cWhendisconnectingthisappliancepullbythe
plugrather than the cord to avoiddamageto the
cord orjunction of cord andplug. Makesurethat
the cord is locatedso that it will not be steppedon,
trippedover or otherwisesubjectedto damageor
stress.
cTominimizethe possibilityofelectricshock,
unplugthis appliancefrom the power supply
beforeattemptingany maintenanceor cleaning
(exceptthe removaland cleaningof the lintfilter).
NOTE:ApplianceMUSTbe unpluggedto ensure
thatpower is disconnected.Turningthe appliance
off at the controlpaneldoes NOT disconnectpower.
●Donot tamper withthe controls.
●Donotoperatethis applianceifit isdamaged,
malfunctioning,partiallydisassembled,or has
missingor brokenparts, includingadamaged
cordor plug.
●Any coin box or sitnilardeviceaddedto the dryer,
eitherelectricallyor mechanically,shouldbe
properlygrounded.

CareandCleating
USERMAINTENANCE
1‘INSTRUCTIONS
The Drum. Porcelainenameldrumisrust-resistant
andrequiresno specialcare.
The Exterior.Wipeoff any spills or washing
compounds. Wipe or dust with damp cloth.
Try not to strike the surface with sharp objects.
The Lint Filter.Wipe lint filter before every use.
Periodically lint filter should be removed and suction
hose from vacuum cleaner should be inserted into
the opening.
Dryw Exhaust: Inspect and clean the dryer exhaust
ducting at least once ayear.
Do not obstruct the flow of intake air.The air intake
is located on rear of dryer.
Tostore dryer: For short period of time, disconnect
power supply and clean lint filter.
Do not store dryer where it will be exposed to
the weather.
CAUTIONS
●Dryer control panel and finishes may be damaged
by some laundry pre-treatment soil and stain
remover products if such products are sprayed on
or have direct contact with the dryer.
Apply these pre-treatment products away from the
dryer. The fabric may then be washed and dried
normally.Damage to your dryer caused by pre-
treatment products is not covered by your warranty.

●Neverreachintothe dryer whilethe drum is
moving.Beforeloading,unloadingor adding
clothes,waituntilthe drum has completely
stopped.
●Donot dry fiberglassarticlesinyourdryer.
Skin irritationcould result fromthe remaining
glassparticlesthat may be pickedup by clothing
during subsequentdryer uses.
●Closesupervisionisnecessaryifthisappliance
isusedbyor near children.Donotallow
childrentoplayinside,on,or withthis
applianceor anydiscardedappliance.Dispose
ofdiscardedappliancesand shippingor
packingmaterialsproperly.Beforediscardinga
dryer,or removingfromservice,removethe
doorofthe dryer compartment.
*Keepalllaundryaids(suchasdetergents,
bleaches,fabricsofteners,etc.)out ofthe reach
ofchildren,preferablyin alockedcabinet.
Observeall warningson containerlabelsto avoid
personalinjury.
●Keepthe flooraround your appliancecleanand
dry to reducethe possibilityofslipping.
●Neverclimbonor standonthedryer top.

ignition,notapilotlight.DONOTATTEMPT
TOLIGHTWITHAMATCH.Burnsmay
resultfromhavingyour hand near the burner
whenthe automaticignitionmayturn on.

recommendyou use eitherafiabricsoftenerin the
wash cycle,accordingto the manuflacturer’s
instructionsfor those products,or try adryer-added
productfor which the manufacturergives written
assuranceon the packagethat theirproductcan be
safelyused in yourdryer.

oftheseproductsaretheresponsibilityofthe

●Regularlyinspectthe exhaustduct to be sure it has
not been crushedor otherwiserestricted.
●Donotuseheattodryarticlescontainingrubber,
plastic,or similarmaterials(such as paddedbras,
tennis shoes,galoshes,bath mats, rugs, bibs, baby
pants,plasticbags, etc.) as these materialsmay
meltor burn. Also, some rubbermaterials,when
heated,can undercertaincircumstancesproduce
fire by spontaneouscombustion.
●Do not store itemsthat may burn or melt (such
as clothing,paper material,plasticsor plastic
containers,etc.) on top of the dryer during
the operation.
●Garmentslabeled“DryAwayfromHeat”(such
aslifejackets containingKapok)mustnot be
put inyourdryer.
●Donotwashor dry articlesthat havebeen
cleanedin,washedin,soakedin,or spotted
withcombustibleor explosivesubstances(such
as wax,paint,gasoline,degreasers,dry-cleaning
solvents,kerosene,etc.)whichmayigniteor
explode.Donot add thesesubstancesto the
washwater.Donot usethesesubstancesaround
yourwasherantior dryer duringoperation.
●DONOTplaceitemsexposedto cookingoils in
yourdryer.Itemscontaminatedwithcookingoils
maycontributeto achemicalreactionthatcould
causeaclothesloadto catchfire.
●Any articleon which you haveused acleaning
solvent,or which containsflammablematerials
(such as cleaningcloths,mops,towels used in
beauty salons,restaurantsor barber shops,etc.)
must notbe placed in or near the dryer untilall
tracesof these flammableliquidsor solidsand
their fumeshave been removed.Thereare many
highlytlamrnableitemsused in homes such as:
acetone,denaturedalcohol,gasoline,kerosene,
some householdcleaners,some spotremovers,
tu~entines, waxes,wax removersand products
containingpetroleumdistillates.
●Keepthearea aroundand underneathyour
appliancesfreefromthe accumulationof
combustiblematerials,suchas lint,paper,rags,
chemicals,etc.
●Theinteriorofthe machineand the exhaust
ductconnectioninsidethedrver shouldbe
cleanedperiodicallybyaqualifiedindividual.
●Thelaundryprocesscanreducethe flame
retardancyoffabrics.Toavoid such aresult,
garmentmanufacturer’scare instructionsshouldbe
followedvery carefully.

FOR
GENERALELECTRIC
DRYER
TWO-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
If your new General Electric Commercial Dryer fails because of amanufi~cturin&
defect within the second year from the date of purchase, General Electric will furnish,
without charge, the required replacement parts. Any related service labor and diagnosis
calls are not included. Parts which are excluded from this warranty are the drop coin
meter, coin slide mechanism, coin vault and locks. ANY AND ALL IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR APARTICULAR
PURPOSE ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED.
This warranty is yours, as the original purchaser, for dryers purchased and retained
within the U.S.A. Of course, it does not cover damage by accident, misuse, or
improper installation. Parts and service are available from your General Electric
Commercial Laundry Distributor.
