Your CD Boombox2
In The Box
Carefully remove your CD Boombox from the packaging.
Inside the box you will find:

Mains Power
Your CD Boombox requires a mains supply of 230-240V AC ~ 50Hz.
Please ensure that your mains supply is compatible before use.
Disconnect the power cord from the mains when not in use.
Position of CD Boombox
Place on a flat, stable surface that is not subject to vibrations. Avoid
the following locations:
• Where it is exposed to direct sunlight
• Where it is close to heat radiating sources
• Where the humidity is high and ventilation is poor
• Where it is dusty
Adjusting the Aerial
Fully extend the aerial to ensure good reception in both MW and FM
Radio modes. It may be necessary to alter the position of the CD
Boombox and/or the aerial to achieve the best signal.

BT mode to unpair a device.

Press to Play or Pause playback of a
CD. This button also doubles up as a
standby button. Press and hold to
enter standby and press again to
wake.
I button. Press to skip to next CD
track(s). Press and hold to fast
forward CD tracks.
J CD/BT. Press to switch between CD
and Bluetooth modes.
K CD compartment release button.
Press to open the CD compartment.
L TUNING dial. Use this dial to locate
a radio frequency using the tuning
control.
M Speakers.
N LCD display
O FM ST/BT indicator. FM stereo and
Bluetooth indication.
P POWER indicator. This will
illuminate when the power is on.

Quick Setup3
Power On/Off and Function Selection
1. This CD Boombox is supplied with a mains cable.
To connect the power insert the figure 8 shaped end in the
rear of the unit.
2. Insert the plug into a power socket, and switch the power on.
3. Set the function switch to either CD/AUX/BT. or RADIO for
operation. Set to the off position to turn the radio off.
Standby & Auto Standby
1. Press the /ECO PWR button to wake from standby
mode.
2. Press and hold the /ECO PWR button to enter Standby
mode.
Due to new ECO regulation requirements this product
incorporates a power saving feature.
3. When in CD mode or AUX mode, once audio playback has
ceased and the unit has stood idle for approximately 20
minutes, it will switch into a ‘power-down’ power saving
mode.
4. To wake the unit up, press the /ECO PWR button.

Adjusting the Volume
Rotate the volume control clockwise or anti-clockwise to
increase or decrease the volume output.
Fitting Batteries
1. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit
(see diagram below).
2. Insert 6 x C size batteries taking care to match the + & -
polarity symbols correctly.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

The mains cable must be detached from the AC socket of the
player for the batteries to power the unit.
Leaking batteries may damage the battery cabinet and the
player as a whole. If you are not going to use the CD Boombox
for an extended period, please remove the batteries to avoid
damage.
Caution: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

4.1 Load a Disc
1. Open the CD lid using the OPEN button.
2. Load a disc onto the disc tray with the label side facing up.
3. Close the CD door.
Play a Disc
1. Slide the function switch to the CD/AUX/BT. position.
2. Follow the steps above to load a disc (if not already loaded).
3. When the disc is successfully read, the total number of
tracks on the disc will appear on the LCD display.
4. Press the /ECO PWR button once to begin playback.
Press the button again to pause the music playback. The
‘PLAY’ icon and timecode flashes on the display indicate
the player is in Pause mode; press the / UNPAIR button to
stop music playback. The display shows the total number of
tracks again.
Skip Tracks and Search For a Specific Point To
Play
1. Press the button once during playback to skip to the
next track. To skip to a specific track, press this button
several times until you reach the track number required.
2. Press the button once during playback to return to the
beginning of the current track. Press the button twice
repeatedly to skip to the previous track. To skip back to a
specific track, press this button several times.
3. Hold the button during playback to fast forward the
current track.
4. Hold the button during playback to fast rewind the
current track.

Programmed Play
To programme an alternative playback order of tracks follow
the below steps.
1. Make sure the unit is not playing a disc.
2. Press the REP./PROG. button. The programme sequence
“1--” appears on the display & the PROGRAMME indicator
‘P’ flashes on the display.
3. Select the first track to be programmed using the /
buttons.
4. Press the PROG. button again to store and advance to the
next programmed track. The programme sequence
indication changes to “2--” momentarily waiting for your
next input.
5. Repeat the steps above to programme more tracks.
A maximum of 20 tracks can be programmed.
6. Press the button to begin the programmed playback in
the preferred order.
7. You can press the button to terminate programmed
playback.
Repeat Single/All Track(s)
1. During playback press the REP./PROG. button once, you
will see the REPEAT SINGLE indicator ‘ ’appear on the
display. This indicates the current track will repeat until the
button is pressed.
2. During playback press the MODE button twice, you will see
the REPEAT ALL indicator ‘ ’ appear on the display.
This indicates that all the tracks of the current disc will
repeat until the button is pressed.
3. During playback press the MODE button three times, you
will see the RANDOM indicator ‘RAND’ appear on the
display. This indicates that all the tracks of the current disc
will play in a random order until the button is pressed.
4. To turn off any of the functions press the button. or press
the MODE button until the ‘RAND’ icon disapears.

