Dave’sfirstSignatureamplifier,theSS‐100was
createdtoGuitaristExtraordinaire,SteveStevens’
exactingtonaldemands.TheSS100isa100‐watt
EL34poweredtwochannelplusBOOSTHighGain
tonemachinethatisalsocapableofproducing
manystylesofmusicfrombluestoclassicrock
andheavyrocktometalbysimplyadjustingthe
gainandmastercontrols.Likewisethegorgeous
cleanchannelisgreatforawholepaletteofstyles.
Youwillnoticeinstantly,thetightbottomendand
richharmonicallydetailedchordsandsinglenotes.
Thisampcleansupremarkablywellwiththe
guitar’svolumecontrol,evenwiththeampon
highergainsettings.

WhiletheSS100wasprimarilydesignedasahigh
gainamp,theSS100willsurpriseandimpressyou
withallthedifferenttonesavailable.Ifyouwant

7.WallorCeilingMounting
–Theproductshouldneverbemountedtoawall
orceiling.
8.Heat–Amplifiershouldbesituatedawayfrom
heatsourcessuchasradiators,heatregisters,
stoves,orotheramplifier(includingamplifiers)
thatproduceheat.
9.PowerSources–Thisproductshouldbe
operatedonlyfromthetypeofpowersource
indicatedontheratinglabel.

10.GroundingorPolarization
–Thisproductmaybeequippedwithapolarized
alternation‐currentlineplug(aplughavingone
bladewiderthantheother).Thisplugwillfitinto
thepoweroutletonlyoneway.Thisisasafety
feature.Ifyouareunabletoinserttheplugfully
intotheoutlet,tryreversingtheplug.Iftheplug
shouldstillfailtofit,contactyourelectricianto
replaceyourobsoleteoutlet.Donotdefeatthe
safetypurposeofthepolarizedplug.
11.Power‐CordProtection
–Power‐supplycordsshouldberoutedsothat
theyarenotlikelytobewalkedonorpinchedby
itemsplaceduponoragainstthem,paying
particularattentiontothecordincorrespondence
ofplugs,conveniencereceptacles,andthepoint
wheretheyexitfromtheamplifier.
12.Cleaning–Theamplifiershouldbecleaned
onlyasrecommendedbythemanufacturer.Clean
bywipingwithaclothslightlydampwithwater.
Avoidgettingwaterinsidetheamplifier.

14.Non‐usePeriods–Thepowercordofthe
amplifiershouldbeunpluggedfromtheoutlet
whenleftunusedforalongperiodoftime.
15.ObjectandLiquidEntry
–Careshouldbetakensothatobjectsdonotfall
andliquidsarenotspilledintotheenclosure
throughopenings.
16.DamageRequiringService
–Theamplifiershouldbeservicedbyqualified
servicepersonnelwhen:
A.Thepower‐supplycordortheplughasbeen
damaged;or

17.Servicing–Theusershouldnotattemptany
servicetotheamplifierbeyondthatdescribedin
theoperatinginstructions.
Allotherservicingshouldbereferredtoqualified
servicepersonnel.
18.Ventilation–Slotsandopeningsinthecabinet
areprovidedforventilationandtoensurereliable
operationoftheproductandtoprotectitfrom
overheating,andtheseopeningsmustnotbe
blockedorcovered.Theopeningsshouldneverbe
blockedbyplacingtheproductonabed,sofa,rug,
orothersimilarsurface.Thisproductshouldnot
beplacedinabuilt‐ininstallationsuchasa
bookcaseorrack.
19.Attachments–donotuseattachmentsnot
recommendedbytheproductmanufactureras
theymaycausehazards.
20.Accessories–Donotplacethisproductonan
unstablecart,stand,tripod,bracket,ortable.The
productmayfall,causingseriousinjurytoachild
oradult,andseriousdamagetotheproduct.Use
onlywithacart,stand,tripod,bracket,ortable
recommendedbythemanufacturer,orsoldwith
theproduct.
21.Lightning–Foraddedprotectionforthis
productbeforealightningstorm,orwhenitisleft
unattendedandunusedforlongperiodsoftime,
unplugitfromthewalloutlet.Thiswillprevent
damagetotheproductduetolightningand
powerlinesurges.
22.ReplacementParts–Whenreplacementparts
arerequired,besuretheservicetechnicianhas
usedreplacementpartsspecifiedbythe
manufacturerorhavethesamecharacteristicsas
theoriginalpart.Unauthorizedsubstitutionsmay
resultinfire,electricshock,orotherhazards.
23.SafetyCheck–Uponcompletionofanyservice
orrepairstothisproduct,asktheservice
techniciantoperformsafetycheckstodetermine
thattheproductisinproperoperatingcondition.
24.FUSES–Alwaysusethecorrectratingandtype
offuseasindicatedontherearpanel.Notethe
properratingfuseisdeterminedbytheACline
voltageinthecountrythisunitisbeingoperated.
25.ACSELECTSWITCH:Thisswitchmustbesetto
matchtheAClinevoltageinthecountrythisunit
isbeingoperated.
Tochangethesetting,loosen(donotremove)the
twoscrewsaboveandbelowtheslideswitch.
Temporarilymovetheprotectivecoverstripand
slidetheactuatortomatchthevoltageinyour
country.Placetheprotectivecoverstripbackover
theswitchandtightenthetwoscrews.

backthisoffabit.Startat7‐10forbedroomvolumes.
MIDDLECONTROL:Addsortakesawaymidrange.Startat5or6,lowersettingswillscoopthemids,
higherlevelswillallowyouraudiencetoactuallyheartheguitarinthemix.
TREBLECONTROL:Thisaddsortakesawaytreble.Startat5andadjusttotaste.
MASTERCONTROL:ThisistheSS100’sMASTERVOLUME.Themoreyouturnitupthelouderitgets.
GAINCONTROL:Thisaddsgain/distortion.Adjusttotaste.Don’tbeafraid.
