1.1 Kennzeichnungskonzept für Gefahren und Hinweise

1.2 Verantwortlichkeiten des Betreibers

-Lesen Sie diese Anleitung vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes sorgfältig durch.

und hergestellt. Jeder andere Gebrauch, der nicht ausdrücklich angegeben ist, könnte die Unversehrt-

2 Einleitung
Zur Sicherstellung eines einwandfreien Einbaus müssen die nachfolgenden Schritte und Hinweise unbedingt
eingehalten werden. Nur so kann garantiert werden, dass das Produkt zur vollsten Zufriedenheit funktioniert.

Lesen Sie alle Anweisungen genau durch, bevor Sie mit der Installation beginnen. Für Fragen steht Ihnen
unser Verkauf jederzeit gerne zur Verfügung.
Wir beglückwünschen Sie zu Ihrer explosionsgeschützten FlashLED 2 Ex. Sie benutzen damit eine leistungs-
starke Inspektions- und Arbeitsleuchte mit Notlichtfunktion. Wenn Sie folgende Hinweise genau beachten, wird
sie Ihnen in den nächsten Jahren ausgezeichnete und zuverlässige Dienste leisten. Diese FlashLED 2 Ex ist
ausgerüstet mit einem umweltfreundlichen, wiederaufladbaren Lithium Polymer (LiPo) Akku. Die Leuchtdauer
beträgt mehr als 6 Stunden. Gehäuse und Akku bestimmen im wesentlichen Grösse und Gewicht der Leuchte.
Die FlashLED 2 Ex ist gekennzeichnet und erfüllt die Anforderungen der europäischen Richtlinie
2014/30/EU über elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit und der ATEX Richtlinie 2014/34/EU.
Verschleissteile unterliegen nicht der gesetzlichen Gewährleistung.
2.1 Kennzeichnung

Die FlashLED 2 Ex wurde nach der europäischen ATEX Produktrichtlinie 2014/34/EU gekennzeichnet:

Dies bedeutet, dass die FlashLED 2 Ex für die Verwendung in der Industrie entwickelt wurde und die Anfor-
derungen der Gerätegruppe 2 für explosionsfähige Gemische bestehend aus Gasen, Dämpfen (Nebel), oder
Stäuben in der Luft erfüllt wurden. Anwendbar ist die FlashLED 2 Ex für die Benutzung in explosionsgefähr-
deten Risikobereichen der Zonen 1, 21, 2 und 22 mit der angewendeten Zündschutzart „Eigensicherheit“ und
der Gasgruppe IIC sowie Staubgruppe IIIC. Die Temperaturklasse in Bezug zur Zündfähigkeit des Gases ist
T4. Die maximale Oberflächentemperatur bezüglich der Zündtemperatur von Stäuben liegt bei 135 °C.
Das Produkt entspricht der EN 60079-0:2018 (Allgemeine Anforderungen)
und EN 60079-11:2012 (Eigensicherheit).
Die Umgebungs- und Betriebstemperatur liegt im Bereich von -20 °C < Ta < +50 °C.

Die ATEX Zertifizierungsnummer ist SEV 20 ATEX 0436 X. Das X hinter der Zertifizierungsnummer deutet
darauf hin, dass zur sicheren Anwendung weitere Zusatzanweisungen eingehalten werden müssen (siehe
unten).

3.4 Weitere Funktionen durch Tastenkombinationen:
Blinkfunktion: Die gemeinsame Betätigung >1 Sek. der Helligkeitstaste und des Hauptschalters akti-
viert die Blinkfunktion der Leuchte. (Die Helligkeitstaste muss etwas früher gedrückt werden)
Die Blinkfrequenz kann mittels permanentem Tastendruck des Hauptschalters erhöht, respektive verklei-
nert werden.
Morsefunktion: Bei ausgeschalteter Leuchte lassen sich durch Tastendruck auf die Helligkeitstaste
Lichtimpulse erzeugen (Morsen). Dabei wird automatisch der Leuchtmodus "Spotlicht" aktiviert.

