Tuning Adjustment S.BUS System
AVCS / NORMAL Modes
Setup before a run [ Remote gain use ]
Gain adjustments are carried out with a transmitter.
Follow this procedure when the gyro's port 2 and the receiver's gain
CH are connected (or connected via S.BUS).
1Runthecarinthegyrooffmode(gyrogain0%)and
adjustthesteeringtrim(subtrim).
2Selecttheappropriatesettingforthesteeringservothat
youareusing.ServoselectionswitchofGYC441should
bemovedtoSRmodeONorOFF.
*DonotuseanormaldigitalservointheSRservomode(ON).The
servomaybe damaged. Useanormaldigitalservo intheSRservo
mode(OFF).

Turnonyourtransmitter'spower.Setthegyro
sensitivitytoabout70%attheNORMALorAVCSside
inaccording tothetransmitter's instructionmanual.Refer
tothe<GAINCH><AVCS/NORMALModes>graphonthe
nextpage.
*Makethegaintuningadjustmentafterrunningthecarandnoting
thebehavior.
4ReceiverON → TheGYC441requires3-5secondsto
initializewhenthepoweristurnedon.Donotmove
thecaranddonotmovethesteeringwheelduringthis
initializationorthegyromaynotinitializeproperly.Once
theinitializationprocesshasbeencompleted,thesteering
servowillmoveslightlyseveraltimes,indicatingthatthe
GYC441isnowreadyforuse.Iftheneutralhasshifted,the
LEDwillblinkorange.Inthatcase,itreboots.
5Movethesteeringwheelleftandrightandadjustthe
limittrimmertomaximizeservooperationwithout
bindingthecontrollinkageormechanicallimits.
Drive the vehicle and adjust the gyro sensitivity.
1Alwaysre-trimwiththegyrogainat0.
2Inthisstate,turnthereceiverpowerOFF → ON. The
neutralpositionismemorized.Steeringtrimmustnot
beperformedwhilethecarisrunning.
Thegyro has2operatingmodes:NORMALmode andAVCS
mode.InAVCSmode,theangleiscontrolledsimultaneously
withNORMALmode'srate control(swingspeed).TheAVCS
modeincreases straightstabilitymorethanNORMAL mode.
Chooseyourmodetomatchyourpreferences.

manual.NeutralpositionbecomesGAIN0%.Itisdividedinto
AVCSsideandNORMALside.RefertotheGYC441'sLED.
WhenPort2isnotusedforgainandSBUS/SBUS2isnot
used,thetrimmerworksasthegainadjustmentshown
below.

Unlikeconventionalradiocontrolsystems,theS.BUSsystem
sendsoperatingsignalsfromthereceivertoa gyroor other
S.BUScompatibledevicesbydatacommunication.TheS.BUS
compatibledeviceexecutesonlyexecutesdataforthechan-
nelsitsets.Forthisreason,multipleservoscanbeconnected
tothesamesignalline.
TheS.BUSsystemrequiresadedicatedS.BUSreceiverand
S.BUSservo(gyro,etc.).

6Usingthegyrodirectionswitch,adjustthegyro
directionsothatsteeringmovesallthewaytothe
rightwhen thecaris turnedtotheleft.Correctly setgyro
operatingdirectionorthecarwillnotrun.
[ When remote gain function is off ]
Adjust the gyro sensitivity with the GYC441 trimmer.
If port 2 of gyro is not connected, remote gain is automatically
prohibited. (S.BUS connection is excluded)
In this case, the limit trimmer is automatically changed to the
gyro sensitivity setting trimmer.

youareusing.TheGYC441's servoselectionswitchof
GYC441shouldbemovedtoSRmodeONorOFF.

right:AVCS(red)fromthe70%point.
3ReceiverON → TheGYC441requires3-5secondsto
initializewhenthepoweristurnedon.Donotmove
thecaranddonotmovethesteeringwheelduringthis
initializationorthegyromaynotinitializeproperly.Once
theinitializationprocesshasbeencompleted,thesteering
servowillmoveslightlyseveraltimes,indicatingthatthe
GYC441isnowreadyforuse.Ifneutralhasshifted,LEDwill
blinkorange.Inthatcase,itreboots.
4Usingthegyrodirectionswitch,adjustthegyro's
operatingdirectionsothat steeringmovesall theway
totherightwhenthecaristurnedtotheleft.Correctlyset
theoperatingdirectionorthecarwillnotrun.
● Trimmeroperation
*Sincethisgyroisverysmall,theadjustmenttrimmerisasmallpart.Al-
waysoperatethetrimmerwiththeincludedminiscrewdriverwithout
applyingexcessiveforce.
*Limitissymmetricalfromtheneutral
position.Onlyproceedwiththelimit
adjustmentaftercompletingthetrim
adjustment.
Gyro Sensitivity and mode Switching
Whentheremotegainfunctionisnotused,theclockwise
directionfromthecenterofthesensitivitysettingtrimmeris
AVCSmodeandthecounterclockwisedirectionisNORMAL
mode.Atthecenterposition,thesensitivitybecomeszero
andwhenthetrimmeristurnedfullytotheleftorright,the
sensitivitybecomes100%.
