SAFETY INFORMATION
USE
Failure to comply with these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
The desk is not intended for use by children under the age of 8 years. Older children and/or users
with some disabilities may require supervision.
Do not overload the Leg Columns / Actuators or use the system for lifting persons. Do not sit or
stand on the desk while operating the system.
The desk should only be installed where there no possible risk of personal injury, for example –
the squeezing of fingers or arms, or damage to other adjacent equipment.
If there is visible damage, the desk must not be used and should be isolated from the mains
electrical supply.
Do not use the system in environments other than the intended indoor use.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in the product being damaged or destroyed.
Prior to use, connect the mains cable to a
suitable power supply.
To reduce trip hazards, ensure the exposed
length of cable is less than 2 metres.
The desk will be supplied with the Legs /
Actuators set at their lowest height.

TYPE ‘A’ CONTROL PANEL
TYPE ‘B’ CONTROL PANEL
Ideal for users who only require up & down functions.
Slide the Control Panel forward from beneath the Top to access the
buttons. This can be retracted after use.
As well as the Up and Down functions, this panel can be programmed with three set heights.
The Control Panel is divided into parallel (up & down) & memory drives. The two arrow buttons
are used for parallel drive and the last four buttons for driving / storing memory settings.
The arrow buttons

TYPE ‘C’ CONTROL PANEL
As well as the Up and Down functions, this panel can be programmed with three set heights
and has a digital height display.
The Control Panel is divided into parallel (up & down) & memory drives. The two arrow buttons
are used for parallel drive and the last four buttons for driving / storing memory settings. The end
section is a digital display showing the worksurface height in cm.
Press and hold to move the worksurface up.
Press and hold to move the worksurface
down.
Adjust worksurface to required height. Press
S button and within 2 seconds press one of
the memory buttons (with small dots) to store
this position within that memory button.
Once the positions have been stored into the
memory buttons. The display panel will
acknowledge by showing “1”, “2” or “3”
depending upon the chosen position. They
can now be used.
Press and hold the desired button until the
pre-programmed worksurface height is
reached.
It may be necessary to adjust the displayed
height to match the actual height of the desk.
First lower the worksurface to its lowest point
using the v button. Press ^ and v keys at the
same time, holding them for 5 seconds. The
display should show three minuses (- - - ).
Using the ^ and / or v keys, now adjust the
display to the correct reading:
‘Rise’ – 63cm
‘Rise Lite’ – 72cm
‘Rise Squared’ – 63cm
After adjusting the readout, the system will
return to normal within 5 seconds of inactivity.
The desk can be used as described above.

TYPE ‘E’ CONTROL PANEL
This is a shaped control which is intuitive to use since the mechanism is activated by simply tilting
the panel in the same direction as the desk is intended to drive.
As well as the Up and Down functions, this panel can be programmed with four set heights, can be
controlled with a Bluetooth device, has a digital height display and can be set with ‘reminders’ to
prompt users to adjust the desk.
SIMPLE OPERATION
The Desk Panel is operated by tilting. Tilt and
hold the control panel to make the desk drive
up.
Press and hold the control panel down to
make the desk drive down.
Release the control panel when you have
reached the required position.

STORING MEMORY POSITIONS
The Type ‘E’ Control Panel has a “store memory” button to the right symbolised with a star.
Memory Positions 1 & 2
Adjust the desk to a preferred position and press the “Star” button for 2 seconds. The Light Strip will now
flash white two times to indicate that saving the position is in progress. When the Light Strip becomes
static white, the position is saved. The display will indicate the saved position with a star and the number
of the position. The number inside the star indicates the order according to which the positions are
saved; First position saved; A star with a “1” inside. This is how to save two memory positions “1” & “2”.
If the user adjusts the desk to another position and saves the position, it will overwrite the memory
position 1 or 2 closest to the current position.
Memory Positions 3 & 4
The Type ‘E’ Control panel features 4 memory positions. Pressing the “Star” shortly will make the display
show the 4 memory positions: A “star” with the number next to it. Now the user can toggle through these
4 memory positions in the display and choose which one to save the current position as.
Example:
A user wants to store the current position as memory 3.
• Press the ‘star’ button repeatedly until the ‘star’ with ”3” next to it is displayed.
• Press and hold the ‘star’ button for 2 seconds until the light strip flashes white two times to indicate
the saving process is in progress.
• When the light strip becomes static, the position has been saved and the display will indicate the
position.

ERASE MEMORY POSITIONS
Pressing the “Star” button for 8 seconds will erase all
saved memory positions. The Light Strip will blink
red to indicate when the action is completed.

CONNECTING BLUETOOTH®
Download the free ‘Desk Control App’ suited for your
device in App, Google Play or Windows store. Once
downloaded, the app allows you to pair your device to the
control panel to activated movement wirelessly.
Pressing the “Bluetooth®” button, in the middle for 2
seconds will enable pairing mode. A blue blinking light in
the Light Strip indicates this.
The display on the control panel will show the Bluetooth-ID
of the desk (“DESK” followed by a 4- digit number)
DRIVING TO MEMORY POSITIONS
Once stored, positions can easily be reached simply
by tilting the control panel in the desired direction.
Tilt and hold – when a stored position is reached, the desk
stops moving.
This way, the user can easily change between sitting
and standing without looking at the looking at the
control panel.
When the desk stops at a memory position, either
release the control panel or continue to tilt it to
continue to move the top in the direction required
until another memory position is reached.