4 Ladestation FlashLED 2 Ex
Die Ladestation zu Ihrer FlashLED 2 Ex ergänzt die Leuchte in ihrer Funktionalität. Sie kann sowohl als Tisch-
modell als auch zur Montage an die Wand eingesetzt werden. Mittels Vorhängeschloss (Zubehör) wird die
FlashLED 2 Ex sicher vor Diebstahl in der Ladestation.
Spannungsbereiche:
230 V - Version 85 –264 VAC
Kleinspannungsversion: 12 –24 VDC ± 10%
Einstellungen Notlicht (Emergency light):
Die Notlichtfunktion wird durch die Stellung des Magnetschalters auf Position Notlicht ON aktiviert.
4.1 Ladevorgang FlashLED 2 Ex
Gefahr
WARNUNG –Die FlashLED 2 EX NICHT IM EXPLOSIONSGEFÄHRDETEN BEREICH AUFLADEN.
Für das Ladegerät sind ausschliesslich die beiden nachfolgenden GIFAS Electric FlashLED Ladegeräte zu-
gelassen:
-FlashLED Ladestation 230 VAC, GIFAS Art.-Nr. 860026;
-FlashLED Ladestation 12 –24 VDC, GIFAS Art.-Nr. 860027;
Die Ladestation darf nur Innen, in einer trockenen Umgebung betrieben werden.
Trotz der Tatsache, dass die FlashLED 2 Ex in einem Temperaturbereich unter 0°C betrieben werden kann
sollte man sich gewahr sein, dass die Batteriekapazität sich erheblich vermindert. Ebenso kann dabei die
Batteriezustandsanzeige schwächer werden und die FlashLED 2 Ex sich zum Schutz der Batterie früher ab-
schalten. Die FlashLED 2 Ex kann anschliessend auch mit einer leeren Batterie wieder angeschaltet werden.
Wenn die FlashLED 2 Ex nicht in Gebrauch ist oder der Akku komplett entladen ist, wird nachdrücklich emp-
fohlen diese aus dem Gefahrenbereich zu entfernen und schnellstmöglich wieder in der Ladestation zu laden.
Es ist darauf hinzuweisen, dass die Schutzschaltung der FlashLED 2 Ex jederzeit aktiv bleibt, auch wenn das
Gerät ausgeschaltet zu sein scheint. Diese Schaltung fährt den Batterieverbrauch der FlashLED 2 Ex langsam
herunter bis der Batterieschutzkreislauf die Batterie komplett abgeschaltet hat.

Werkseinstellungen
Fällt die Versorgungsspannung der Ladestation aus, so schaltet sich die Leuchte
im Modus "Arbeitslicht" ein, bis die Akkuschwelle erreicht wird oder die Versor-
gungsspannung wieder vorhanden ist.
OFF
Fällt die Versorgungsspannung der Ladestation aus, so bleibt die Leuchte abge-
schaltet. Empfehlenswert für Ladung mittels Autobatterie.

5 Kontrolle, Instandhaltung und Reparatur
5.1 Kontrolle und Instandhaltung
Bei einer Beschädigung des FlashLED 2 Ex Gehäuses, Griffes oder des LED Frontscheibe durch Brüche,
Beulen und Risse oder durch einen sonstig schlechten oder sehr schmutzigen Zustand muss die FlashLED 2
Ex unverzüglich repariert oder gereinigt werden.
Im Fall einer Beschädigung muss die FlashLED 2 Ex sofort aus dem gefährdeten Bereich entfernt werden da
der interne Stromkreis immer geschlossen ist. Das Gerät darf erst wieder betrieben werden, nachdem eine
Reparatur stattgefunden hat.
Der Akkusatz der FlashLED 2 Ex kann mindestens 1000-mal geladen werden. Da der Akku ein Verschleissteil
darstellt, kann sich in dieser Zeit die Kapazität spürbar verringern. Da andere Faktoren eine weitere Reduzie-
rung der Batteriekapazität hervorrufen können, ist es empfehlenswert bei auffälliger Kapazitätsreduzierung
den Akkusatz zu erneuern. Der Akku ist fest mit der FlashLED 2 Ex Hauptplatine verbunden und somit nicht
vom Benutzer auswechselbar.
Akkus sind Verschleissteile. Diese unterliegen nicht der gesetzlichen Gewährleistung.
Der Wartungszyklus hängt von den spezifischen Einsatzbedingungen ab. Als generelle Richtlinie für Normal-
betrieb wird ein Intervall von 12 Monaten empfohlen.
5.2 Reparatur
Reparaturen an der FlashLED 2 Ex darf nur durch die Verwendung von Originalteilen erfolgen. Die Reparatu-
ren darf nur durch qualifizierte Fachkräfte durchgeführt werden, die in Übereinstimmung mit der EN-IEC
60079-19 oder anderen gültigen Verhaltensvorschriften des Aufstellungsortes geschult worden sind.
Die Verwendung von Nicht-Originalteilen kann zu Gerät- und Personenschäden führen. Bei der Verwendung
von Nicht-Originalteilen oder unsachgemäss durchgeführten Reparaturen erlischt der Garantieanspruch auch
hinsichtlich Explosionssicherheit.
Im Fall einer Reparatur ist es daher ratsam das Gerät an eine der Servicestellen (siehe Kapitel 2.3) zurückzu-
geben.

