reception. Before Installingyour Digital boxtune your existing analogue TV to
BBC1 and selectTeletext and input page 284. Follow the on screen instructions
to test ifyou aerial /location is suitablefor FreeView Digital reception.

Please note thatsome Freeview broadcasts are transmitted usinglow quality
format. These tend to be reality programmes or old movies. If you are using
HDMI output with resolution set at 1080I and see a noisy / distorted image
then this may be improved by reducing the resolution to 720P.

BE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Do not disposebatteries as normalrubbish. Be environmentallyfriendly,
dispose batteries followingthe Government's regulation.
INTRODUCTION
Remove the batterycompartment cover.
Load two AAA(UM-4 or R03) batteries into the
battery compartment.
Make sure thatthe batteries have been inserted
in the correctpolarities matching to the symbols
+, - markedin the battery compartment. Close
the battery compartmentcover.
When replacing batteries,replace both batteries.
Do not mixnew and used batteries operating
together, otherwise, theoperation lifetime will
be much shorterthan normal.
Remove the batteriesif the unit will not beused
for a prolongedperiod of time.
The remote controltransmits a directional
infrared beam. Besure to aim the remote
control directly atthe infrared sensor of the
unit during operation.
If the sensorhas been covered or there isa
large object betweenthe remote control and
the sensor, thesensor will not respond.
The sensor maynot able to receive the
remote signal whenit is exposed to direct
sunlight or astrong artificial light (fluorescent
or strobe light).In this case, change the
direction of thelight or reposition the unit to
avoid direct lighting.

Note 1:
The AUDIO buttonon the remote can be usedto switch
on the AUDIODESCRIPTION (AD) that are broadcast onsome
Programmes. As notall programmes will transmit AD youwill
need to checkwith your TV programme guide thatit is being
transmitted. Pressing theAUDIO button repeatedly will toggle
ENGLISH (normal audio)and ENGLISH AD(Audio description).
When AD isselected and AD is being transmittedthe normal
audio is replaced bya narrative ofwhat is beingshown on theTV.

Turn on yourTV set and select the correspondingAV input (with the AV key,or simular, on the
television remote control).
Turn on themain power supply to the STB,the indicator on the front ofthe unit will turn red andthen
blue. In standbymode, the indicator light will bered. In working mode, the indicatorlight will be
blue.
Switching on for the first time
GETTING STARTED
If you usethe STB for the first timeor have deleted all channels inthe STB,
a "TV Setting"menu displays.
Press "LEFT" or"RIGHT" cursor buttonto choose either "16:9" or "4:3"
according to theTV shape you have..
Make sure thatthe TV aerial is connected tothe unit then, press "OK"
button to continueinstallation.
Press "LEFT" or"RIGHT" cursor button to highlight "confirm".
Press "OK" buttonto continue. " Scan Progress" menuwill appear and
list the channels as they arefound. A bar appears below thelisting panel
that indicates theprogress of the channel search.
When all channelshave been found, the channel atthe top of the list
will show onthe TV.

If you knowthat a new channel is beingbroadcast and want to this channeland know whatfrequency
it is beingtransmitted on then use this quickmethod of addinga new channel.Otherwise use the

Changing Channels
There are fourways of channel selection - steppingthrough the channellist, selection by number,
from the on-screenchannel list, and using the EPG
Press the "UP"or "DOWN" cursor button to browseup and browse down the available channels.
Selection by number:
Enter the completechannel number directly by remote control to select desiredchannel.
Selection by on-screenchannels list:
You can alsoselect the desired channel directly from on-screen channel
list. This isdisplayed using the STB's main menu. Please See "CHANNELLIST" in this manual for
the operation detail.

You can alsoselect the desired channel directly from EPG. This isdisplayed by pressing
the "EPG" buttonon the remote control. The EPGprovides a brief description of the programme
on the currentlyselected channel and lists the current
channels.
Press the "EPG"button to enter the Channel Schedule.
Press the "CH+"or "CH- " cursor button toselect
the desired channel,the screen switches to the programmeon
the currently selectedchannel.
Press "EXIT "button to exitthe EPG and view the
channel on fullscreen.

SETTING A REMINDER
From the EPG, you can change channels ,checkprogramme information ,access one-week
programme schedule whichdetails the times and programmes forthe next seven days and seta
reminder for 8programmes to automatically view at thepreset time. .

on the selectedchannel, and check the current programmeinformation.
Press "LEFT"or "RIGHT"cursor button to navigate the programlists in next
seven days.

Press "OK" buttonto add the reminder, then willappear alongside the selected
programme. When thereminder programme is about to start,a reminder window will appear.

Channel List
The Channel Listpresents a list of all channelsfound during the channel search. Fromthe Channel List
you can watchand listen to the selected channels,delete them from the list,
edit the nameof the channel, set a passwordto access the channel.
Press "MENU " button to enter the main menuof the STB.
Press "UP " or "DOWN " cursor button to highlight .
Press "OK " button to enter Channel List menu.
Press "UP"or "DOWN"cursor button tohighlight a channel.

Lock/Unlock a channel:
Enter the channellist menu, press "UP" or "DOWN"cursor button
to select yourdesired channel.
Press the BLUE button, you areasked to enter pin code.
Enter a correctpin code using the numeric buttons,press "OK"
button to confirm.(thedefault pin code is 888888)
Then a locksymbol displays alongsidethe selected channel, it shows
that the channelhas been locked.
Repeat to removethe lock symbol.
Press "EXIT "button to exitthe channel list.

To delete allexisting channels in the STB, andreset the STB to factory default
setting, this isalso useful if you move toanother area and need to rescanin all
the channels.
