TheWNCE3001hasoneLED,whichindicatesthepowerandwirelessconnectionstatus.

Installation:
1. Carefullypeelofftheprotectivefilmcoveringyouradapter.
2. UseacomputertosetuptheInternetadapter.Duringsetup,makesureyourcomputer
isnotconnectedtotheInternet.YoucanrestoretheconnectionaftertheInternet
adapterinstallationiscomplete.
DisconnecttheEthernetcablefromyourcomputer,ifyouuseitforawired
networkconnection.
Ifyourcomputeriswirelesslyconnectedtoanetwork,stopyourwireless
connection.
3. ConnecttheInternetadaptertoyourcomputer.
UsetheFlatEthernetCable(included)toconnecttheInternetadaptertoyour
computer.
UsetheUSBpowercable(included)toprovidepowertotheInternetadapter.
4. VerifytheLEDisblinkinggreen,thenopenyourInternetbrowser.Itautomatically
displaysthesetuppage.Ifthesetuppageisnotdisplayed,typeeither
http://www.mywifiext.net,http://mywifiext.net,http://www.mywifiext.com,or
http://mywifiext.comasthebrowseraddress.Youcanuseanyofthesefourbrowser
addressestologintotheInternetadapter.
Note:InternetExplorerrecordsthebrowseraddress.IftheInternetadapter'sIP
addresssubsequentlychangesandyouarestillusingInternetExplorer,youhavetouse
oneoftheotherbrowseraddressestoaccessthedevice.
5. FollowtheinstructionsontheSetuppage.
SetupPage:
SelectyourlanguageandContinue(Inthisexample:English).
1. SelectExistingNetwork.
Thesmartwizardwillautomaticallydetectopenwirelessnetworks.
Selectyourexistingnetworkandcontinue(Inthisexample:FPECAZ).
2. ApplySecurity.
Enterthesecuritypassphraseandselectcontinue(Inthisexample:FPEducationCenter).
3. ConnecttoExistingNetwork.
Thesmartwizardwillnowattempttoconnecttotheexistingnetwork.
4. ReviewSettings.
Verifyyourwirelesssettingsarecorrect.
YourInternetadapterisnowconfigured.
Youmaynowcloseyourbrowser.

Note:Toensurecorrectheatdissipationandforrouterstability,itisimportantthatyouplace
yourInternetadapterinanuprightposition.
1. PastethestickerabovetheproductlabelonthebackoftheInternetadapter(Figure1).
2. MountyourInternetadapteronthebackofyourPostageMeter.Useacabletieto
wraparoundcablestoavoidatangledmess(Figure2).

ConnectivitySettingsandDownloadingPostage:
ConnectivitySetting.
1. PowerONPostBasemeterandwaituntilHomescreenisdisplayed.
2. SelectMenu,pressscrollbuttontwiceandselectManageConnection.
3. ThePostBasemeterwilldisplayitscurrentconnectionsettings.
4. Select ,thiswillallowyoutochangeyourcurrentsettings.
5. SelectEthernet,thenpress .
6. SelectDHCP=Enabled,thenpress .
7. SelectProxy=Disabled,thenpress .
8. Verifysettingsarecorrect,thenpress .ThePostBasemeterwill
attempttoestablishaconnection.
9. Whentheconnectionisestablished,thescreenwilldisplay“ConnectionTest
SuccessfullyFinished”.Press andyoumaynowDownload
Postage.
DownloadingPostage.
1. Press andselect .
2. Enterdesiredamountofpostage(minimumof$10),press to
continue.
3. Confirmtheamountbypressing .
Postagewillbegindownloadingimmediately;thisprocessmaytakeupto2minutes.

YoucanusetheResetButtonontherearpaneltoreturnyouradaptertoitsfactorysettings.
UseapinorpapercliptopresstheResetButtonandholditfor5secondsuntilthe
powerLEDblinksamber.