1.2 Responsibilities of the operator

2 Introduction
To ensure proper installation, the following steps and notes must be complied with under all circumstances.
Only this way can it be ensured that the product will work to complete satisfaction.
Hint
Read all instructions before starting installation. Our sales department will be happy to answer any questions
you may have.
We congratulate you with your purchase of the explosion-safe FlashLED 2 Ex. You are using an efficient in-
spection- and working lamp with emergency light function. If you attend to the following instructions carefully,
this lamp will serve you well for many years. The FlashLED 2 Ex is equipped with an eco-friendly and re-
chargeable Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery. The autonomy behaves to more than 6 hours. Casing and battery
are in essence determined by the size of the lamp.
The FlashLED 2 Ex is marked and fulfils the requirements of the European Electromagnetic Compatibility
directive 2014/30/EU and the ATEX directive 2014/34/EU.
Wear parts are not subject of warranty or guarantee.

This means the FlashLED Ex is designed for use in industrial applications and it fulfils the requirements of
product category 2 for explosive mixtures of gases, mists, vapors or dust in air. This means the FlashLED Ex
is suitable for use in areas classified as hazardous zone 1, 21, 2 and 22. The applied method of protection is
Intrinsic Safety and gas group IIC and dust group IIIC are applicable. The temperature class with regard to the

3.4 Further functions through different key sequences::
Blinking function: The simultaneous operation of the brightness switch and the main switch while the
lamp is switched off activates the blinking function of the lamp. (The brightness key must be activated a split
second earlier than the main switch)
The blinking frequency can be increased and decreased by pressing the main switch continuously.
Morse function: If the lamp is switched off you can generate light pulses (Morse code) by a short press on
the brightness key. The mode "auxiliary lamp" will be activated automatically as long as the button is
pressed.

4 Battery charger FlashLED 2 Ex
The battery charger of your FlashLED 2 Ex completes the function of this lamp. It can be used on table as well
as wall-mounted. By using a padlock (accessory), the FlashLED 2 Ex is safe from theft whilst in the battery
charging station.
Voltage range:
230 V version: 85 –264 VAC
Low voltage version: 12 –24 VDC ± 10%
Settings for emergency light:
The emergency light function will be activated by changing the magnetic switch to the Emergency Light ON
position.
4.1 Charging of the FlashLED 2 Ex

WARNING –CHARGING OF THE FLASHLED 2 EX IN AN EX-AREA IS NOT ALLOWED. Only the following
original GIFAS ELECTRIC FlashLED battery chargers are allowed:
-FlashLED battery charger 230 VAC, GIFAS Item no. 860026;
-FlashLED battery charger 12 –24 VDC, GIFAS Item no. 860027;
The charger may only be used indoors, in a clean and dry location.
Even though the FlashLED 2 Ex maybe allowed to be used at temperatures below 0 ºC, please be aware that
the battery capacity may be substantially reduced. Also the battery indicator may become less accurate and
the FlashLED 2 Ex may be automatically switched off early to protect the battery. The FlashLED 2 Ex can be
switched on again until the battery is completely empty.
When the FlashLED 2 Ex is not used or when the battery is completely empty it is highly recommended to
remove it from the hazardous area and to place it in the charger.
It should be noted that protective circuits in the FlashLED 2 Ex remain active at all times, even when the device
appears to be turned off. These circuits will slowly drain the FlashLED 2 Ex until battery protection circuits
completely shut off the battery.

light" until the battery threshold is reached or the power supply is available again.

If the power supply fails, the lamp stays switched off. Advisable for recharging

5 Control, maintenance and repair
5.1 Inspection and maintenance
If the FlashLED 2 Ex enclosure, grip, or LED window appears cracked, dented, broken or otherwise no longer
in good condition or are very dirty they must be repaired or cleaned immediately.
In case of damage to the FlashLED 2 Ex it must be removed from the hazardous area immediately as the
devices internal circuits are always on. The device may only be restored after the repair has been carried out.
The battery pack of the FlashLED 2 Ex is able to receive 1000 charges. The battery is a consumable part and
the capacity may be reduced over this period of time. As other factors can further reduce the battery capacity
it is recommended to have the battery pack replaced when noticeable capacity reduction has occurred. The
battery pack is permanently connected to the FlashLED 2 Ex main board and therefore it is not user replace-
able.
Batteries are consumable parts. These are not subject to the legal warranty.
The cycle of maintenance depends on the specific conditions of use. As a general guideline for normal opera-
tion a 12 month interval is recommended.
5.2 Repair
Repair to the FlashLED 2 Ex may only be done by using original parts. It shall be carried out by qualified skilled
workers who have been trained in accordance with EN-IEC 60079-19 or other codes of practice valid on the
place of installation.
Applying of non-original parts may lead to injury to persons and damage to equipment. If non-original parts are
used or repair has been carried out in an incompetent manner the warranties concerning explosion safety no
longer apply.
Therefore it is advised to return the equipment to the service centers (see chapter 2.3) in case repair is re-
quired.
