruido eléctrico y el ruido de escenario cuando se usan
micrófonos.
4.- GAIN: control de ganancia de la entrada. Para la entrada de micrófono la
sensibilidad de la entrada se puede variar entre -10 y -60 dB y para la entrada
de línea entre +10 y -40 dBu.
5.- EQ: controles de tono. Ecualizador que ajusta el nivel de graves, medios y
agudos en el canal correspondiente. Controles con una ganancia de ±15 dB:
HIGH: filtro paso bajo con frecuencia de corte de 12 kHz.
MID: filtro paso banda con frecuencia central de 2’5 kHz.
LOW: filtro paso alto con frecuencia de corte de 80 Hz.
6.- AUX 1:control de volumen de envío pre-fader al bus AUX.
7.- EFX 2:control de volumen de envío post-fader al bus EFX.
8.- PAN (BAL): control que ajusta la imagen estéreo del canal mono o del balance
del canal estéreo en la mezcla final.
9.- MUTE ALT 3-4:botón que permite seleccionar entre enviar la salida del canal
al bus de mezcla principal MAIN o al bus de submezcla ALT 3-4. En este caso
mutea la señal en el bus principal MAIN.
10.- CLIP:indicador luminoso que se enciende cuando el nivel de la señal de
entrada es demasiado elevado. En este caso disminuya el nivel de la entrada
mediante control GAIN hasta que el indicador luminoso se apague o se
encienda ocasionalmente.
11.- Indicador luminoso que se enciende cuando el control PFL está activo.
12.- PFL: escucha pre-fader. Envía la señal al bus PFL y permite activar la
monitorización de la señal del canal a través de la salida de auriculares y de la
salida CONTROL ROOM. Para visualizar el nivel del bus PFL en el indicador
luminoso STEREO LEVEL DISPLAY sitúe el pulsador MAIN/PFL en la posición
PFL.
13.- FADER: control de volumen deslizante de la señal de salida del canal que se
envía al bus de mezcla principal MAIN o al bus de submezcla ALT 3-4, según
la selección con el control MUTE/ALT 3-4.

14.- LINE 9/10, 11/12: entradas de nivel de línea balanceada
con posibilidad de conexión de entradas mono ó estéreo,
conector 2 x jack 6’3 mm estéreo (balanceado). Si desea
utilizar el canal como canal mono utilice únicamente el
canal L.
15.- STEREO AUX RETURNS 1/2: entradas auxiliares
generalmente usadas para conectar el retorno de las
señales de audio enviadas a un procesador externo
mediante las salidas AUX SENDS 1 y 2 (EFX). Permiten la
conexión de entradas en estéreo o en mono, utilizando
únicamente el canal de entrada izquierdo. Conector 2 x
jack 6’3 mm estéreo.
NOTA: si desea utilizar el procesador de efectos interno,
no debe conectar nada en la entrada AUX RETURN 2 para
no anular el procesador interno.
16.- REC: salida de grabación de nivel de línea de la salida MAIN MIX.
17.- TAPE: entrada de nivel de línea desbalanceada para asignación directa a la salida MAIN MIX o
CONTROL ROOM. Para visualizar el nivel de la entrada TAPE en el indicador luminoso STEREO LEVEL
DISPLAY sitúe el pulsador MAIN/PFL en la posición MAIN y escoja la fuente CD/TAPE en el selector
SOURCE.
18.- AUX SENDS AUX 1: salida de señal de la mezcla de los canales asignados al envío auxiliar pre-fader
AUX, conector jack 6’3 mm mono.
19.- AUX SENDS EFX 2: salida de señal de la mezcla de los canales asignados al envío auxiliar post-fader
EFX, conector jack 6’3 mm mono.
20.- MP3 MUTE/MP3 TO CH11/12: pulsador para mutear la salida
del reproductor USB/SD/MP3 o enviarla al canal estéreo
11/12.
21.- SD: puerto para conexión de tarjetas de memoria SD.
22.- USB: puerto USB para conexión de memorias USB.
23.- Controles del reproductor USB/SD/MP3:
PLAY/PAUSE: inicia o pausa la reproducción.
STOP: detiene la reproducción en curso. Una pulsación larga
de este botón permite cambiar de carpeta, después pulse los
botones 7/8para seleccionar otra carpeta.
REPEAT: cambia el modo de repetición de las pistas.
7/8: salta al inicio de la anterior/siguiente canción que se esté reproduciendo en ese momento. Si
mantiene pulsado estos botones, podrá realizar un disminuir/aumentar el volumen del reproductor.
USB/SD: permite seleccionar entre el dispositivo de almacenamiento USB y la tarjeta de memoria SD.
24.- Pantalla de visualización del efecto seleccionado.
25.- EFFECTS: control giratorio de selección de efecto. Para utilizar el
procesador de efectos interno, regule el control EFX del canal que
desea enviar al procesador y la intensidad del efecto con el control
STEREO AUX RETURNS 2 (EFX). Puede enviar la señal del bus de
efectos a la salida MAIN o ALT 3/4 con el control MAIN/ALT3-4.
