WATER HEATERSAFETY
Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a water heater that has not been used
for two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas can be explosive under these circumstances.
If the hot water hasnot been usedfor two weeks or more, prevent the possibility of damage or injury by turning
on all hot water faucets and allowing them to run for several minutes. Dothis before using any electrical appliance
which isconnected to the hot water system.Thissimple procedure will allow any built-up hydrogen gasto escape.

Temperature

Options
Autosoak Option (on some models)
Thisoption begins with a brief agitation, soaksfor a specified period oftime, then moves through the rest of the cycle
automatically. On some models,this option islocated on the CycleSelectorknob.
2nd Rinse Option (onsome models)
When you useextra detergent or bleach to clean heavily soiledclothes,usethe 2nd Rinseoption to better remove additional
residues.
Extended Spin Option (onsome models)
Usethis option to extract more water from your clothes. Clotheswill bedrier when this option isselected and will dry more
quickly in your dryer.
Fabric Softener and Power Rinse
Setthis option when adding fabric softener to the washer or to selectthe enhanced PowerRinse.
NOTE:Donot usefabric softener dispensing ballswith this washer.They do not work correctly in high-efficiency washers.
Status Indicator Lights
TheCycleIndicator Lights show what stage the washer is in.When the Selectorknob isset to a new cycle,the Indicator
Lightswill flush momentarily, showing what stagesthe cyclewill go through. On models without an AUTOSOAKoption, the

lFILL SOAK WASH RINSE SPIN
Wash Cycle-Cycle Selector Knob
Thewash cycle controls the length and intensity ofthe washing process.Theknob can be turned in either direction. Turning
the CycleSelector knob after starting a cycle will stop the washer and reset the cycle to the new selection. PressSTARTto
begin the new cycleselection.
WHITES Forheavy to lightly soiled cottons, household linens,work and play clothes.Thiscycleprovidesthe best overall
cleaningand shouldbe usedfor most everydayitems.Providesa regular wash and a high speedspin.
PREWASHForremoving surface dirt from heavily soiledclothes. Hake sureto follow with a regular wash cycle.
COLORSFornon-colorfast cottons and blends or itemsthat are labeled cold wash. Providesa regular wash with periods of
soak and a high speedspin.
PERMANENTPRESS Forwrinkle-free and permanent press items and knits. Provides a regular wash with periods of

The Fabric Softener Dispenser
The agitator cap fits into the top of the agitator.
Ifit accidentally comes off, simply put it back
on.

maximum fill line.

releases liquid fabric softener at the proper time
during the cycle.
Do not stop the washer or raise the lid during
the first spin. This will cause the dispenser to
empty too soon.

Liquid Bleach Funnel
The water filldilutes liquid chlorine bleach as the washer fillsfor the wash cycle.

[] Never pour undiluted liquid chlorine bleach directly onto clothes or into the wash basket.
[] Do not pour powdered bleach into bleach funnel.
]]Before starting the washer, pour measured amount of bleach directly into bleach funnel. Avoid
splashing or over-filling dispenser. Ifyou prefer to use powdered bleach, add it into the wash
basket with your detergent.

Wash_Loads
Sort bycolor (whites, lights,colors),soil [eve[,fabric type
(sturdy cottons, easy care, delicates) and whether the
fabric produces lint (terry cloth, chenille) or collects lint
(velveteen, corduroy).
Proper Use of Detergent
Add detergent before adding items sothat the
detergent can work effectively. Usingtoo little or
too much detergent isa common cause of laundry
problems.
Forspots, apply pre-treutment to items as
recommended on the product label.Application should
be made in the basketto prevent overspray which may
cause the coloring on the lid or graphics to fade.
You can useless detergent ifyou have soft water, a
smaller load or a lightly soiled load.
When using high efficiency or concentrated
detergents, consult the product label to determine
amount required for optimum performance. Excessive
detergent will negatively impact wash performance.
LoadingtheWasher
Load dry items loosely inthe washer basket. Forbest
results,load items evenly and loosely around the
outside ofthe basket.Toadd items after washer has
started, lift the lid and submerge additional items
around the outside of the basket.

them around the outside of the basket.
[] Do not wash fabrics containing flammable materials
(waxes, cleaning fluids, etc.).

Washer is noisy Washer is uneven , Tolevelthe front of the washer, adjust the front levelinglegsby
rotating the individual leg in the proper direction for up
or down. Tolevelthe back of the washer, lift the back
of the machine 4" (!! cm) and set down.
Shipping rod is still assembled * Toremove the shipping rod from the washer, pullthe yellowtag
in the unit and remove the attached rod from the bottom right hand sideof
the washer.
