Section 1: Safety Precautions
Never Operate the EG-400 Grinder without the hopper chute in place.
SAFETY GLASSES must be worn at all times during operation, cleaning, and servicing of the machine.
Never wear loose fitting clothing that can get caught on any moving parts.
Long hair must be worn up and tied back or in a hat or hair net.
Never insert any foreign items into the EG-400 grinder that weren’t supplied by the manufacturer and described
in this manual.
Never place hands or body parts into the hopper, grinder, or near any moving parts during operation.
Always disconnect power before cleaning or servicing this machine.
Never overload the EG-400 grinder by forcing produce through.
If any components are damaged or are malfunctioning, discontinue use immediately and get the machine serviced.

Section 2: Unpacking
2.1 UNPACKING
The EG-400 grinder has been packaged for shipment. After Crate is unloaded and delivered, remove the crate,
banding and shrink wrap to expose the grinder for inspection.
This equipment was carefully inspected mechanically and electrically before shipment. It should be physically
free of marks or scratches and in perfect electrical order upon delivery.
Inspect for physical damage, electrical damage, or any loose or bare wires.
If any items are damaged due to shipping, contact the freight carrier within 15 days of receiving your shipment.
Unpack and inspect all enclosed parts. Check to make sure no parts are missing. There is an Enclosed Parts List
located later in this section.

Section 3: Installation
Check for proper voltage before connecting any power to the machine.
The EG-400 Grinder ships without a power cord. A licensed professional must install a proper cord and plug end.
Safety limit switch needs to be correctly installed by a licensed electrician.
The voltage and amperage of the power supply depend on the specifications provided by the customer. Information
should be written in on page 2 of this manual. For help finding this information call Goodnature customer service.

Make sure the EG-400 is securely fastened to a frame or stand. Motor should be properly grounded and dry. Switch
should be in the “o” position.
After unpacking and before running, it is important to check that no fasteners became loose during shipping.
Check all nuts, bolts, and screws to make sure everything is tight.
3.1 INSTALL ATION
IMPORTANT WARNING: All electrical connections should be made by a licensed professional in
accordance with state and local codes.

The EG-400 comes with two sizes of grinding screens. One is already installed on your machine.
For harder fruits and vegetables a small holed grinding screen is recommended. A larger holed screen is
recommended for a softer produce.
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ACCESS GRINDING SCREEN WITHOUT FIRST DISCONNECTING THE
POWER SOURCE.

Release front latch and lift hopper back
The grinder blade should spin from the top of the unit towards the back. The grinding screen rests in a track located below
the blades. Beginning at the rear of the track, slide screen into the track until it reaches the front.
Lower the hopper to its original position and latch securely.
To change the screen, simply slide the old screen out and slide the new on in.

Section 4: Operation
SAFETY GLASSES must be worn at all times during operation.
Minors are NOT allowed to operate this machinery.
Never place hand, arms, or any foreign items into the grinder hopper, grinder chute, or grinder housing during
operation. Injury or damage to the machine can occur.
All pits and large seeds should be removed from produce before grinding.

Check to make sure there are no foreign items in the hopper, and that all components are in working order and are
securely attached as according to the Setup section of this manual.
Connect Power.
To power on grinder, turn the disconnect switch to on, pull out the red emergency stop button and press the green ‘Run’
button on the Keypad. The grinder will return to the speed to which is was set the last time it was run.
The grinder should be freely turning away from the hopper opening with no interference or rub- bing. If it isn’t, shut the
grinder o and contact Goodnature Customer service.

Section 5: Cleaning
Power O and Disconnect all power before cleaning.

Beware of all pinch-points and moving parts.
5.1 MACHINE CLEANING

The first step to cleaning is to remove any hand-removable parts and place in sink or aside for cleaning and sanitizing
separately.
All remaining produce should be hosed o and removed. Avoid spraying water directly at any motors and controls.
After all easily-removable debris has been cleaned o, we recommend using a cleanser that will help break down and
remaining particles. “Master Kleen” can be purchased through our customer service, or any similar products can be
used. For information on the chemical makeup of “Master Kleen” please contact Goodnature Products customer service
(716)-855- 3325.
Mix up the cleanser solution as described in the instructions enclosed with the cleanser using hot water. Wash down all
surfaces produce has come into contact with.
All removed parts can be washed and sanitized by hand in a sink or soaked if desired.

Section 6: Maintenance

6.1 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

Keep machine clean and free of any foreign objects.
Check all fasteners for tightness and damage.
Zerk fittings are provided to allow greasing of the bearings on either side of the grinder blades. These bearings should be
greased regularly to insure proper operation. ONCE A WEEK
Check the condition and tension of the V-Belts.
Check condition and tension of adjustable latch.
Test safety switch adjustment.
