energyaccumulatingparts,wearsafetyglasses,safetygogglesorfaceshieldtoprotecteyes.
Inanyothercases, aslongasyou arenotsure, youmust useeyeprotectivedevice.
(c)Useothersafetyappliancessuchasglovesorsafetybootsifnecessary.Movinghotorsharp
partswill causesevereburnorcut, sowearglovesbeforeholding anyobject that seemsto
causeinjury.
(d)When lifting vehicles, you must protect yourselfand others.Usecrane orjacktolift vehicles
andusesupporting racktoensurethe vehiclesgetreliablesupport.
2. Unless otherwisespecified, beforestarting anymaintenance, ensurethe engine hasflamed out
whichcanpreventthe followingdangers:
(a)Engineexhaustgaswill causecarbonmonoxideintoxication.Ensureperfectventilationwhen
starting theengine.
(b)Hotpartsorrefrigerant burn. Beforeworking nearengineand exhaust systemarea, letthe
engine and exhaustsystemcooldown.
(c)Injury caused byrotating parts. Whenrotatingthe engineasrequired, ensureyourhands,
fingersandclothesarefarawayfromthe rotatingparts.
