~Sort clothes by weight so you won’t have to run an extra cycle for one
or two heavier, slower-drying items.
*Do not overload your dryer. For efficient drying, clothesneed
to tumble freely.
*To help prevent ironing, use Knits/Low Heat. Remove garments
promptly at end of arying cycle and place on hangers.
~Dry your clothes in consecutive loads. Using a“warm” dryer
will save energy.
*Clean the dryer lint fiker each time you dry.
QClean the dryer exhaust ducting at least once ayear. Apartially clogged
exhaust can lengthen drying time.

PROBLEM IP’OSSDNIJECAUSE
SHRINKAGE, KNITS @shrinkage can occur in knit fabricsthathave been improperly
stretchedand elongatedby the rnarmfacturer.When thisoccurs,garmentmay
be pressed back into shapeafter each wash and dry cycle.
~I?vgressive or delayed is caused when starchor sizing(in some
fabrics) is graduallyremoved by laundering,Maybe noticedin older garments
that have been launderedmany times withoutpreviousshrinkage,Treat as for
Relaxation Shrinkageabove.
~Shrinkage caused by mnfneathgoccurs in certain knit fabricsthathave
been heat-shaped.When washing, drying or ironing temperaturesexceed the
temperatures usedto shapeset, shrinkagemay occur. This cannotbe corrected,
but it can be prevented by washing in cold or warm water; dryingon low heat.
WRINKLING IN Io
Leaving clothes in dryer after tumbling stops.Remove clothes promptlyand
PERMANENT PRESS hang them immediately.
AND “NO-IRON” ITEMS eToomany items in dryer.Dry only one washer load at atime. Do not
combine loads.
~Too few items in dryer. If drying mdy one article, add two or more similar
articles, even if dry,to insure proper tumbling.
@Improper loads. Avoid launderingheavy Permanent Press items, such as work
clothes, with lighter Permanent Press items, such as shirtsor blouses.Do not
wash or dry Permanent Press with regular laundry.
eToo many clothes in washer.Items must have room to move freely.
Permanent Press loads should always be smaller than regular loads...
no more than medium loads.
@Use of incorrect wash and dry cycles. Use Permanent Press wash cycle
which provides acool-down rinse to minimize wrinkling. Also, use Permanent
Press drying cycle.
oIncorrect water level. Use large water level for medium load; medium level
or half full for small load.
~Washing repeatedly in too hot water. Wash in cool or warm water with
plenty of detergent.
‘Accumulation of lime scale due to luseof carbonate detergents. If you must
use anon-phosphate detergent, avoid the use of ahigh-carbonate detergent.
~Failure to use fabric softener. Proper use of fabric softener will
minimize wrinkling.
