This ppli nce is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It m y be plugged into n AC electric l outlet
(ordin ry household current).
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming ent ngled in
or tripping over longer cord. Longer det ch ble power-supply cords or extension cords re
v il ble nd m y be used if c re is exercised in their use. If longer det ch ble power-supply
cord or extension cord is used;
1) The m rked electric l r ting of the cord set or extension cord should be t le st s gre t s
the electric l r ting of the ppli nce, nd
2) The cord should be rr nged so th t it will not dr pe over the countertop or t bletop where
it c n be pulled on by children or tripped over unintention lly.
If the power-supply cord is grounding-type-3-wire cord with grounding prong on the plug,
the extension cord should lso be grounding-type-3-wire cord.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This ppli nce must be grounded while in use to protect the oper tor from electric l shock. The
ppli nce is equipped with 3-conductor cord nd 3-prong grounding-type plug to fit the
proper grounding-type recept cle. WARNING! Shock H z rd: If the plug on this ppli nce does
not fit in your outlet, do not modify the plug, nd do not use n d ptor. H ve n electrici n
repl ce the obsolete outlet.

CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or y nk on cord or the ppli nce.
2. To insert plug, gr sp it firmly nd guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect ppli nce, gr sp plug nd remove it from outlet.
4. Before e ch use, inspect the cord for cuts nd/or br sion m rks. If ny re found, this
indic tes th t the ppli nce should be serviced nd the cord repl ced.
5. Never wr p the cord tightly round the ppli nce, s this could pl ce undue stress on the cord
where it enters the ppli nce nd c use it to fr y nd bre k.

Using the percolator
• To m ke coffee, remove lid, spre der, b sket, nd stem. Fill with cold w ter to
desired level s indic ted by numbered servings on inside of percol tor. Do not fill
beyond MAX or grounds c n overflow into coffee.
• Wet b sket interior to keep sm ll coffee grounds from sifting through b sket. Pl ce
b sket on stem. Hold top of stem nd pl ce stem nd b sket into he ting unit well.
IF THE STEM IS NOT SEATED PROPERLY IN THE HEATING WELL, THE PERCOLATOR
WILL NOT PERCOLATE.
• Me sure percol tor-type ground coffee into b sket. Avoid getting coffee grounds in
the stem. Refer to the Coffee M king Ch rt th t follows. Spre d coffee evenly in
b sket. Pl ce spre der on b sket.
• Push lid down, then turn to lock. The gl ss portion of the lid will be hot during
oper tion. WARNING! Burn Hazard. Scalding may occur i the lid is removed
during the brewing cycle.
• Plug cord into the percol tor then plug the cord into electric l outlet. The unit
utom tic lly turns on.
• The Re dy Light will glow when coffee is re dy nd percol tor will utom tic lly
go into keep w rm mode. Allow bout 1 minute per cup for brewing time.
• The percol tor will rem in t serving temper ture until it is unplugged.
• When finished serving coffee, unplug the percol tor from the electric l outlet.
Allow to cool. Then remove cord from the percol tor.

NOTE: We recommend using coffee th t h s been ground specific lly for use in
percolator-type coffee m ker. Although, coffee m rked “For All Coffee M kers” is
ccept ble. If using coffee grinder nd whole be ns, percol tor coffee should be
co rse grind. A finely ground coffee m y c use the coffee b sket to overflow.

How to clean
• After e ch use, unplug cord from outlet then remove cord from the percol tor. Let
cool before cle ning.
• Remove lid, b sket, spre der, nd stem. W sh these in hot, so py w ter. (These
p rts c n lso be pl ced in dishw sher.) Do not put percol tor in dishw sher.
• Rinse ll p rts thoroughly nd dry. Store with cover off. NOTE: M ke sure the w sher t
bottom of stem rem ins loose. If coffee grounds lodge in this
re , remove them under running w ter or with wooden
pick, then rinse nd dry.
• Fill the percol tor h lf-full with hot w ter. Add drop of
liquid dishw shing detergent nd w sh the inside of the
percol tor. Use sponge nd cle n the inside of the
he ting unit well. This p rt must be properly cle ned to
m int in the proper oper tion of the percol tor. Do not
immerse percol tor in w ter.
• Dr in the so py w ter then fill the percol tor with hot w ter to rinse. Pour so py
w ter through spout to cle n the spout. Repe t with nother hot w ter rinse. Dry.
• Cle n outside of percol tor with d mp cloth. Do not use br sive scouring p ds or
cle nsers.
To remove mineral deposits and build-up
If the percol tor is used d ily, follow these instructions every other week.
• Fill the percol tor with 6 cups cold w ter nd 6 cups white vineg r. Assemble with
stem, b sket, spre der, nd lid.
• Plug in nd complete one perk cycle. When perking h s stopped, let sit nother
15 minutes. Unplug nd dr in percol tor. Let cool, then cle n ccording to “How
to cle n.”
CARE AND CLEANING