Tuning a Station
1. Slide the function switch to the RADIO position.
2. Set the required band with the BAND selection switch.
To listen to an FM station set the function switch to FM ST.
3. Tune the station by rotating the TUNING control.
When receiving an FM broadcast, fully extend the telescopic
antenna and angle it for the best reception.
For MW broadcasts, vary the position of the unit until the best
reception is located.
4. Adjust the volume to a comfortable listening level using the
VOLUME control.
Aux In Mode
Connect an external audio source like an MP3 player using a
3.5mm audio cable (not supplied).
1. Connect one end of the cable to the MP3 player
headphone output and the other end to the AUX input on
the left hand side of the unit.
2. Slide the function switch to the CD/AUX/BT. position (when
the 3.5mm audio cable is connected the AYX mode
becomes active).
3. Press on the external audio source.
The volume output is affected by the volume level on the
source EG: MP3 player so make sure that is set to about
70-80% ( not too loud to avoid distortion ).
4. Adjust the VOLUME control on the unit to the required
listening level.

Connecting Earphones
1. Connect the 3.5mm jack to the earphone socket on the
side of the unit marked with a ‘ ‘ icon.
2. Once connected all audio output from the speakers will
stop until the earphones are disconnected.
If your earphones have the wrong size jack you will need to
purchase an adapter.
• Listen at moderate volumes to avoid hearing damage.
• If you hear no sound during playing, do not turn up volume
as the music may suddenly begin at a high volume.
• Excessive sound pressure from earphones and
headphones can cause hearing loss.
• To avoid damaging your ears, adjust the volume to the
lowest safe level before playing, and turn up to the desired
level when playback has started.

Pairing a Bluetooth Device
1. Slide the FUNCTION switch to the CD/AUX/BT. position.
Then press the CD/BT. button.
2. After entering Bluetooth mode the blue LED will flash to
indicate the Boombox is in pairing mode, with no device
connected.
3. Enable Bluetooth on your audio device and search for
available bluetooth connections. Select the ‘GOODMANS
CD BOOMBOX’ from the list. If you are asked for a pass
code enter ‘0000’.
If you turn off either device before pairing is complete the
process will need to be repeated when powered on again.
If you do not see ‘GOODMANS CD BOOMBOX’ press the CD/
BT. button twice to re-initiate pairing mode.
4. Once paired the blue LED will stop flashing & the paired
audio indicator melody will be heard.
Each time you switch the Boombox on and select Bluetooth
mode the device will automatically connect, unless you have
un-paired the device.
5. You can now begin playback from the audio device and the
output will playback through the Boombox.
6. Should you wish to un-pair a connected device and
connect another, press & hold the / unpair button. When
the pairing mode is initiated a different audio indicator
melody will be heard.

source EG: Phone or laptop, so make sure that is set to about
70-80% (not too loud to avoid distortion).
Adjust the VOLUME on the unit to the required listening level.
Operating a Connected Device
Once paired you can control some playback functions from
the remote control.
• / ECO PWR button. Press to Play or Pause playback
of a paired Bluetooth device.
• button. Press to skip to the previous track of a paired
Bluetooth device.
• button. Press to skip to the next track of a paired
Bluetooth device.

Problem What to do
No Power Check the mains plug is connected to the wall socket.
Switch the wall socket on.
Press the / ECO PWR button to wake from Standby
mode.
No sound from the CD
No sound from an AUX input
The volume level is too low. Increase using the
volume control.
Remove any connected 3.5mm cable from the AUX
input socket.
The volume level is too low. Increase using the
volume control.
The external audio source volume is too low,
increase the volume level.
The sound is distorted
The sound is distorted from an AUX input
Reduce the CD boombox volume level using the
volume control.
The external audio source volume is too high,
decrease the volume level.
Unable to play a CD Check there is a disc present in the CD
compartment.
Remove and re-insert the CD with the label side
facing upwards.
Clean the disc, it may be dirty. If scratched try
another disc.
Static interference when listening to the
radio
This is caused by poor reception. Re-locate the
antenna or if that fails try moving the CD boombox
to a different location.
No sound from the Bluetooth input Check the external device is paired correctly.
The external audio source volume is too low,
increase the volume level.
