General Placement Guidelines
Number of Devices Required
Each KOLO™ Collector Device can support
dispenser data collection for up to 15 devices
at a distance of up to 50’.
Note: Quad tissue dispensers
count as 2 devices.
Note: KOLO™ Collector Devices may collect
data up to 100’ in open-air usage
areas without interference from
significant building infrastructure.

Location
The KOLO™ Collector Device should be
installed in a location that is both secure
from tampering or vandalism and also
minimizes the visual impact of the unit
on the usage area.

Location
When the length of the room is up to 50’
– if 1 Collector is required, it can be
placed at any length of the room
where location is advantageous.
– if 2 Collectors are required, place
them equidistant across the span of
the room or at each end of the room.

General Placement Guidelines
Precautions
When deciding on the
placement location for the
KOLO™ Collector Device, the
following precautions should
be considered:
– Do not place below
stored liquids or in close
proximity to extreme heat,
steam or water sources.
– If using the AC Adapter,
do not place where the
cord is likely to be walked
on or over posing a trip
hazard.
– Battery powered
Collectors should not
be ceiling mounted.
AC-powered Collectors
could be ceiling mounted
with the appropriate
hardware.

Installation
KOLO™ Collector Devices must
be mounted using 2 anchored
screws (not included).
Note: Install batteries before replacing cover.
Note: For additional security against battery
theft, a 4mm button cap screw (not
included) can be added to the side of
the unit.

applications.

Battery Replacement
Battery Handling and Disposal
1. Keep in original packaging until ready for use.
2. Remove battery from device when not in use for an
extended period of time.
3. Never disassemble battery. Chemicals inside battery
can be dangerous if swallowed or exposed to skin.
4. Avoid mechanical or electrical abuse.
5. Keep away from children.
6. Battery is not designed to be recharged.
7. Avoid extreme temperatures.
8. Do not incinerate, since battery may explode at
excessive temperatures.
9. Do not dispose of large amounts of batteries as it
creates a safety risk.
10. Dispose of accumulated batteries in accordance with
appropriate federal, state, and local regulations.
11. Do not mix old and new batteries or nonrechargeable
and rechargeable batteries.

Commissioning
A collector must be installed
and commissioned prior to
commissioning any device(s)
that will use the Collector to
communicate it’s data to the
KOLO™ Cloud Server.
Details for Collector
commissioning are provided
in the support documentation
built into the KOLO™ Connect
Application.
