This guide provides a brief overview for using your new
device. We recommend viewing the enclosed DVD or
reading the user manual prior to operation.
If you have any problems getting started with
the device, please call our FREE customer
support hot-line at (877) 763-8327. Device Description
To change the volume: press the
volume select button with the tip of
your nger. The number of “beeps”
you hear will indicate the current
volume level. For example, Level 1,
one beep. Level 2, two beeps, and
the same for levels 3 and 4.
Level 1 is the lowest level of volume
and Level 4 is the highest level.
Low battery indicator: a beep-
ing sound that continues several
minutes after pressing the volume
select button is the automatic Low
Battery warning feature. This is
alerting you to change the battery.
Ensure that you have the correct device: red is for right and blue for left.
Place the Simplicity on top of the ear with the ear hook hanging over the
front of the ear (Fig. 1). The Sound port dome should be oriented so that the
tubing is facing toward the opening of the ear canal. Gently push in the tip
of the tubing into your ear canal (Fig. 2).
After inserting the tip of the Sound port dome tubing into the ear canal,
slip the retention cord into the bottom bowl of ear. Push the poly-tube
into the ear canal until it is ush with the outer ear. (Fig 3).
Before installing a battery, peel o the paper activa-
tion tab. Do not remove the activation tab until you are
ready to install the battery.
Occasionally, an activation tab is not properly sealed
at the factory. This can cause zinc-air batteries to lose
their power before use. If your new device does
not work after installing the sample battery
included in your package, purchase a fresh
pack of batteries. To install a battery, insert the rounded side of the battery into the
door. If properly seated, the at side should be ush with the top of
the battery door. The battery door should easily snap shut. Do not
force the battery door to close. Use the magnetic end of the utility
brush to easily install or remove a battery.
Turning the device on and o, after installation of a fresh battery,
close the battery door and the device will be “ON” and will start in
Level 1 volume. To turn the device “OFF”, swing the battery door
open so the battery is not making contact.

The most common problems with hearing devices...
Common Device FAQ’s
What’s that “beeping noise”?
Your Simplicity device is equipped with
a Low Battery Warning system. The
device will emit a beep (unrelated to a
memory change beep) when the bat-
tery is low on power. If the battery is
not changed soon after the warning
beep, the device will shut o.
How long will a battery last?
Depending on the amount of daily
use, a battery should last approxi-
mately 80 hours. Be sure to open the
battery door each night after use.
Why did my device stop working?
Almost all hearing aid problems are
related to a weak battery or ear wax
blockage. Correctly install a new bat-
tery and check the device for wax
blockage in tube. Call customer ser-
vice if you have any questions.
We provide free, personal customer support for our hearing

hone. Talk with our friendly sta at: (877) 763-8327.
It is extremely rare for a new device to malfunction.
The two most common issues with any type of hearing device are ear
wax blockage inside the device or use of weak batteries. Please read

Have ear checked and cleaned
before using device.
Ear wax is the #1 problem for any
hearing device. Some individuals pro-
duce more ear wax than others and
it can block the sound port of your
hearing device after just one use. This
can cause the device to sound weak
or dead. If you experience problems
with earwax, consider having your ears
cleaned by a health professional.
Weak or dead batteries
Remove the paper tab before installing
into the device. Miniature zinc-air batter-
ies should last about a week, depend-
ing on the amount of daily use.
Save battery life! Fully open the bat-
tery door before bedtime each night.

Removing earwax blockage in
your device.
At the end of each day, clean the exte-
rior with a tissue and inspect the open-
ing of the Sound port dome and poly-
tubing for any blockage, moisture, or
wax buildup. The tubing should be
clear. If you see any wax blockage,
remove the tubing and clean with the
multi-cleaning tool included in device
package.
To use the cleaning tool: insert the
lament line into the opening of the
poly-tube.Push the lament through
the tube completely to ensure all debris
has been pushed out of the tube. This
complete procedure is demonstrated
on the DVD.
