Controls 1. Light control
Turn tile light control fi'om OFF to H1 for
the brightest light while cooking.
2. Fan control
Turn tile fsn control speed fi'oIn OFF to HI
as needed.
3.
Con[inuous use of the ]_lIl sysleIll while
cooking helps keep tile kimhen comfiortable
and less humid. It also reduces cooking
odors and soiling moisture that create a
fi'equent need for cleaning.
NOTE: When lhe fan is operating on the
lowest setting, it will be very quiet. Always
make sure that the tim is turned OFF when
you are finished in the kitchen.

Light bulbs The bulbs are located on the underside of
the hood.
To change the light bulbs:
1. ReInove the trim ring by turning it
counterclockwise.
2. Grasp Ihe bulb on the edges and remove
by tumiIlg it coumerclockwise.
3. Replace wi/tl the same type and size bulb.
These 120 volt, 50 watt, par 16 halogen flood
bulbs, with standard b_se, are available at
specially lighting stores.
These bulbs can "also be ordered from your
GE supplier.

Baffle grease
filters and
drip trays
Island hood models have reusable metal grease
baffles and drip trays.
Tile melal baffles channel grease released by
foods on the cookmp inlo lhe drip trays. The
baffles also help prevent flaIning foods on tile
cooktop fi_om damaging tile inside of ltle hood.
For this reason, the baffles must ALWAYS be in
place when the hood is used. The grease baffles
and drip trays should be cleaned once a Inonth,
or _s needed.
To dean the grease baffles and drip trays,
drain and wipe all excess grease with a dry
paper towel. Soak lhem and lhen swish them
around in hot waler and detergent. Don't use
mnmonia or amInonia products because they
will darken the metal. Do not use abrasNes or
oven cleaners. Rinse, shake and let them dry
betbre replacing. They may "also be cleaned
in an automatic dishwasher.
To remove:
Grasp both baffle knobs Oil each filter and
pull lheIn up, forward and out. Grasp the
drip lray and carefully lift it up and out of
the hood track.
To replace the drip trays:
1. Place mid seat the drip tray into the
hood track.
2. Slide IheIn left or right until all lrays are
side-by-side in place in the track.
To replace the baffles:
1. Hold the baffle at the bottom by one of
the knobs.
2. Place the other end of the baffle a_ainst
the inside ti_ont of the hood.
3. Slide it up and push the bottom end back
until it firmly seats imo place.

Do not use a steel-wool pad; it will scratch
the surface.
1. Shake bottle well.
2. Place a small amount of CERAMA BRYTE *_
Stainless Steel Cleaning Polish and
Conditioner oil a dry cloth or dry paper
towel.
3. Clean a small area (approximalely 8" x 8"),
rubMng wi/tl the grain of tile stainless steel
if applicable.
4. Dry and boffwith a clean, dry paper rowel
or soil cloth.
5. Repeat as necessary.

conneoed properly by the installer/electrician/builder to its mating
conneclor located inside tile hood on tile mp surfhce, to the left of
tile blower assembly.
1. Swi/ch power off at service panel and lock Ibe service
disconnecting meaus to preveut power from being switched on
accidentally. When Ibe service discounectiug means canuot be
locked, securely fhsten a prominent warniug device, such as
a lag, to tile service panel.
2. ReInove lhe fillers and locate the blower _vire harness conueoor.
Is it plugged iuto its mating connector?
3. If uo, plug the blower molor connector imo ils mating couuector
oil tile lop of Ibe hood. Swi/ch tile power back oil. Check m see
if tile fbn uow works.
4. If no, check lbe circuit breaker/fi_se. If it is blown/tripped,
replace/reset it. Does lhe blower work uow? If uo, call GE
for service.
• Many factors could be the root cause for reduced air-flow.
1. Installation could be the problem: Your hood was designed m
meet specific ducting requireInents. Refer m the lnstallafiou
Instructions or if you do uot have lbem, go to www.monogram.com.
If your duct length exceeds lbe manufaclurer's requireInents,
hood perfbrmance will suffer. Air-flow will also be reduced if tile
house duct work is too small or lbere are loo many elbows iu tile
sys/eIn. Contact your installer or builder.
2. Obstruction iu duct work could be lhe problem: Make sure
nothing is blocking lbe vent (bird nests or kinks in the duct work).
3. Damper blade may uot be opening. Make sure the tape is removed
fl'oIn lbe damper blades and lbat it swings opeu freely.
4. Damper blade on Wall or Roof Cap may uot be opening. Coutact
your builder so they call make sure the damper swiugs opeu freely.
5. Dirty f'flters/baffles--Inake sure filters (and all hood surfaces) are
kept clean of grease and dirt.
