INSTALLATION
Positionthe shredderontothe basket.Oncethe unit is
correctlypositionedonthe basket,plug it into a
standardACoutlet. (NOTE:The85x includesa safety
interlock.If the unit is not properlypositionedon the
basketthe interlockwill not beactivatedandthe unit will
notoperate.)
MATERIALSYOUCANSHRED
Yourshredderwill handlemost anytype of office paper
documents.Youcansafelyshreddocumentscontaining
staples,however,other metalitemsmaydamagethe
shredder.
ON/AUTO:
Simplyinsert paperinto the centerof thethroat. Once
your documenthasactivatedthetrigger switchthe unit
will turn onandoff automatically.
FORWARDANOREVERSE
Movingthe switchto eitherof thesepositionswill cause
the unitto runin thecorrespondingdirection.
ELECTRICALSAFEGUARDS
.Unplug your shredderbeforemovingit or whenit is
not in usefor anextendedperiodof time.
.Do not operatewith a damagedpowersupply cord or
plug,afterit malfunctions,or afterit hasbeen
damagedin anymanner.

85xSPECIFICATIDNS:
CLEARNINGJAMS
If a paperjam occurs,switch the unitto the reverse
position untilthe paperis out of thethroat. If ajam
occurswith papermorethan halfwaythrough the cutters
momentarilyswitch intothe REVERSEpositionuntil
about1/2" to 1" of shreddedpaperreversesout.Tearoff
two or threesheetsandswitch into the FORWARD
positionto clearthe paperjam. In somecases,it maybe
necessaryto alternatebetweenFORWARDand
REVERSEpositionsseveraltimesto helpclearexcess
paperfrom the cutting area.
THERMALCUT-OFFFEATURE
This shredderis designedfor low volumeshredding,and
is not intendedfor continuousoperation.This unit
featuresathermalcut-off devicethat automaticallyshuts
off the shredderif runfor anextendedperiodof time. If
this occurs,simply allowtheshredderto coolfor 30
minutesbeforeresumingoperation.
