1 GENERAL

The SMT SMART MEDIATABLE is a mobile side table with

integrated touch screen. It has interfaces to TV, WiFi and

smartphones (Android). These operating instructions (here-

inafter also referred to as instructions) provide users and

operators with precise information on the safe assembly

and proper operation of the SMART MEDIATABLE (herein-

after also referred to as SMT).

We reserve the right to make technical changes without

prior notice as we continue to update the product covered

in these instructions. These instructions were originally

written in German. All other languages are translations of

these instructions.

Applicability

These instructions are only applicable to the SMT and

accessories supplied by the GREINER GmbH company

(also abbreviated as GREINER)

Disposal

When designing the SMT, care was taken – whenever

possible – not to use composite materials. This design

concept means that the product is highly recyclable

once it has reached the end of its service life. In the event

of scrapping the product, dispose of the used metal

and plastic parts separately and in accordance with the

regulations. If you have any questions, contact your

local municipality, local waste disposal companies or

our service department. Observe country-speciﬁc regu-

lations for disposal!

1.1 Scope of delivery SMT SMART MEDIATABLE

The SMT is delivered as a system in a package and consists

of 1x SMT board and 1x SMT cart.

Chapter 2 (Assembly) explains how both components are

converted to the SMT SMART MEDIATABLE.

2. Screw the bracket for the side tray onto the

middle section from above.

1. Connect and attach the lower part to the

middle part using the 4 screws supplied.

3. Attach the support tray to the middle section to

form the basic frame of the assembled SMT cart.

4. Now simply "click" the side tray into the frame.

The installation of the SMT board onto the SMT cart is

described in chapter 3 (Installation).

2 ASSEMBLY

Please follow the illustrated diagram step by step when

setting up the SMT Smart MediaTable.

The orientation of the SMT (depending on whether the

side tablet is to be placed on the right or left) can be ﬂexibly

adjusted in just a few easy steps:

1. Turn the SMT board vertically so that you can

see the bottom.

2. Then open the cable panel at 2 points using

a screwdriver.

3. The cable is now exposed and can be routed to either

the right or left side as desired.

4. Close the cover again and lead the cable out on

the desired side.

5. First loosen the four ﬁxing screws again (see

previous step) and carefully lift the SMT board out of the

metal ﬁxture. The SMT board can now be turned 180°

in the desired direction. Then tighten the ﬁxing screws

again.

3 INSTALLATION

The integration of the SMT board and SMT cart into the

SMT SMART MEDIATABLE is described below.

Please follow the diagram to attach the SMT board to the

previously assembled SMT cart.

Carefully slide the SMT board into the metal ﬁxture. Make

sure that the SMT board's cable outlet is facing the SMT

cart. To change the customer-speciﬁc cable outlet follow

the steps in chapter 3.1.

Now that the SMT board is in the metal ﬁxture, tighten

the 4 screws (as shown in the diagram). The SMT system

is now fully assembled.

Tools for mounting and changing the cable outlet are not

included with delivery. Please use the attached fastening

materials.

3.1 SMT BOARD ORIENTATION (ON USER'S BEHALF)

The cables are secured with cable

ties at the cable outlet from the duct

so that they do not touch the ﬂoor.

The SMT has a smooth mobility thanks to its 4 double

swivel castors. These let the SMT move to any

desired position. The white handles can be used as

sliding elements for spatial movement.

4 OPERATION

Operating the SMT is simple, safe and intuitive for both

nursing staff and patients.

The SMT only has 2 relevant adjustment levers, so any

user can learn how to operate it in a very short amount

of time. The levers are identiﬁed by their grey metal alloy

appearance.

5 SMT BOARD

The SMT board consists of an integrated android smart

tablet, whose function is explained in detail in chapter 5.4.

The tablet is enclosed in a plastic cover with a built-in

antibacterial surface. The screen is protected by a shatter-

proof mineral glass pane.

The SMT's inclination angle can easily be ad-

justed by using the tilt lever on the SMT board.

For this, use your other hand to support the

outer handle of the SMT in order to adjust to

the appropriate angle.

The SMT can be used in horizontal

position as a side table or patient tray.

Likewise, food trays that have already

been used can easily be placed on it.

