1SafetyMeasures
Donotputthemachineintooperationuntil anappropriatepreparation iscarriedoutby
aspecialistoranauthorisedperson, and untilyougetacquaintedwithsafetymeasures.
1. Anysewingmachinemaybeoperatedonlybya properlytrainedoperator.
2.Takeintoconsideration thesafetyregulationsvalidinyourcountry.
3.Thesewingmachinemaybeusedonlyfortheoperationsforwhichithasbeen.designed.
Otheroperationsareinadmissible.
4.Allsafetymeasuresmustbeobservedonthemachinebeforeputtíngintooperationand
during operation.
5. Itisadvisabletowearprotectiveglassestoensurepersonalsafetywhenworkingonthe
machine.
6. If youaregoingtomakeanymodificationsorchangeson themachineobservethesafety
regulations. Modificationscanonlybemadeatyourownrisk.
7.Themainswitchofthemachinemustbeswitchedoffortheplugmustbepulledoutofthe
socketofmainssupplywhenfollowing operationsaretobeperformed(ifyouus
mechanicallycontrolledclutchmotorswithouta fusepreventing themachinefrombeing
startedwiththepedalwaituntil themotorstops).
7.1Threadingtheneedlethread(threads), threadingthelooperthread, etc.
7.2Replacingneedles,presserfoot; stitchplate, looper, looperbobbin,feeddog, needleguard,
fingerguard, clothguide, etc.
7.3Whenyouleavetheworkplaceand.whenyouleavethemachineunattended.
7.4Machinemaintenance(cleaning).
8.Repairs, maintenanceandmodificationsofthemachine(seepoint6)maybecarriedoutonly
bya specialistoranauthorisedperson. Onlysparepartssuppliedbythemachinebuilder
shouldbeusedforrepairs.
9. Workson theelectricalpartsofthemachinecanonlybecarriedoutbyanelectricianorunder
anauthorisedperson'scontrolandsupervision.
10. Workingon"live"partsand equipmentisinadmissible.
11.Compressedairsupplyhastobedisconnectedbeforemaintenanceandrepairsofpneumatic
devices. Residualcompressedairhastobeletoffbeforetheworkscanbedone.
12.TheuserwillbeheldresponsibleifsafetymeasuresgivenintheInstructionsforUseareno
observed.
13. AninseparablepartoftheInstructionsforUseistheInstructionforuseoftherespective
drive whichmustbeobserved, aswell. Inparticularpoint3"SafetyInstructions".

2Puttingthemachineintooperation
Followinginstructionsmustbeobservedtoavoidriskoffailuresordamagetothe
machine:
-cleanthemachineofpreservingagents
-drop1-2dropsofoilintolooper
-removethefrontcoverand oiltheendsofneedlebarconnecting-rodandofthecross-head
slideofthreadtake-up.
-a specialistshallcheckiftheelectricalequipmentisingoodorderincl. necessaryvoltage
formotorand seetoitthatmachinehandwheelrotatestowardstheoperator(seearrow)
whentheelectricmotorisconnected.
-donotrunthemachineatfull speedduringthefirsttwoweeks, sewingshouldbeperformed
atca.3/4ofthemaximumspeed.
Caution!
Donotinterferewiththeelectricequipmentofthemachine, call anelectrician. Dangerof
electricalaccident. Whenworkingonthemachineorclosetothemachinetakecarethat
youdonotgivecausetoanaccident. Seetoitthatno liquidcangetintotheelectrical
equipmentandcausea short-circuitorany otherfailureoftheelectricalequipment.
Observethegenerallyvalidsafetyregulations.
Whenrunning themachine, beverycautiousespeciallyneartheneedle, trimmingknives,
threadtake-up and clothpressingelements.
Whenthemachineheadistiltedon itssupport,takespecialcaresothatthewholemachine
and supportmaynottiltover.
Totiltthemachineintoworkingposition taketheheadwithbothhandstoavoidanyinjury
betweenthetiltedmachineandthebaseplate.

3ThreadingtheUpper Thread
Caution!
Switchoff themainswitchand removeyourfeetfromthepedalsonthemachinesupportbefore
threadingsothatthemachinemaynotbestartedbyunintendedtreadingonthepedal.
Whenthreadingthethreadfrombobbinstand intoneedlefollowfigure1forsingleneedle
machine. Thethreadpass frombobbinstand tothreadguidesonthemachinehead(A, B)
throughauxiliarytensionerand threadguide(C), throughtensioner(D), tensionspring(E)and
threadtake-up levertotheneedle. Thethreadenterstheeyefromthesidewitha longgroove.
Onsingleneedlemachinesthreadingshouldbecarriedoutaccordingtofigurefollowingthe
arrowS.

Caution!
Switchoff themainswitchand removeyourfeetfromthepedalsonthemachinesupport
beforereplacingneedlessothatthemachinemaynotbestartedbyunintendedtreadingon
thepedal.

Havingchosentherightthickness (size)ofneedlewhosesystemcorespondstotheprescribed
kind (usually134 LR)loosenscrew(A,fig.3)onneedle barand insertneedle(B)asfarasitwill
go, i.e. up tothebottomoftheneedleholeintheneedle bar.Turntheneedlesothattherecess
abovetheneedleeyefacsthelooperpoint. Caution–whena greaterneedlesizehasbenchosen
itisnecessarytocheckifthelooperpointdoesnotcatchtheneedle–a possibleadjustmentof
looperpositionmustbecarriedoutbyanautorisedperson. Makesurethattheneedlepasses
throughthemiddleofthestitchplateopening. If itisnotthecase, checkup iftheneedleisnot
bent. Replacethedefectiveneedle.
5ReplacingHookBobbin, ThreadingHookThread
Thethreadpassesfromthebobbincase(A)throughslot(B)underspring(C)intothelooper
(fig. 4)insucha waythatthethreadwillbeunwoundfromthebobbininthedirectionofthe
arrow. Holda threadendofca. 5-6cmandinsertthebobbincasecontainingbobbinintothe
hookinsucha waysothatthethreadcanbeunwoundfromthebobbinsmoothly. Lockthe
bobbincase(A)inthelooperusingthelock(E).

