MIO ENC-HD-AUD
I.Description
Based on Mini BOX platform, MIO ENC-HD-AUD is a small converter which can
convert 3G/HD/SD-SDI to analog composite video signal, analog component video
signal, S-video signal, or HD YUV signal and supports the input format of 480i 59.94,
576i 50, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. It can extract one analog audio stereo signal from a
single serial digital signal. The de-embedded audio channel can be selected through
DIP Switch. However, MIO ENC-HD-AUD cannot change the frame frequency, that is,
the frame frequency of output signal is the same as the one of input signal.
It supplies the loop function, which ensures the extension of more devices. Users can
choose analog video output mode by DIP switches. The LED lights on the Mini box
indicate the status of input signal and power, so as to let the user know the information
immediately.
Be known for compact function, the converter is widely used in variety of environments,
like TV program post production, studio, broadcast, etc.
II. Features of products
one analog audio stereo signal extracted from a single serial digital signal
Input signal for SD-SDI, 1.5Gb/s HD-SDI and 3.0Gb/s HD-SDI
Select the mode of output signal (CVBS/SD YUV/YC/HD YUV) freely via DIP
Switch
Support self-defined de-embedded audio channel via DIP Switch
All audio interfaces adopt 3-PIN connector, balanced output

Supply real-time input signal status indicator and power indicator

III. Interfaces on the panel
3.1Overview
Load Default: Using a push pin to press the button to restore the default settings. The
default parameters: CVBS + YC output, G1 CH1&CH2.
SET: Using a push pin to press the button to make the settings of DIP Switch taking
effect.
3.2Left panel
DC IN：Power supply with 12V 1A.
PWR：Power indicator, the indicator shows green as the power is working normally.

IN：Signal indicator, the indicator shows green as the video is locked with no errors.
SDI-IN：BNC interface, digital video signal input (support SDI with embedded audio).
MIO ENC-HD-AUD cannot change the frame frequency, that is, the frame
frequency of output signal is the same as the one of input signal.
Convert HD/SD signal to CVBS/SD YUV/YC, the allowed input format is shown
as below：
SD：625i 50, 525i 59.94
HD：720p 50/59.94
1080i 50/59.94
1080p 50/59.94
Note ： The 16:9 of HD signal is auto-stretched to 4:3 with full coded frame when HD
signal is down-converted to analog video signal.
Convert HD/SD signal to HD YUV, the allowed input format is shown as below：
SD：525i 59.94
HD：720p 59.94/60
1080i 59.94/60
1080p 59.94/60
Note ： The 4:3 of SD signal is auto-stretched to 16:9 of HD YUV signal with full coded
frame when SD signal is up-converted to HD YUV signal.
SDI-LOOP：BNC interface, it supports loop function with power on.
RS232: Serial port. The function is reserved.

3.3 Right panel
Analog Video OUT：BNC interface, outputs analog video signal and supports three
kinds of output: CVBS/YUV/YC. MIO ENC-HD-AUD cannot change the frame
frequency, that is, the frame frequency of output signal is the same as the one of input
signal.
i. When analog composite signal is selected, the first interface is CVBS
output (from left), others are invalid;
ii. When analog or HD component signal is selected, the output interfaces
from left are Y signal, B-Y signal, and R-Y signal;
iii. When S-video signal is selected, the output interfaces from left are: none, Y,
and C signal.
Note ： The analog composite signal and YC signal is output at the same time, that is,
the BNC interfaces from the left are CVBS, Y signal, and C signal.
ANA AUDIO OUT：3-pin interface, one stereo analog audio signal output. Please make
sure audio is connected correctly in terms of positive and negative.

MODE SET: DIP dial switch; Users can set the DIP to get more functions according to
their actual demand. Please refer to the specific meanings switch table：

Remarks: Power switch ON= DOWN OFF =UP
DIP indicates by 10 figures:
1) The NO. 1 indicates manual or automatic configuration. Place it at ON, the device
is under manual status, it can achieve the functions by setting the DIP switch;
Place it at OFF, the equipment is under auto status, the function is planned to be

set by the computer.
2) NO. 0 (10) determines whether the device under adjustment status. Put it at ON, it
indicates the device under adjustment status, users can adjust the other switches
to achieve the functions in the list; Put it at OFF, the device is under working status,
the DIP switch is invalid.
3) NO.6~9, through the different settings to achieve specific functions, for example:
set NO.6-9 as: on off off off;it means analog composite video signal and YC
signal will output at the same time through the three BNC interfaces, then press
“SET” button (On the right corner of cover) to make adjustment into effect.
Note:
1. When user sets the DIP switch, only if the NO. 1 and NO.0 (10) are at ON status, can
the DIP switch takes effect. Others (No.2-5) are reserved without any use in this
product.
2. After adjust parameters manually, please make sure all switches are at OFF to under
working status.