It can be loaded with up to 30 kg.

The lever under the side tray enables continu-

ous vertical adjustment downwards. The SMT

adapts to the desired height by means of gentle

pressure. The built-in "safety height lift" allows

the height adjustment upwards (without the need

to push the lever with one hand). The SMT

will automatically conform if the patient goes into

shock position, for example. The gas spring

ensures both comfort and safety.

Protect the LCD unit from heat. Do not position it directly

next to radiators or heaters. Avoid positioning the unit in

direct sunlight. Do not block the LCD unit's ventilation slots.

– Repairs to the LCD unit may only be carried out by

qualiﬁed personnel.

– Disconnect the LCD unit from the power supply in case

of prolonged inactivity.

– If foreign metallic objects or liquids enter the LCD unit,

immediately disconnect the LCD unit from the power

supply. Have the LCD unit checked by qualiﬁed personnel

before using it again.

– After transport, have the device adjusted to the ambient

temperature before putting it into operation.

6 SOFTWARE / MAIN MENU

The SMT consists of an integrated smart tablet which

works with the Android operating system. The SMT user

interface is explained and made clear with the help of

the screens.

If you access the "social networks" rubric, for example,

you will only ﬁnd those apps that connect directly to

social media and networks.

Connection to the Internet is recommended as a ﬁrst step.

This is the only way to ensure app usability. To do this, please

log into a wireless network of your choice.

The SMT is now connected to the Internet and gives you all

the freedom of the “World Wide Web”.

Right area: this area contains 7 different selection options:

WiFi button, Bluetooth button, smart control button for

connection to smartphones, App-TV button for app-based

television, Google Play Store, Internet (Chrome) and the

"delete all data" button. The date and time are located in the

upper right corner.

Middle area: here you will ﬁnd all the pre-installed apps, as

well as the apps you have requested and downloaded from

the Google Play Store.

Left area: there are various tiles underneath the GREINER

logo, which divide the apps from the middle area into spe-

ciﬁc categories. This ensures a good overview of the apps.

After an app is downloaded from the Google Play Store, it is

automatically assigned to a rubric.

The language settings are below the rubrics. This button is

displayed internationally as "language".

The user interface is divided into three areas:

If you want to pair your headphones, smartphone or

smartwatch with the SMT via Bluetooth, click on the

Bluetooth button and select the device to be paired.

If you want to use your smartphone via the SMT (Android)

or have it mirrored (iOS), click on the "smart control" button.

A window will open that will tell you how to connect to your

smartphone. You can use Android devices to operate and

control your smartphone on the SMT. You can view and

mirror your smartphone with iOS devices. The supporting

programme is called TeamViewer: please download the

TeamViewer QuickSupport App on your smartphone –

this app acts as a connection to the SMT, on which the

TeamViewer Connect App is already preinstalled. Now

click "continue" to proceed to the next step.

For trouble-free use, please make sure that the iOS device

has the latest software version.

Now the login to the Google Play Store is recommended.

The SMT works with apps from the Google Play Store,

which the user can download as desired.

Therefore, please log in with an existing account or register

by entering your email address and assigning a password

quickly and securely.

TV on the SMT is controlled by App-TV. If you click on this

button, the Google Play Store will open with the search

criterion "TV" (country speciﬁc search). You can now down-

load individual channels, media libraries, TV apps or pay TV

channels of your choice and access them in the apps on the

start screen.

Please click on the "Chrome" button to access the Internet.

Google will now open in a new window and you will be able

to surf the Internet.

In the next step you will be told that you have to insert

your TeamViewer QuickSupport App's ID (open the app on

your smartphone) into the partner ID ﬁeld of the TeamViewer

App on the SMT.

After you have clicked "start", the TeamViewer App will open

on the SMT and you can insert your smartphone's partner

ID that you previously saw in the TeamViewer QuickSupport

App. Now click on the "remote control" button to use your

smartphone (Android) with the SMT or to mirror iOS on

the SMT. Your smartphone screen is now displayed on the

SMT.

The language settings can be changed by clicking

the "language button". The displayed selection

of language options can be extended by clicking on

the "+ add language" button on the bottom line.

The language selection can be changed by holding down

the desired language and then dragging it to position 1.

