FCC REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Your telephone equipment is registered with the Federal Communications Commission and is in compliance
with parts 15 and 68, FCC Rules and Regulations.
1Notification to the Local Telephone Company
On the bottom o this equipment is a label indicating, among other in ormation, the FCC Registration
number and Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) or the equipment. You must, upon request, provide this
in ormation to your telephone company.
The REN is use ul in determining the number o devices you may connect to your telephone line and still
have all o these devices ring when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all) areas, the sum o
the RENs o all devices connected to one line should not exceed 5. To be certain o the number o devices
you may connect to your line as determined by the REN, you should contact your local telephone company.

Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network, the telephone
company shall, where practicable, noti y you that temporary discontinuance o service may be required.
Where prior notice is not practicable and the circumstances warrant such action, the telephone company
may temporarily discontinue service immediately. In case o such temporary discontinuance, the telephone
company must: (1) promptly noti y you o such temporary discontinuance; (2) a ord you the opportunity
to correct the situation; and (3) in orm you o your right to bring a complaint to the Commission pursuant
to procedures set orth in Subpart E o Part 68, FCC Rules and Regulations.
The telephone company may make changes in its communications acilities, equipment, operations or

INTRODUCTION
Your Caller ID phone stores and displays speci ic in ormation, provided by
your local telephone company, to subscribers o Caller ID or similar caller
identi ication services. You must subscribe to one o these services in order
to use this unit.
Your Caller ID phone enables you to:
• Identi y callers be ore you answer the phone.
• View the time and date o each incoming call.
• Record up to 40 Caller ID messages sequentially.
• Know who called while you were away.
To get the most rom your new phone, we suggest that you take a ew
minutes right now to read through this user's guide.
REMINDER: This product requires a subscription to Caller ID service from
your telephone company. Check for name service availability.
IMPORTANT: Because cordless phones operate on electricity, you should
have at least one phone in your home that isn’t cordless, in case the power in
your home goes out.

MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS
You need an RJ11 type modular jack, which is the most common
type o phone jack and might look like the one pictured here. I
you don’t have a modular jack, call your local phone company to
ind out how to get one installed.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Some cordless telephones operate at frequencies
that may cause interference to nearby TVs and VCRs. To minimize or prevent
such interference, the base of the cordless telephone should not be placed
near or on top of a TV or VCR. If such interference continues, move the
cordless telephone farther away from the TV or VCR.
DIGITAL SECURITY SYSTEM
Your cordless phone uses a digital security system to provide protection against
alse ringing, unauthorized access, and charges to your phone line.
When you place the handset in the base, the unit veri ies its security code. A ter a
power outage or battery replacement, you should place the handset in the base
or about 20 seconds to reset the code.

DESKTOP INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the mounting
bracket is securely astened.
2. Set the RINGER switches (on
both the handset and the base)
to ON.
3. Plug the power supply cord
into the POWER 12V DC jack
on the base and into an AC outlet.
4. Place the handset in the base to charge or 12 hours. The CHARGE/IN
USE indicator (on the base) comes on to indicate that the battery is
charging. If you don’t charge the handset battery properly (for 12
hours) hen you first set up the phone, performance of the
battery ill be compromised.
5. Plug the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the base and into
a modular jack.
6. Raise the base antenna.
NOTE : The phone automatically defaults to touch-tone dialing. To change to
pulse (rotary) dialing, see “Tone/Pulse Dialing.” If you don’t know which type
of service you have, check with the phone company.
CAUTION: Use only the ATLINKS 5-2470 (black)/5-2485 (white)
power supply that is compatible with this unit. Using other power
supplies may damage the unit.
NOTE: For desktop charging only,
the handset is able to charge
facing up or down.

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION
1. Remove the mounting bracket.
Rotate it so that the bottom o
the phone is lat. Reattach the
mounting bracket by inserting
the tabs into the slots on the top
o the unit irst, and then snap-
ping the bottom tabs into place.
2. Remove the handset hook; turn
it upside down, and put it back
in the slot. You need to do this
so the handset doesn’t all out
o the base.
3. Set the RINGER switches (on
both the handset and the base)
to ON.
4. Plug the telephone line cord into
the jack marked TEL LINE on the
back o the unit and plug the
other end into a modular wall
jack. Then stu the excess line
cord into the wall mount bracket.

5. Connect the power supply cord
into jack on the back o the unit.
Then thread it through the
bottom o the base.
6. Slip the mounting holes over
the wall plate posts and slide
the unit down irmly into place.
(Wall plate not included.)
7. Plug the power supply into an
AC outlet.
8. Raise the base antenna.
9. Place the handset in the base.
The CHARGE/IN USE indicator
comes on, indicating the battery
is charging.
Allo the phone to charge
for 12 hours before using
the first time. If you don't
charge the phone properly
hen you first set up the
phone, performance of the
battery ill be
compromised.

REMINDER: The time and date are

the first Caller ID information is
successfully received after setup.

SETTING THE RINGER SOUND
The ringer sound can be set sepa-
rately on both the handset and base.
1. Make sure the phone is OFF.
2. Press and release the PROGRAM
button on the base (or PGM/MUTE
on the handset) until

RECEIVING ACALL
1. Check the display to see who
is calling.
2. Press the TALK button.
MAKING ACALL
To make a call, press the TALK
button be ore you dial and press it
again to hang up.
AUTO STANDBY
While the handset is on, place it in
the base and it will automatically
hang up.
USING THE SPEAKERPHONE
For best speakerphone
per ormance, avoid the ollowing:
• Areas with high background
noise. (The microphone might
pick up these sounds and prevent
the speakerphone rom going
into the receiving mode when
you inish talking.)

• Sur aces a ected by vibration.
• Recessed areas such as in a
corner, under a cupboard, or
next to a cabinet, which can
generate an echo e ect.
Note the ollowing guidelines when
you use the speakerphone:
• The speakerphone works similar
to a two-way radio in that you can
only listen or talk one at a time.
• Stay reasonably close to the
phone so that you can be clearly
heard by the person to whom
you are speaking.
• The speakerphone indicator is on
when the speakerphone is in use.

the handset, press HOLD and then
press SPEAKER on the base.
INTERCOM
The intercom eature o your
cordless phone allows you to have
a two-way conversation between
the handset and the base unit
without tying up the telephone line.
Since the telephone line is not
being used, you can still receive
incoming calls.
INTERCOMING FROM THE HANDSET
1. Make sure the phone is OFF.
2. Press the INT button. A paging
tone sounds at the base. (To
cancel intercom, press INT again.)
3. Wait or the person near the base to
press the PAGE/INTERCOM button.

the base) to deactivate the intercom.
NOTE: The base unit must be
within range of the handset in
order for intercom to function. If
the base is in use, BASE IN-USE is
displayed on the handset.

2. Press PAGE/INTERCOM. A paging
tone sounds at the handset. (To
cancel intercom, press PAGE/

3. Wait or the person with the
handset to press the INT button.

handset) to deactivate the intercom.
NOTE: The handset must be within
range of the base unit in order for
intercom to function. If the
handset is in use, you will hear a
soft beep from the handset.

INTERCOMING WHEN YOU HAVE

You may want to use the intercom
eature while you are on a call.
1. Press the HOLD button to put the
call on hold.
LINE ON HOLD
shows on the display.
2. Follow the steps 2-4 in either the
handset or base “Intercom”
section to complete the intercom.
3. When inished, press HOLD to
return to your call.
