Printer Setup
1. Read the manufacturer’s instruction manual pro-
vided with the printer for detailed information about
the printer.
2. Read your system instruction manual for warnings
and information about connecting the printer.
3. Plug the printer power supply into a grounded
outlet and insert the adapter jack into the connec-
tor on the back of the printer.
4. Turn the printer power switch on (I).
5. Feed the paper roll into the slot at the bottom of
the paper compartment as instructed in the
manufacturer’s printer manual. Paper should
automatically feed into the printer when it is
inserted properly.

Set the Software DIP Switches
1. Turn the printer power switch off (O).
2. Press and hold the ONLINE button and turn the
power switch on. The printer will output the current
DIP switch settings.
3. Compare the settings to the settings shown for
your system on the back of this form.
4. If the settings are correct, press the FEED button
to exit the DIP switch setting mode.
5. If the settings require changes, each switch (SW)
[1–8 at DIP switch levels 1, 2 and 3] must be
entered in sequence. To change the settings:
a. Press the ONLINE button. DIP SW–1 will print.
b. Press the ONLINE button to set the switch to
“ON”. Press the FEED button to set it to “OFF”.
Set all eight DIP SW-1 switches.
Example: The button sequence for DIP SW–1 for the Hori-
zontsystem would be: FEED - ONLINE - ONLINE - ONLINE
- FEED - FEED - ONLINE - ONLINE
c. After entering all 8 switches for DIP SW–1,
press the ONLINE button to go to DIP SW–2,
and set all the switches.
Example: The button sequence for DIP SW–2 for the Hori-
zontsystem would be: ONLINE - ONLINE - ONLINE -
ONLINE - ONLINE - ONLINE - ONLINE - FEED
d. Press the ONLINE button to go to DIP SW–3,
and set all the switches.
Example: The button sequence for DIP SW–3 for the Hori-
zontsystem would be: ONLINE - ONLINE - ONLINE -
ONLINE - FEED - ONLINE - ONLINE - ONLINE
e. If all entries were made correctly, press the
FEED button to save the settings and exit the
DIP switch setting mode. If errors were made,
repeat the procedure to set the switches.
