You will need this manual for the safety warnings and precautions, operating,
inspection, maintenance, and cleaning procedures, parts list and assembly
diagram. Keep your invoice with this manual. Write the invoice number on the
inside of the front cover. Keep this manual and invoice in a safe and dry place for
future reference.
GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
1. KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN AND DRY. Cluttered, damp or wet work areas
invite injuries.
2. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM WORK AREA. Do not allow children to handle
this product.
3. STORE IDLE EQUIPMENT. When not in use, tools and equipment should be
stored in a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools and equipment and
keep out of reach of children.
4. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IF UNDERTHE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR
DRUGS. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or
reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not attempt to
use this product.
5. USE EYE PROTECTION. Wear ANSI approved safety impact eye glasses when
using this product. ANSI approved safety impact eye glasses are available from
Harbor Freight Tools.

6. DRESS SAFELY. Non-skid footwear or safety shoes should be used when
working with this product. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can
become caught in moving parts. Wear a protective hair covering to prevent long
hair from becoming caught in moving parts. If wearing a long-sleeve shirt, roll
sleeves up above elbows.
7. INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS MUST FOLLOW OSHA REQUIREMENTS.
8. DO NOT OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times to prevent
tripping, falling, back injury, etcetera.
9. STAY ALERT. Watch what you are doing at all times. Use common sense. Do
not use this product when you are tired or distracted from the job at hand.
10. CHECK FOR DAMAGED PARTS. Before using this product, carefully check that
it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for damaged
parts and any other conditions that may affect the operation of this product.
Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately.
11. REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES. When servicing, use only
identical replacement parts. Only use accessories intended for use with this
product. Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools.
12. MAINTAIN THIS PRODUCT WITH CARE. Keep this tool clean and dry for better
performance.
13. MAINTENANCE: For your safety, service and maintenance should be performed
regularly by a qualified technician.
14. USE THE RIGHT PRODUCT FOR THE RIGHT JOB. There are certain
applications for which this product was designed. Do not use small equipment,
tools or attachments to do the work of larger industrial equipment, tools or at-
tachments. Do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not intended.
SPECIFIC PRODUCT WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
1. AVOID INJURY TO THE EYES. DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE
SPOTLIGHT, AND DO NOT POINTTHE SPOTLIGHT AT OTHER PEOPLE.
2. DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS LENS (part #2), AS IT MAY BECOME HOT
DURING OPERATION
3. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THE BATTERY OR REMOVE ANY PARTS FROM
THE BATTERY AND SURROUNDING CONNECTIONS.

4. DO NOT ALLOW THE SPOTLIGHT TO BE EXPOSED TO FIRE OR HIGH
HEAT, AS THIS MAY RESULT IN THE BATTERY EXPLODING.
5. DISCONNECT POWER. UNPLUG THE CHARGER WHEN THE SPOTLIGHT
IS NOT IN USE.
6. DO NOT SUBMERGE THE SPOTLIGHT IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS.
7. NOTE: PERFORMANCE OF THIS TOOL (IF POWERED BY LINE VOLTAGE)
MAY VARY DEPENDING ON VARIATIONS IN LOCAL LINE VOLTAGE.
EXTENSION CORD USAGE MAY ALSO AFFECTTOOL PERFORMANCE.
8. GROUNDING/VOLTAGE WARNING: Common household current is 110-120
volts. As long as the outlet used with the Spotlight is rated from 110-120V there
will be no complications using it with household receptacles. Plug the Spotlight
into a 110-120V properly ground outlet protected by a 15-Amp, duel element time
delay or circuit breaker. NEVER try to plug a 110-120V tool into a 220-240V
circuit, or serious complications and possible injury to the operator may occur.
9. FOLLOW GUIDELINES FOR BATTERY (part #9) DISPOSAL. The Spotlight is
powered by a rechargeable Battery which will have a long life span. However,
when the Battery is no longer functioning, it should be removed from the Spot-
light and properly recycled. Many states require recycling. Contact your local
solid waste authority for information on recycling. Before disposing of the
Battery, wrap exposed terminals with heavy tape to prevent a shorting condition
which could cause fire and/or injury.
10. WARNING: This product contains or produces a chemical known to the State of
California to cause cancer and birth defects (or other reproductive harm).

UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure all parts shown on the Parts List and Assembly
Diagram (page 8) are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor
Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible.

To Charge The Spotlight Battery, Using 110-120 Volt AC Household Current:
1.
To charge the Battery
(part #9)
by using 110-120 Volt AC household current,
insert the cord end of the Charging Controller (part #16) into the Charger Plug
(part #7) located on the side of the Spotlight. (See Figure A, and Assy.
Diagram.)

2. Insert the cord end of the Power Adapter (part #18) in the plug located on the
back of the Charging Controller (part #16). Then, plug the Power Adapter into a
110-120 Volt electrical outlet. The battery charging time will be between 8 to 14
hours (depending on the degree of battery discharged). When the battery is fully
charged, the Charging Controller will automatically shut off.
Note: Always recharge the Spotlight within a 24 hour period after each use.
Caution: Never completely discharge the battery. Deep battery discharge will decrease
batterylife.
To ChargeThe Spotlight Battery, Using 12 Volt DC Current:
1.
To charge the Battery
(part #9)
by using 12Volt DC current,
insert the cord end of
the Charging Controller (part #16) into the Charger Plug (part #7) located on the
side of the Spotlight. (See Figure A, and Assy. Diagram.)
2. Insert the cord end of the Car Adapter (part #17) into the plug located on the
back of the Charging Controller (part #16). Then, plug the Car Adapter into the
vehicle’s lighter. The battery charging time will be between 5 to 11 hours depend-
ing on the degree of battery discharged, the Charging Controller will automatically
shutoff.
3. NOTE: You may use the Spotlight from your vehicle. To do so, leave the Car
Adapter (part #17) plugged into the vehicle’s lighter.

Additional Product Features:
1. The Spotlight is equipped with an On/Off Switch Button (part #13) to allow you to
have the Spotlight on while leaving your hands free for work. To turn on the
Spotlight, press down on the On/Off Switch Button. Repeat to shut off the
Spotlight. (See Figure B, and Assy. Diagram.)
2. The Handle (part #8) may be swiveled vertically up to 360 degrees. To do so,
press the Handle Locking Button (part #6). Raise or lower the Handle to the
desired degree. Then, release the Handle Locking Button. (See Figures A, B,
and Assy. Diagram.) Note: Never leave Spotlight unattended with the Handle
Locking Button left on.
3. The Bracket (part #12) can be used as either a ring handle or a stand to Support
the Spotlight on a table, the ground, etcetera. To do so, lower the Bracket down
all the way. (See Figures A, B, and Assy. Diagram.)
4. The Spotlight is equipped with a Strap (parts #14, #15) to allow you to carry it on
your shoulder. To connect the Strap to the Spotlight, attach each end of the
Strap to the Bracket (part #12). (See Figure C, and Assy. Diagram.)

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING
1.
Caution:
Always allow time for the Glass Lens (part #2) to completely cool
before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning.
2. Before each use, inspect the general condition of the Spotlight. Check for broken
parts, insufficient battery charging, and any other condition that may affect its
safe operation. If a problem with the Spotlight occurs, immediately discontinue
using the tool and have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use
damaged equipment.
3. In the event the Battery (part 9) requires replacement, open the Back Lid (part
#11). Pull out the Battery, and disconnect the wires. Then, connect the wires to
a new Battery. Insert the Battery in the Spotlight, and close the Back Lid. (See
Assy. Diagram.)
4. To replace the Halogen Bulb (part #4), unscrew and remove the Lamp Lid (part
#1). Remove the Glass Lens (part #2). Next, remove the old Halogen Bulb and
replace with a new Halogen Bulb. (See Assy. Diagram.)
4. Do not use solvents to clean the Spotlight, as damage to the tool may occur. To
clean, use a damp cloth. If necessary, a mild detergent may be used. Then,
completely dry.
5. When storing, keep the Spotlight in a box or covered with a cloth cover.

Replacing Battery: To replace battery, remove the (4) rubber plugs in Back Lid (#11).
Use a small prying tool, or a needle-nose plier to do this. With a #1 Phillips driver,
remove the (4) screws in the lid, and lift it from the housing. Slide the battery out by
pulling straight back on the case. Insert the new battery, observing the polarity markings
both on the battery, and in the bottom of the battery compartment. Replace and fasten
the Back Lid.
