Setting up network environment
The default IP address of the device is automatically assigned by a DHCP server when the device is connected to a
network. If a DHCP server fails to assign an IP address, the device will be given the static IP address, 192.168.10.10.
To discover and change the IP address of devices on the network, use the device discovery tool, which is available
on the supplied CDROM.
CAUTION
DHCP server failure & static IP address (192.168.10.10)
- In case you want to use multiple numbers of this device on the same network, you need to be careful about the IP
conflicts. To avoid IP conflicts among the devices, please connect only a single device at a time to the network,
change the IP address, and repeat the process for the rest of the units one by one.
How to find the IP Address of your device
The product has its unique IP address, and users can identify the address by converting the MAC address’ last two
sets of hexadecimal numbers described on the sticker that is attached to the device. Refer to the following figure, and
convert the MAC address to an IP address. Type the identified IP address in the address bar of the Internet Explorer
to access the web page of the product.
How to change the default IP address:
The ‘IPAdminTool’ software allows users to search for the connected devices and to change the IP address of them.
The figure below shows a main UI of ‘IPAdminTool’, and the UI slightly varies depending on the version of
‘IPAdminTool’. Please refer to ‘IPN Using IPAdminTool.pdf’ for more information and its usage.
What is IPAdminTool?
IPAdminTool automatically scans all of the products including encoders and cameras on the network and displays
product’s information, including product name, IP address, MAC address, firmware information, and devices’ uptime.
The tool also allows users to change the IP address or to update the firmware. ‘IPN Using IPAdminTool.pdf’ is available
on the supplied CDROM, and it is highly recommended for users to review before using this tool for better
understanding the software functions and administration controls.
Limitation of the concurrent clients
Depending on streaming configurations and settings, simultaneous connections might reach the limitation due to
system maxed-out capability.
- RTSP Streaming, Unicast: Heavily depends on the maximum throughput in a given time.