6AdjustingStitchLength
Caution!
Switchoff themainswitchand removeyourfeetfromthepedalsonthemachinesupport
beforeadjustingstitchlengthsothatthemachinemaynotbestartedbyunintendedtreading
onthepedal.
Pushinthestitchlengthadjustingknob(A)inthecolumnofthemachinearm(fig. 6)and turn
thehandwheeluntiltheknoblocksdeeperintothearm.Turntheknobinthedirection ofarrow
(+)toincreasethestitchlengthorinthedirectionofarrow(-) toreducethestitchlength.
Adjustmentisdeterminedbythepositionofthetipofpointer(C)againstdivisionlinesonthe
diskofhandwheel(B).

Toensuresewingoffabriclayerswithouttheirdisplacementinthecourseoffeedingitis
possibletoadjustdifferentlengthsoffeedingdrivenbypress-wheelandfeedingbyrotaryfeed
dog. Toadjustshorterlengthsoffeedingdrivenbypresswheelmovecollar(A)onlever(B)
towardsfeedingshaft(D).Toincreasethelengthofpress-wheelfeedingmovecollar(A)from
theaxisofshaft(D).

press-wheelmakesitpossibletoachievenotonlythesamefeedingoffabriclayersbut, if
necessary, togatherorstretchoneofthefabrics.

Thesewingmachinesareequippedwitha safetyclutchon thelowershaft(A)fig. 8thatallows
theoperatortoturnthedrivingpartoflowershaft(A)whentheloopersorfeeddogsarelocked.
Theclutchconsistsofsegment(B)engagingwith.groove(C)inthediskon lowershaftbythe
pressureoftwosprings.Thespringpressurecanberegulatedwithhexagonscrews(D). If the
clutchisskippingoverfind outthecauseandremovethefault. Onlya specia!istisal!owedto
adjusttheclutchforce. Theclutchmustnotslipinthecourseofnormalsewing!Ifitisthecase
call a specialisttoexamineandadjustthemachine.
9Maintenance
Caution!
Switchoff themainswitchand removeyourfeetfromthepedalsonthemachinesupportbefore
cleaningandoilingofthemachinesothatthemachinemaynotbestartedbyunintended
treadingon thepedal.
Cleaning:
Keepthemachinescleanand atleastoncea day(depending onthefabricsused)removedirt
and wastefromthelooperand feeddogarea.If themachineisequippedwitha threadtrimmer
cleanthetrimmingarea, aswell. Donotusevolatileliquidsforcleaningtheywouldcause
damagestothemachineandtoyourhealth. Adryclothwilldo. Checkifthefilterscreenon
electricmotorisnotcloggedwithdust.
Oiling:
Themachineshouldbeoiledwithanoilnormallyusedforsewingmachines. Everyday, before
youstartsewingdroponedropofoil intooilingholesmarkedwithredcolouron themachine.

TheMainSwitcharemarked0and Iortheyhavegrey/greenand redbuttons. Pushingposition
ofthebuttonmarked"0"(red)means:off, pushingpositionofthebuttonmarked"I"
(grey/green)meanson.
Caution!
Beforeyoustartthemachinemakesurethatitisreadyforsewingand thereisnohardobject
placedundertheneedle.
11 FunctionofPedalsand Knee Lever
-Onmachinesequippedwithone(wide)pedalthepedalregulatessewingspeed. Whentreading
thepedalthesewingspeedincreasesup tomaximumspeed. If thepedalisinneutralposition
themachinestops. If thepedalistreadedbackwards(withtheheel)themachinewill-
dependingonitsmakeandtheabilitiesofthestop-motor-tack, cutthethreadandliftthe
pressingelement(press wheel, presserfoot). SeetheInstructionsforuseofstop-motorfor
detaileddescriptionofthefunctions.
-Onmachinesequippedwitha mechanicallyoperatedclutchthepedalregulatessewingspeed
and stopsthemachine. Presserfootisliftedwiththekneelever.
Note:Onmachineswithstop-motortheremaybepushbuttons(oneormore)installedonthe
machinehead. Theirfunctiondependson thetypeofthestop-motorusedandtheirconnectionis
describedintheInstructionforuseofstop-motor.

Installtheemptybobbinonthebobbinwindershaft(3). Wrapthebobbinthreataround the
emptybobbinina clockwisedirectionandpushin.
Thebobbinwinderwill stopautomaticallywhenthebobbinisfull.
Takeoff fullbobbin. Lockthethreadundertheclipand knife(4).Threadwillbecutand kept
thebobbinthreadfrominterferingwiththeneedlethread.

Clearancebetweenthetopendofthebobbincaserestinggrooveonthethroatplateand thetop
faceofthebobbincasestopperofthehook:1,4mm.
b)Toadjusttheneedleheightand thehookcourse. (Fig. 11)
Thehookmustbesointerrelatedwiththeneedlethatatthemomentwhenthehookpointbegins
totakeup theupperthreadloop, theupperedgeoftheneedleeyecomesaproximately1 ÷1,2
mm underthehookpoint.
Rotatethehandwheeltowardsyouuntiltheneedlereachesitsbottompositionand reacendsby
3mm. Inthisposition, thehookpointmustlieintheneedleaxis.
