1.2 Package content
PREPARATIONS

Read user and installaon manual before
using or installing the appliance.
Install and check the applicaon
according to the instrucons. GARO is
not liable for any damages or expenses
caused by inappropriate installaon.
Check that the Stove Guard is compable
with the cooker (see secon 1.1).
If the network cable is damaged, it must
be replaced by the service personnel of
the manufacturer or their representave
to avoid hazards.
All electrical connecons must be carried
out by a qualied electrician.
⚐ATTENTION
If the appliance was stored in a cold
space, it must be allowed to warm up to
room temperature before connecng it to
electric network.

Make sure that there is no power supply
to the cooker and the oven by removing
their fuses. Also ensure that the cooker is
switched o.
OUT-wires are always energized when
the power control unit is connected to the
electrical network. If a wire is loose, it must
be properly covered.
Do not install the power control unit to
excessive heat: See operaonal ambient
temperature on the power control unit Ⓒ.
⚐ATTENTION
Install the power control unit Ⓒ so that it
is not exposed to moisture. Check that all
cables can move freely.
If you are replacing the cooker or the
power control unit, see chapter 4 manual
adjustment mode.

SR3 will automacally recognize the
cooker type during cooking to minimize
false alarms: to speed up the auto-
recognion, you may manually select the
cooker type according to the chapter 4.3.

Ensure the correct sensor direcon:

the cooker. The sensor unit Ⓐ should be
mounted on the centerline of the cooker.

ѧHINT
Most building automaon systems are equipped with inputs that are designed in a way
that they do not need the pull-up resistors. One example of this kind of input is a 2-terminal
input designed for connecng between relay contacts (potenal free connecon). In this
kind of situaon the AUX can usually be wired directly to the automaon system. The only
thing that must be observed is the current ow direcon (IN >OUT) and that the current
passing through must be limited to less than 10 mA by the automaon system.

⚐ATTENTION
The inversed mode will create a larger load for the connected system, because both signals
will be ON most of the me. For example, this may be harder for baery operated external
clients. However, it will not aect the GARO system's own baery life.

1.1 Important Use and Service

The Stove Guard must be used for its
intended purpose only, as described in
chapter 2.1. SAFERA Oy is not liable for
any damages caused by inappropriate
use or installaon of the appliance.
ѥWARNING
The Stove Guard does not replace statu-
tory home re alarms. Ensure that re
safety at your home follows the local
regulaons.
⚐ATTENTION
Only authorised SAFERA service person-
nel are allowed to service the safety sys-
tem. Use only original SAFERA parts.
1.2 Baery safety informaon
ѥWARNING
Failure to follow the instrucons below
may cause the baeries to leak uid and
gas, or even explode.
• Do not expose baeries to excessive
heat, insert them with wrong polarity,
or try to recharge them.
• Always replace all baeries at once,
using the same make, model and age
for all baeries.
• Do not leave empty baeries inside the
device for prolonged periods.
• Recycle the empty baeries properly,
do not place in domesc waste.
• If the leaked uid gets into your eyes, do
not rub them, as there is a risk of losing
eyesight. Rinse your eyes with water
and contact a physician immediately.
• If the leaked uid gets into your
mouth,rinse with water and contact a
physician immediately.
• If the leaked uid gets on your skin or
clothes, rinse with large amounts of
water to prevent burns.

3.1 Seng the Alarm Limit

ѥWARNING
The Stove Guard is controlling the oven
only if the oven is connected to the power
control unit Ⓒ.
The cooker’s hot-hob indicators do not
work aer the Stove Guard has switched
o the cooker. The hobs may sll be hot.
⚐ATTENTION
The Stove Guard is designed to avoid
raising unnecessary alarms. This means
that it allows the temperature to rise
quite high during cooking without raising
an alarm.
It does not sound an alarm unl it looks
like the situaon may cause danger to
the surroundings.
