Test the board!
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will troubleshooting help
be offered if you have skipped this stage. No ex eptions.
On e you’ve finished the ir uit it makes sense to test is before starting on
the swit h and LED wiring. It’ll ut down troubleshooting time in the long
run. If the ir uit works at this stage, but it doesn’t on e you wire up the
swit h - guess what? You’ve probably made a mistake with the swit h.
Solder some ni e, long lengths of wire to the board onne tions for 9V, GND,
IN and OUT. Conne t IN and OUT to the ja ks as shown. Conne t all the
GNDs together (twist them up and add a small amount of solder to ta k it).
Conne t the battery + lead to the 9V wire, same method. Plug in. Go!
If it works, ra k on and do your swit h wiring. If not... aw man.
At least you know the problem is with the ir uit. Find out why, get it
working, THEN worry about the swit h et .
