TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

This DOCS multiswitch SDIE 516 (DOCS = DIGITAL ONE CABLE SOLUTION)
is specially programmed to allow multi satellite reception at a GSS.lamina
or GSS.compact with SAT inputs. The multiswitch has 4 satellite inputs
universal satellite IF bands (VL, HL, VH, and HH) from a satellite feed and
can as cascade . The multiswitch SDIE 516 is powered by an external power
supply. Communication between the multiswitch SDIE 516 and the connected
head-end station is in accordance with EN 50607.
• Installation and service must be carried out by qualified electricians.
• Before starting, check the system for short circuits of coaxial cables.
• Before installation, disconnect the system from the mains (230 V).
• Mount the multi-switch ...
- on a fire retardant surface (wall),
- in a dust-free, dry environment,
- protected against moisture, vapors, splash water and moisture,
- in a place protected against direct sunlight,
- not in the immediate vicinity of heat sources,
• Pay attention to equal input levels of the SAT levels.
• Avoid short circuits!
• Damage due to incorrect connection and / or improper handling are

CONNECTION PLAN
The small DOCS multiswitch SDIE 516 is housed in a rugged aluminum
die-cast case and is easy to cascade. The housing has integrated Potential
equalization and, with sufficient clearance, ensures good ventilation as
well as easy installation. The supplied power supply can be connected
directly to the multiswitch SDIE 516. High quality connections ensure
consistently high reception characteristics.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Use coaxial cables of high quality for the connections, which have been
developed for satellite reception and F connections and have a shielding
factor of min. have 90 dB.

Establish Potential equalization (PA) according to IEC/EN/DIN
EN 60728. Connect the connections for PA compensation of the
multiswitch via a PA cable (Cu 5 mm²) to the on-site PA bar.

CONNECTION PLAN
Connect the cables of the Quattro LNB to the inputs from multiswitch.
At Output you have 16 User bands for connection to a head-end input
available.
Unused outputs must be connected with galvanically isolated 75 Ω
Resistors (FTD 75).

CONNECTION TO HEAD-END STATION
Select "Unicable II" in the input menu of the head-end station. The inputs
of the head-end are set to the Unicable frequencies of the multiswitch.
Thus, you can receive a satellite with 4 levels (VL, HL, VH, HH) for each
input to which you connect an DOCS multiswitch SDIE 516. 16 user bands
are available at output 1 (OUT 1).

USER BANDS PROGRAMMING
The DOCS multiswitch SDIE 516 has been specially programmed to allow
multisatellite reception on a
GSS.lamina or GSS.compact
head-end with SAT inputs.
The frequencies of the user bands are programmed to the input settings
of the Unicable II option of the head-end stations.
The following figure shows the factory-set values.
The following 16 user bands are available at output 1 (OUT 1) :
