Proper installation is the responsibility
of the installer. Product failure due to
improper installation is not covered under
the Warranty.
Installation of the range must conform
with local codes or, in the absence of local
codes, with the National Fuel Gas, ANSI
Z223.1/NFPA 54, latest edition. In Canada,
installation must conform with the current
Natural Gas Installation Code, CAN/CSA-
B149.1 or the current Propane Installation
Code, CAN/CSA-B149.2, and with local
codes where applicable. This range has
been design-certied by Underwriter’s
Laboratories for use in the United States
and Canada.
If the information in the manual is not followed exactly, a re or explosion may result causing
property damage, personal injury, or death.
If you smell gas:
– Open windows
– Don’t touch electrical switches.
– Extinguish any open ame.
– Immediately call your gas supplier.
Do not store or use combustible materials, gasoline or other ammable vapors and liquids
in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
Installation and service must be performed by a qualied installer, service agency or the gas
supplier.
Remove all packing material and literature from oven before connecting gas and electrical
supply to the range.
This product must be installed by a licensed plumber or gas tter.
When using ball-type gas shut-off valves, they shall be the T-handle type.
A exible gas connector, when used, must not exceed 3 feet (91.4 cm).

in accordance with the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70, latest edition). In Canada, electrical

Place burner heads over the electrodes on the
cooktop, in the correct locations according to their
sizes.
Place the matching size caps onto the heads.
Make sure that the heads and caps are placed in the correct locations.
Place the vent cover, grates and air inlet cover onto the cooktop, making sure that the grates
lock the vent cover in place.

Turn on gas.
Push and turn a burner valve to the LITE position.
The burner valve should light when gas is available to the burner.
Once the burner lights, it should be turned out of the LITE position.
Try each valve separately until all burners have been checked.
Light a match and hold the ame near the burner you want to light. Wooden matches
work best.
Push in and turn the control knob slowly. Be sure you are turning the correct knob
for the burner you are lighting.
If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob off and wait 5 minutes
before trying again.
Turn each burner on. Turn each burner knob to the high position. Flames should be blue in color with
little or no trace of yellow. The burner ames should not utter or blow away from the burner. The
inner cone of the ame should be between 1/2” and 3/4” (12.7 mm and 19.1 mm) long. If the burner
ames are yellow in color or not the proper length, call GE Service.

Flames should circle burner

Open the door and remove it. (Optional—see Step 4.)
Remove the oven racks.
Remove the oven bottom.
Lift the oven bottom up at the rear and pull forward.
Remove the four screws holding the burner bafe (ame spreader) to the burner box.
Install and close the oven door.
Turn on the bake burner.
The broil burner ames may be seen without removing the racks, oven bottom or bake bafes.
If the ames are yellow, open the air shutter more than
the original setting.
If the ames blow away or utter from the burner,
close the air shutter more than the original setting.
Bake burner: Remove the orice tting cover. The broil
burner is located and accessible in the top rear of the
oven.
Using a screwdriver, loosen the air shutter adjustment
screw.
Make the air shutter adjustment.
Retighten the air shutter screw.
Check the inner cone of the ame. It should be between 1/2” and 3/4”
(12.7 mm and 19.1 mm) long for the oven bake and broil burners.
Replace the orice tting cover.
Replace the burner bafe (ame spreader) and screws.
Replace the oven bottom.
Replace the oven door.