During SMT use, personal data is left behind in the form

of downloaded apps or browser histories. Clicking on

the "delete all data" button opens the window shown and

after conﬁrmation all data is deleted from the SMT and

the system will return to factory settings. Simple and safe.

You will be asked again whether you want to reset the data

and delete account information in a separate window.

1 ALLGEMEINES

Der SMT SMART MEDIATABLE ist ein mobiler Beistelltisch

mit integrietem Touchscreen. Er besitzt Schnittstellen zu

TV, WIFI und Smartphone (Android). Diese Gebrauchsan-

weisung (im Weiteren auch Anleitung genannt) gibt Anwen-

dern und Betreibern präzise Hinweise zum sicheren Aufbau

sowie sachgerechten Betrieb des SMART MEDIATABLE

(nachfolgend auch als SMT bezeichnet).

Technische Änderungen, im Rahmen der Weiterentwick-

lung des in dieser Anleitung behandelten Produktes, behal-

ten wir uns ohne Ankündigung vor.

Das Original dieser Anleitung wurde in Deutsch erstellt. Alle

weiteren Sprachen sind Übersetzungen dieser Anleitung.

Gültigkeit

Diese Anleitung gilt nur für das SMT und Zubehör,

welches von der Firma GREINER GmbH (auch abgekürzt

mit GREINER) geliefert wurde.

Entsorgung

Bei der Konstruktion des SMT wurde darauf geachtet,

dass – wenn immer möglich – keine Verbundstoffe zum Ein-

satz kommen. Dieses Konstruktionskonzept erlaubt, nach

Erreichen der Lebensdauer ein hohes Maß an Recycling.

Im Falle einer Verschrottung die verwendeten Metall- und

Kunststoffteile getrennt und fachgerecht entsorgen. Bei

Rückfragen an die örtliche Kommune, lokale Entsorgungs-

unternehmen oder unseren Service wenden. Landesspezi-

ﬁsche Vorschriften zur Entsorgung beachten!

1.1 Lieferumfang SMT SMART MEDIATABLE

Der SMT wird als System in einem Paket geliefert und

besteht aus 1x SMT-BOARD und 1x SMT-CART.

In Kapitel 2 (Montage) wird erklärt, wie beide Komponenten

zum SMT SMART MEDIATABLE werden.

2 MONTAGE

Bitte folgen Sie beim Aufbau des SMT Smart MediaTable

der skizzierten Darstellung Schritt für Schritt.

2. Anschließend wird die Halterung für das seitliche

Tablett von oben an das Mittelteil geschraubt.

1. Das Unterteil wird mithilfe der mitgelieferten

4 Schrauben mit dem Mittelteil verbunden und befestigt.

3. Jetzt folgt die Anbindung des Trägertabletts an das

Mittelteil zum Grundgerüst des aufgebauten SMT-Cart.

4. Nun kann das seitliche Tablett einfach in den Rahmen

„eingeklickt“ werden. Die Installation des SMT-Board

in den SMT-Cart ist in Kapitel 3 (Installation) beschrieben.

Um die Ausrichtung des SMT zu bestimmen (je nachdem,

ob das seitliche Tablett rechts oder links gewünscht ist),

können Sie das SMT-Board in wenigen Schritten ﬂexibel

anpassen:

1. Drehen Sie das SMT-Board in die Vertikale sodass Sie

die Unterseite sehen können.

2. Anschließend mit einem Schraubenzieher an 2 Stellen

die Kabelblende öffnen.

3. Das Kabel liegt nun frei und kann wie gewünscht

entweder auf die rechte oder linke Seite ausgeführt werden.

4. Nun wird die Klappe wieder verschlossen und das

Kabel auf der gewünschten Seite herausgeführt.

5. Anschließend müssen zunächst die vier Befestigungs-

schrauben (siehe Schritt zuvor) wieder gelöst werden

und das SMT-Board vorsichtig aus der Metallvorrichtung

gehoben werden. Das SMT-Board kann nun in die

gewünschte Richtung um 180° gedreht werden. Danach die

Befestigungsschrauben wieder anziehen.

