Your telephone equipment is re istered with the Federal Communications Commission and is in compliance with
parts 15 and 68, FCC Rules and Re ulations.
1Notification to the Local Telephone Company
On the bottom of this equipment is a label indicatin , amon other information, the FCC Re istration number
and Rin er Equivalence Number (REN) for the equipment. You must, upon request, provide this information to
your telephone company.
The REN is useful in determinin the number of devices you may connect to your telephone line and still have
all of these devices rin when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all) areas, the sum of the
RENs of all devices connected to one line should not exceed 5. To be certain of the number of devices you may
connect to your line as determined by the REN, you should contact your local telephone company.
Notes
• This equipment may not be used on coin service provided by the telephone company.
• Party lines are subject to state tariffs, and therefore, you may not be able to use your own telephone
equipment if you are on a party line. Check with your local telephone company.
• Notice must be iven to the telephone company upon permanent disconnection of your telephone from
your line.
2Rights of the Telephone Company
Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network, the telephone
company shall, where practicable, notify you that temporary discontinuance of service may be required.
Where prior notice is not practicable and the circumstances warrant such action, the telephone company may
temporarily discontinue service immediately. In case of such temporary discontinuance, the telephone
company must: (1) promptly notify you of such temporary discontinuance; (2) afford you the opportunity to
correct the situation; and (3) inform you of your ri ht to brin a complaint to the Commission pursuant to
procedures set forth in Subpart E of Part 68, FCC Rules and Re ulations.
The telephone company may make chan es in its communications facilities, equipment, operations of
procedures where such action is required in the operation of its business and not inconsistent with FCC Rules
and Re ulations. If these chan es are expected to affect the use or performance of your telephone equipment,
the telephone company must ive you adequate notice, in writin , to allow you to maintain uninterrupted
service.
INTERFERENCE INFORMATION

INTRODUCTION
Your Caller ID phone stores and displays specific information, provided by
your local telephone company, to subscribers of Caller ID or similar caller
identification services. You must subscribe to one of these services in order
to use this unit.
Your Caller ID phone enables you to:
• Identify callers before you answer the phone.
• View the time and date of each incomin call.
• Record up to 75 Caller ID messa es sequentially.
• Know who called while you were away.
IMPORTANT: In order to use this unit, you must subscribe to either the
standard Name/Number Caller ID Service .
CAUTION: When using telephone equipment, there are basic
safety instructions that should always be followed. Refer to the
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS provided with this product
and save them for future reference.

PARTS CHECKLIST
Make sure your packa e includes the followin items:
MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS
You need an RJ11 type modular jack, which is the most
common type of phone jack and mi ht look like the one
pictured here. If you don’t have a modular jack, call your
local phone company to find out how to et one installed.

INSTALLATION AND SETUP
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION
• Never install telephone wirin durin a
li htnin storm.
• Never touch uninsulated telephone wires
or terminals, unless the telephone line
has been disconnected at the network
interface.
• Use caution when installin or
modifyin telephone lines.
INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
Your Caller ID phone uses 4 AA-size
alkaline batteries for receivin and storin
Caller ID records and for the numbers you
use for memory dialin .
IMPORTANT: You will have approximately
60 seconds to replace the batteries before
the memories stored are lost. Please read
the instructions before replacing the
batteries and have the batteries ready to be
inserted beforehand.
IMPORTANT: If you are not going to use
the telephone for more than 30 days,
remove the batteries because they may leak
and damage the unit.

CAUTION: Disconnect the phone cord
from the wall outlet before installing or
replacing the batteries.
1. Remove the mountin bracket from the
back of the base.
2. Use a phillips screwdriver to remove the
screw and a flat-head screwdriver to pry
up the battery compartment door on the
bottom of the phone.
3. Insert 4 AA-size alkaline batteries as
shown on the dia ram in the battery
compartment.
4. Snap the battery compartment door back
into place and replace the screw and the
mountin bracket.
5. If the line cord was previously
connected, re-attach it to the unit and
check your memory locations.
NOTE: If the low battery icon appears in
the display, you need to replace the
batteries. It is important that you replace the
batteries as soon as possible in order to
maintain Caller ID operation.

INSTALLATION
DESKTOP INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the mountin bracket is securely fastened.
2. Set the TONE/PULSE switch on the bottom of the unit to TONE for touch-
tone service, or PULSE for rotary service. If you don’t know which type
of service you have, check with the phone company.
3. Plu one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other
end into the jack on the side of the base. Place the handset in the base.
4. Plu one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the base and the
other end into a modular jack.
5. Set the RINGER switch on the left side of the base to the desired
loudness.
•HI = Default settin , loudest sound.
•= Sound will be lower
•= Sound will be the lowest.
• OFF = Telephone will not rin .

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION
1. Set TONE/PULSE switch on the bottom of
the unit to TONE for touch-tone service,
or PULSE for rotary service.
2. Remove the mountin bracket. Rotate it
so that the bottom of the phone is flat.
Reattach the wall mount bracket by
insertin the tabs into the slots on the
top of the unit first, and then snappin
the bottom tabs into place.
3. Plu the telephone line cord into the jack
on the back of the unit and plu the
other end into a modular wall jack.
4. Plu one end of the coiled handset cord
into the handset and the other end into
the jack on the side of the base. Place the
handset in the base.

5. Slip the mountin holes over the wall
plate posts and slide the unit down
firmly into place.
6. Set the RINGER switch on the left side of
the base to the desired loudness.

CODE
The telephone uses the pro rammed area
code to determine the number format to
display when a valid Caller ID si nal is
received.
1. Press the OPTION button.

CALLER ID FEATURES
SUMMARY SCREEN
The Summary Screen shows the current
time, date, and number of new calls to
review. It is displayed until the REVIEW or
OPTION buttons are pressed or a Caller ID
record is received. Within 20 seconds of
receivin a new call, the Summary Screen
is displayed and the New Call LED flashes.
NOTE: The number of new calls is
displayed until all new calls have been
reviewed.

RECEIVING AND STORING
CALLS
This unit receives and displays information
transmitted by your local phone company.
This information can include the phone
number, date, and time; or the name,
phone number, date, and time. The unit can
store up to 75 calls for later review. When
the memory is full, a new call automatically
replaces the oldest call in memory.
