Important Note:
This product is designed to prohibit operation unless it is
fully assembled with the UV lamp base screwed completely
into the lamp housing. UV rays are harmful to your eyes and

cleaning system and does not need to be disassembled to be cleaned.
1. Turn the power off to the pump connected to your pressurized filter.
2. Disconnect your water feature tube attached to the “OUT” nozzle and
3. Move the handle from “WORK”’ to “CLEAN” and switch your pump on.
4. The water flow is now reversed through the filter media.
5. The solids are expelled from the pressure filter via the UV
expelled and clear water is discharged from filter.

The frequency of cleaning varies according to pond size, however, it is recommended to backwash the pressurized filter at least once a month, especially
during the warmer summer months. You can also backwash the pressurized filter if you notice a significant drop in water clarity.
Replacing the Bulb (Bulb Type – 7 Watt UV)
The UV lamp has a projected life of 4,000 hours, which means that if you use the light continuously for 5 months per year, in most regions of the country, it
will last one year. The unit should remain on 24 hours a day throughout the season. For the best possible performance, replacement of the lamp is
recommended every year because it slowly degrades with use. While you may be able to see visible light through the the UV safe clear plastic cap on the
top cover, the lamp will produce visible light long after it has stopped producing the UV wavelength.
The quartz sleeve should be cleaned periodically to eliminate dirt or lime scale build-up that will block the UV light and reduce its efficiency. Clean the
bulb sleeve with self-cleaning function.
To replace the bulb:
● Disconnect the UV lamp from the power source.
● Let the lamp cool and then disassemble the filter as in Assembly steps 2-6 shown above (Fig.1).
● Remove the UV bulb from the lamp socket by pulling firmly on the base of the UV bulb.
● Replace the UV bulb with an approved UV bulb only.
3
● Insert the new bulb into the socket and place it back into the lamp sleeve.
● Reassemble the lamp and top cover assembly before reconnecting to the power source.
Winterizing
It is necessary to drain the water from the pressurized filter in those areas that experience freezing temperatures in the winter.
1. Turn your pump off and disconnect the power to the pressurized filter.
2. Detach the hoses to the presurrized filter and unlock the filter head from the filter bucket by pulling the lever of the metal clamp to release it.
3. Pull the filter head assembly straight up to access the filter sponges.
4. Completely drain the filter bucket and clean the filter sponges, filter basket, and bio-media with fresh water and dry completely before storing indoors.
If your filter is buried, follow steps 1-4 above and store the filter head indoors. You may leave the filter bucket buried, but, cover it to prevent water from
collecting inside which may freeze and crack the bucket.