3 INSTALLATION

Im Folgenden wird als letzter Schritt des Aufbaus

die Integration von SMT-Board und SMT-Cart zum

SMT SMART MEDIATABLE beschrieben.

Um das SMT-Board auf das zuvor aufgebaute SMT-Cart zu

befestigen, folgen sie bitte der Skizze.

Heben Sie das SMT-Board vorsichtig in die Metallvorrichtung.

Achten sie darauf, dass der Kabelauslass des SMT-Boards

Richtung SMT-Cart zeigt. Zur kundenspeziﬁsch möglichen

Änderung des Kabelauslasses folgen Sie den Schritten in

Kapitel 3.1.

Nachdem das SMT-Board nun in der Metallvorrichtung liegt,

3.1 AUSRICHTUNG SMT-BOARD (AUF WUNSCH)

Am Kabelaustritt aus dem Kanal

werden die Kabel mit Kabelbinder ﬁxiert,

so dass sie nicht am Boden streifen.

Die leichtgängige Mobilität erhält das SMT durch seine 4

Doppellenkrollen. Diese lassen das SMT an jede gewünsch-

te Stelle fahren. Zum räumlichen Verschieben können die

weißen Griffe als Schiebeelemente dienen.

4 BEDIENUNG

Das Handling des SMT für Pﬂegepersonal und Patienten ist

einfach, sicher und verständlich.

Der SMT besitzt nur 2 relevante Verstellhebel, somit ist die

Bedienung für jeden Benutzer in kürzester Zeit zu erlernen.

Die Hebel sind jeweils an der grauen Mettalllegierung zu

erkennen.

5 SMT-BOARD

Das SMT-Board besteht aus einem integrierten Android

Smart-Tablet, dessen Funktion in Kapitel 5.4 im Detail erläu-

tert wird. Eingefasst ist das Tablet von einer Kunststoffhülle

mit integrierter antibakterieller Oberﬂäche. Der Bildschirm

wird durch eine bruchsichere Mineralglasscheibe geschützt.

Durch Betätigung des Kipp-Hebels am SMT-

Board lässt sich der Neigungswinkel des SMT

leicht verstellen. Hierfür sollte die andere Hand

unterstützend am äußeren Griff des SMT

wirken, um den passenden Winkel einzustellen.

Der SMT kann in horizontaler Lage als

Beistelltisch oder Patiententablett ver-

wendet werden. Ebenso können bereits

verwendete Essenstabletts problemlos

darauf abgestellt werden. Er kann mit

bis zu 30 kg belastet werden.

Der Hebel unter dem Seitentablett aktiviert

die stufenlose vertikale Verstellung nach unten.

Mit sanftem Druck passt sich der SMT der

gewünschten Höhe an. Der eingebaute „Sicher-

heitshöhenhub“, lässt die Höhenverstellung nach

oben ohne Drücken des Hebels mit nur einer

Hand zu (z.B. wenn der Patient in Schocklage

fährt, passt sich der SMT an). Die Gasdruckfeder

sorgt für Komfort und Sicherheit.

6 SOFTWARE / HAUPTMENÜ

Das SMT besteht aus einem integrierten Smart-Tablet

welches mit dem Betriebssystem von Android arbeitet.

Die Benutzeroberﬂäche des SMT wird im Folgenden

anhand der Screens erklärt und verständlich gemacht.

Bedient man beispielsweise die Rubrik „Soziale Netzwerke“,

dann beﬁnden sich hier nur diejenigen Apps, die direkt mit

den Sozialen Medien und Netzwerken verbinden.

Als ersten Schritt wird der Anschluss an das Internet

empfohlen. Nur so wird die App-Benutzung gewährleistet.

Hierfür loggen Sie sich bitte in das von Ihnen vorgesehene

WLAN-Netz ein. Der SMT ist nun mit dem Internet verbunden

und ermöglicht Ihnen alle Freiheiten des „World-Wide-Web“.

Sie den Bildschirm um fortzufahren und zur Oberﬂäche

des Hauptmenüs zu gelangen.

Rechter Bereich: In diesem Bereich beﬁnden sich

7 verschiedene Auswahlmöglichkeiten: WLAN-Button,

Bluetooth-Button, Smart-Control-Button zur Verknüpfung

mit dem Smartphone, App-TV Button zur App-basierten

Fernsehmöglichkeit, Google Play Store, Internet (Chrome)

und den Button „Alle Daten löschen“.