UsingtheUSBPowerCable
ConnecttheUSBpowercabletotheUSBportonthePostageMeter.IftheInternetadapterisnot
gettingenoughpower,thefollowingcanoccur:
TheLEDisredrightaftertheadapterispoweredon.
TheInternetadapterresetsitselfintermittentlyorturnsitselfoff.
TheInternetadapterhascontinuousdisconnectionduringtraffictransmission.
ChecktomakesurethatthePostageMeterispoweredon.Ifitis,itislikelythattheUSBportyou
areconnectedtodoesnotprovideenoughpowerfortheInternetadapter.Contactyouservice
representativeforfurtherassistance.

WhenIlaunchedmybrowser,Igotanerrorpage.WhatcanIdo?
Makesurethatyouincludehttp://whenyoutypethisURLintheaddressfieldofyourInternet
browser.Ifyouleaveitout,youmightnotbeabletoconnect.

address.YoucanuseanyofthesefourbrowseraddressestologintotheInternetadapter.
Note:InternetExplorerrecordsthebrowseraddress.IftheInternetadapter’sIPaddress
subsequentlychangesandyouarestillusingInternetExplorer,youhavetouseoneoftheother
browseraddressestoaccessthedevice.
Ifyoustartedupyourcomputer,connectedtheEthernetcabletotheInternetadapter,and
launchedyourbrowserquickly,thecomputermightstillneedacoupleofminutestorecognize
theEthernetLANconnectionandobtaintheIPaddress.
AlsocheckyourEthernetnetworkadaptericoninthesystemtrayconnectedonWindowsXP,or
checktheNetworkandSharingCenteronWindowsVistaandWindows7,tofindoutifthe
EthernetnetworkadapterhasobtainedanIPaddress.
Try launching your browser again.
Iftheproblemcontinues,makesurethatyourEthernetcableissecurelyconnectedto
theInternetadapterandthecomputer,andthattheLEDonthecomputer’sEthernet
portison.Ifitisnot,reconnecttheEthernetcable,andrelaunchyourInternetbrowser.
ConnecttoWirelessNetworks
Tojoinawirelessnetwork,youneedtoknowitsnetworkname(alsocalledtheSSID)sothat
youcanselectit.Ifthenetworkissecure,youneedtoknowthepassphraseorwirelesskey.
IftheInternetadapterdoesnotconnecttothenetworkthatyouchose,thefollowing
messagedisplays:
Connectionwasnotestablishedtotheselectednetwork.
Ifthishappens,itcouldbeduetooneofthesereasons:
Ifyouareunabletojointhewirelessnetwork,itispossiblethatthenetworkname,
passphrase,orkeywastypedincorrectly.
ClickCancel,usetheSmartWizardtoselectthenetworkfromthelist,andretypethe
passphraseorkey.Thisiscase‐sensitive.PASSWORD25isnotthesameasPassword25
orpassword25.IftheSmartWizarddoesnotfindyourwirelessnetwork(itisnot
displayedintheSelectExistingNetworkscreen),checktoseeifyourwirelessnetworkis
stillupandrunning.Makesuretherouteristurnedon.Ifpossible,movetheInternet
adapterclosertotherouter,andclickTryAgain.
Ifafterrepeatedattemptstoconnectyouarestillseeingthismessage,youmightneed
toupgradeyourroutertoonethatprovidesgreaterwirelessrange,orpurchasearange
extendertoextenditswirelessrangetoyourlocation.
IftheInternetadapterLEDisred,thiscouldindicateapoorwirelessconnection,orit
couldmeanthatnodataisbeingsentoverthewirelesslink.
First,tryusingyourcomputertoaccesstheInternet.SeeiftheLEDturnsa
differentcolorwhendataissentwirelessly.
Ifthewirelessconnectionispoor,checkthelocationoftheInternetadapterand
therouter.Thebestconnectionisestablishedwhenthereisaclearlineofsight
betweentheInternetadapterandtherouteryouareconnectingto.Makesure
therearenophysicalobstaclesbetweentheInternetadapterandtherouter,
andtrytomovetheInternetadapterclosertotherouter.
