Introduction
This document describes the installation procedure for the GSL Solutions IntelliCab and
IntelliVault systems. The IntelliVault is the second generation of a highly automatic pharmacy
workflow management system. The IntelliVault is built to eliminate bundling and picking errors,
monitor inventory, and track the location of individual prescriptions.
July 2019 Edition
General Product Description
The IntelliVault system is a collection of components that improves the efficiency, safety, and
security of front-end pharmacy operations. The cabinet is the main component. This system is
run on IntelliSys software, which interfaces directly with the Pharmacy Management System
(PMS) that is already in use behind the pharmacy counter. The central components of the
IntelliVault / IntelliCab system include a multi-drawer, lockable cabinet and the Cabinet Top
Server (CTS).
Cabinet Top System
The CTS communicates with the Pharmacy Management System (PMS) through IntelliSys
software to retrieve data about the prescription, including user name, drug name, and social
security number. In its database, the CTS links the prescription number with the workflow
basket. Learn more in Installing the CTS.
Additional Cabinets
Some installations involve connecting additional cabinets to the primary cabinet and the CTS.
Learn more in Cabling a Multi-cabinet Installation.
Troubleshooting
As you proceed through the installation, consult the Troubleshooting chapter if necessary.

Locate the CTS box and position it near where it will be raised up onto the primary cabinet.
Bolts for securing the CTS to the cabinet can be found in the back-right corner inside the CTS.
The UPS and servers are in separate boxes.
Anchor straps
It is necessary to install an anchor strap kit, which may be either a security strap kit or a
seismic kit.

Prepare the Installation Area
Remove the packaging that secures the cabinet to the pallet.
Adequate space to install cabinet feet and anchor straps: It will be
necessary to tilt the cabinet about 30 degrees to install the cabinet feet, but it
will be necessary to lay the cabinet onto its backside to install the security
straps.
Ensure that there is enough room in the installation area to tilt the cabinet onto
its backside. Otherwise, it will be necessary to install the feet and anchors in a
larger room prior to moving the cabinet into its final destination in the
pharmacy.
GSL Pallet
It may be best to keep the cabinet on the GSL pallet to move it to the location at which the
anchors and feet will be installed. Remember that this pallet should be returned to GSL when
the installation is complete.
Prior to uncrating
Before uncrating the IntelliVault Gen II System, ensure that the installation site is ready:
·
Ensure the installation site is accessible. The door to the final location must be wide
enough to accommodate the width and height of the cabinet. If necessary, the height of
the cabinet as it sits on the pallet must be considered.
·
The height of the final installation area must accommodate the CTS unit when it is set in
place atop the cabinet.
·
The installation site should have a level floor without carpet.
·
Install the cabinets according to the placement given on the installation diagram.
·
Ensure that 120V AC power is available.
·
Ensure that an active 10Gb network connection is available.

Verify that standard or seismic floor anchors have been installed. The Anchor Straps will
attach to these anchors. Also, see example diagrams in Appendix D - Security Strap Kit
and Appendix E - Seismic Strap Kit.
Prior to moving
Refer to the site-specific installation layout to verify cabinet placement, power and network
connections, et cetera. An example of this diagram can be seen in Appendix F - Sample
Layout Diagram.

Master Cabinet Setup
Setting up the master cabinet involves these steps:
1. Unlock the drawers (if on pallet, the drawers will already be unlocked)
2. Remove the drawers
3. Attach the corner feet
4. Remove cabinet shell from pallet
5. Install the anchor strap kit
6. Move to final location
7. Level the cabinet
Details for each of these steps are given in the sections below.
Refer to the site-specific GSL equipment layout to verify cabinet placement,
power and network connections, et cetera. An example of this diagram can
be seen in Appendix F - Sample GSL Equipment Layout Diagram.
Unlock the drawers
NOTE: Lock motors are only present on IntelliVault cabinets.
Prior to powering on the cabinet, the drawers are not locked. At shipment, the lock motor cams
are manually turned to the unlock position. When the cabinet receives power, the lock motor
cams will automatically move to a locked position. If you don't power on the cabinet, the
drawers remain unlocked.
Override handle: If you do power on the cabinet, the drawers will lock, and
you will need to pull the override handle. The override handle is locked when
the key slot is in the vertical position.

To unlock the override handle, insert the key and rotate it clockwise so that the slot is in the
horizontal position. Then, pull the handle outward until the override catch engages to unlock the
drawers.
For Intellicab: There is no handle. There's only a key, which locks the anti-tilt mechanism and
locks all drawers. If unlocked, then only one drawer may be open at a time.
Removing the drawers
The cabinet is heavy, and extremely heavy with the drawers inside. You must
remove all of the drawers from the cabinet, one drawer at a time, before
installing the feet and the straps.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that only one drawer is open at a time. The weight of
a drawer is comparable to the cabinet itself, so opening two or more drawers
at a time can be very dangerous. The cabinet may tip forward, so be watchful
of this when removing a drawer. During normal operation, the UltraTrack

permits only allows one drawer to be open at a time. However, this is not the
case during installation. Though it is possible to open all drawers
simultaneously, it must be diligently avoided.
Each drawer is heavy, so the drawers should be removed and remain outside
of the cabinet until the cabinet is put into its final position and leveled.
Leave the cabinet on the pallet until the time comes to move it into its final
position at the installation site.
During the removal of each drawer: To aid in reinstallation, use tape to label
each drawer with its parent cabinet and position.
PRIOR to opening the drawers: Ensure that there is enough flat floor space on
which to remove, maneuver, and place the four large vertical drawers.
Follow these steps to remove the drawers:
1. Open drawer in order to remove the shipping block from its upper slide channel.

drawer.

drawer and on its center line. Line up the front face of the drawer with the flat to angled
transition on the top of the drawer dolly.

Be mindful of the network cable that is hanging from the bottom of the drawer. It
will incur damage if you step on it or dropping a drawer edge onto it.
·
Place each drawer on a location where it won't tip over. A slight nudge can easily
tip over a drawer and cause damage.
10. Set the front of the drawer into the saddle of the drawer dolly. Support the drawer with
one hand on the drawer handle and one hand holding the rear of the drawer.

12. Repeat these steps for any remaining in the cabinet.s
Attach the corner feet
Cabinet feet can be installed by tipping the cabinet first backward and them
forward 30°, but it is necessary to lay the cabinet onto its backside to install the
security straps. Ensure that you have adequate room to perform these steps.
Follow these steps to attach the feet:
1. Because the interconnect box is suspended beneath the cabinet, it is necessary to leave
the cabinet on the pallet while installing the feet.
2. Ensure that you have enough space to tilt the cabinet about 30 degrees backward and
forward.
3. Remove all washers and nuts from each foot.