REMINDER
The Type ‘E’ control panel has a ‘reminder’ button to
the left symbolised with a bell. Pressing the Bell button will
adjust the interval of how often to get reminders to change
position. The LED will light up in 3 different intensities
which each represents an interval and the 3 standards are:
• Interval 1: Reminder after 55 minutes sitting
• Interval 2: Reminder after 50 minutes sitting
• Interval 3: Reminder after 45 minutes sitting
The default interval chosen is reminding after 55 mins,
which means one white block will be lit up.
Simply toggle through the intervals by pressing the Bell
button.
When no white blocks are lit up, the reminder is
turned off.

It is possible to reset the reminder to default values by pressing the “bell” symbol for 8 seconds.
The light strip will flash red to indicate the action is completed.

LIGHT STRIP REMINDER
The Light Strip is a thin line of LED light shining through the surface of the control panel. The
Light Strip is intended to indicate the status of the desk user. The status depends on the reminder
interval chosen.
When the user is in position in an appropriate amount of time according to the interval, the light
strip calmly pulsates green. When the sitting interval runs out, the clam pulsating green turns into
fast pulsating orange for 1 minute hereafter static orange – this is an indication to the user to adjust
the desk to the standing height. In standing height, the light strip will pulsate green until a potential
timeout. When the desk is adjusted back to the sitting position, the light strip will pulsate green
until the reminder goes off again.
After 4 hours without any action, the Light Strip will timeout. When the control panel is tilted, the
green light will come back on.
Pressing and holding the ‘Memory’ and ‘Reminder’ buttons for 8 seconds will set the control panel
to the factory default. The LED will flash red 3 times. This confirms that any settings changed
directly on the control panel or in the App by the user will be deleted and only the pre-set
configurations will remain.
Pulsating green Light Strip indicates that everything is okay
Pulsating orange Light Strip indicates that the user needs to change position

STORING MEMORY POSITIONS
DISPLAY
The Type ‘E’ control panel has an OLED display, which shows the height during drive of the desk and
many other texts to guide the user.
ADJUSTING THE INITIAL HEIGHT OF THE DESK
When first setting up the desk or if the height shown in the display is incorrect follow these simple steps:
• Drive the desk down to the lowest point by tilting the paddle downwards.
• Press the ‘Reminder – Bell’ and ‘Bluetooth’ buttons on the panel at the same time for 5 seconds.
- The height in the display will start to blink.
• Tilt the paddle will change the display without altering the height of the desk.
- Tilt up to increase the height.
- Tilt down to decrease the height in the display.
• Once the correct height is displayed, press any button to confirm the choice.
• Wait 10 seconds for confirmation to be applied.
• The desk can now be operated with the correct height displayed.

‘Rise Lite’ – 72cm
‘Rise Squared’ – 63cm
SWITCHING BETWEEN CENTIMETRE AND INCH
• Pressing the ‘Memory – Star’ and ‘Bluetooth’ buttons on the control panel at the same time for 5
seconds.
- This will show the current unit of measurement blinking.
• To change – e.g. from centimetres to inches or inches to centimetres, tilt the paddle once.
- The alternative unit of measurement will now be displayed.
• Press any button to confirm the choice.
• Wait 10 seconds for confirmation to be applied.
• The desk can now be operated with the correct unit displayed.
ERROR CODES
The Type ‘E’ control panels shows error codes in case of errors in the system. The most common errors
loop between the error code (EXX) and the cause. Check the codes below and act accordingly:
Where collision or overload has occurred – remove the object preventing full movement. For
initialisation, see the Troubleshooting section.
Desks may have to be disconnected from the mains and re-programmed if errors occur.
If others error codes continue to be displayed or the desk stops functioning, disconnect it from the mains
and contact our Customer Care Department for further information.

BLUETOOTH® ADAPTOR
Download the Linak “Desk Control” app on to your iOS or Android device from the App
Store or Google Play Store – it’s free of charge.
1. Adjust the desk top to its lowest point and disconnect it from the mains supply.
2. Plug the Adaptor into a free port in the Control Box, positioned on the underside of the Top
Panel. (The other port will already be fitted with a cable connected to the Control Panel)
3. Re-connect the to the mains supply.
4. To pair your smart device with the desk, open the app and choose ‘Connect Bluetooth Device’ -
the app will find the desk, if you are close enough and synchronise with it.
5. From the options given, select `Application’ and choose ‘Desk’.
6. You can set a name for the desk (optional). This is to help identify individual items if more than
one desk is paired with the app.
7. For the best results, at the lowest point, set the height level on the app to 64cm / 640mm. Then
when the desk goes up and down, it will register the changes and show this as a dimensional
read-out.
Pre-set heights can now also be recorded / saved in the app to suit frequently used levels.
During use of the simple up / down function or for taking the worksurface to one of the pre-set
heights, the user’s finger has to remain on the appropriate ‘button’. This is to ensure the operator
can see that the desk is safe to use and to avoid unintentional injury.
When the desk is paired with a smart device via the Bluetooth Adaptor, when operating the
Control Panel fitted to the desk, the height readout will be registered and shown in the app.