Datum und Uhrzeit beﬁnden sich im rechten oberen Eck.

Mittlerer Bereich: Hier beﬁnden sich die vorinstallierten

Apps, sowie die von Ihnen gewünschten und über den

Google Play Store heruntergeladenen Apps.

Linker Bereich: unterhalb des GREINER-Logos sehen die

unterschiedlichen Kacheln, welche die Apps aus dem

mittleren Bereich in bestimmte Rubriken aufteilt. Somit wird

eine gute Übersicht der Apps gewährleistet. Wird eine

App über den Google Play Store heruntergeladen, wird

diese automatisch einer Rubrik zugeordnet.

Unterhalb der Rubriken beﬁnden sich die Spracheinstel-

lungen. Dieser Button bleibt international als „Language“

stehen.

Die Benutzeroberﬂäche wird in drei Bereiche unterteilt:

Falls Sie Ihre Kopfhörer, das Smartphone oder Ihre Smart-

Watch per Bluetooth mit dem SMT koppeln möchten,

drücken Sie den Bluetooth-Button und wählen Sie das zu

koppelnde Gerät aus.

Wenn Sie Ihr Smartphone über den SMT benutzen (Android)

oder spiegeln (iOS) lassen wollen, drücken Sie auf den

Button „Smart Control“. Es öffnet sich ein Fenster, in dem

Ihnen die Verbindung mit dem Smartphone erklärt wird.

Mit Android-Geräten können Sie Ihr Smartphone auf dem

SMT bedienen und kontrollieren. Mit iOS-Geräten können

Sie sich Ihr Smartphone anzeigen und spiegeln lassen.

Das unterstützende Programm ist TeamViewer: Bitte

laden Sie sich die TeamViewer QuickSupport App auf Ihr

Smartphone – diese App wirkt quasi als Verbindung

zum SMT, auf welchem die Connect-App von TeamViewer

schon vorinstalliert ist. Klicken Sie nun auf „Fortsetzen“

um zum nächsten Schritt zu gelangen. Zur störungsfreien

Benutzung bitte auf den aktuellen Softwarestand des

iOS-Gerätes achten.

Nun wird die Anmeldung im Google Play Store empfohlen.

Der SMT arbeitet mit Apps aus dem Google Play Store,

welche sich der Benutzer wahlweise herunterladen kann.

Daher melden Sie sich bitte mit einem bestehenden Konto

an oder registrieren sich durch Eingabe Ihrer E-Mail Adresse

und Vergabe eines Passwortes schnell und sicher.

Das Fernsehen auf dem SMT wird mithilfe von App-TV

gesteuert. Wenn Sie auf diesen Button drücken, öffnet sich

der Google Play Store mit dem Suchkriterium „TV“ (länder-

speziﬁsche Suche). Sie können nun die einzelnen Sender,

Mediatheken, TV-Apps oder Bezahlfernsehsender Ihrer Wahl

herunterladen und in den Apps der Startoberﬂäche aufrufen.

Um ins Internet zu gelangen, drücken Sie bitte den

„Chrome“ Button. In einem neuen Fenster wird Ihnen

nun Google geöffnet, und Sie haben die Möglichkeit

im Intenet zu surfen.

Im nächsten Schritt wird Ihnen erklärt, dass Sie nun die ID

Ihrer TeamViewer QuickSupport App (hierzu die App auf

Ihrem Smartphone öffnen) in das vorgesehene Partner-ID

Feld der TeamViewer App auf dem SMT einfügen müssen.

Nachdem Sie auf „Start“ gedrückt haben, öffnet sich

die TeamViewer App auf dem SMT und Sie können die

Partner-ID Ihres Smartphones, die sie zuvor in der

TeamViewer QuickSupport App gesehen haben, einfügen.

Drücken Sie nun den Button „Fernsteuerung“, um Ihr Smart-

phone nun auf dem SMT zu benutzen (Android) oder zu

spiegeln (iOS). Der Bildschirm Ihres Smartphone wird Ihnen

nun auf dem SMT angezeigt.
