How it works:
The Transmitter:
TheOperatingVoltagefortheTransmitteris3Vfromtwobatteries(LR14C1.5V)insidetheTransmitter.
ThereisnoPowerSwitchforthisunit.Oncethebatteriesareinstalled,theunitstartstofunction.
The Receiver:
TheReceiverispoweredbyexternalPowerAdaptor(AC120V60Hz/DC12V100mA).Arotaryswitchcontrols
thealertbuzzer’svolumeonthereceiver.TherearethreeLEDsonthefrontPanelofcabinet,representingPower
(red),VisitorAlert(green)andLowBattery(red).A“RESET”buttoninblackonFrontPanelisusedtoclearthe
alertLEDafteritregisteredpassingvehicles.

Above is a typical location that a transmitter would be placed
in order to be effective for the application.
Installation Overview
• DeterminetheoptimumlocationfortheVEHICLESENSORusingtheinformationfoundaboveinthe“Installation
Overview”.Theoptimalpositionforthesensor/transmitterissuggestedat18inchtallfromgroundsurface.
Thereceiverisalsorecommendedtobeplacedatabout3feetabovetheoorsurface.NeithertheTransmitter
northeReceivershouldbeplacednearanymetalparts.
IMPORTANT: Clear an area 20 feet in all directions of metal tools, toys and automobiles, to prevent magnetic disturbance
during testing and installation.

Determining Transmitter and Receiver Location
For Optimum Performance:
•LocatetheTRANSMITTERasfaraspossibleawayfrompowertransformers,powerlines,
undergroundgasline,andtelephonelines.
•LocatetheTRANSMITTERawayfromgeneralmovingtrafctopreventunwantedactivation.
RememberthattheTRANSMITTERdetectsMAGNETICDISTURBANCEScausedbyavehicle’s
massandvelocity.
NOTE: Place the transmitter immediately next to the driveway
to maximize the range.

• TheTransmitterisplacedimmediatelynexttothedriveway,soitcanmaximallycoverthedrivewaycondition.
WhenacarpassesinfrontoftheTransmitter,astringofdataistransmittedtoitsReceiverbymeansof
433MHzCarrierFrequency.ItisofAmplitudeShiftKeying(ASK)type.Afterreceivingthedata,theBuzzer
wouldgive“Beep”twice,andtheVisitAlertLED(green)wouldash3timesandremainlitup,untiltheRESET
buttonispressed.
WhentheLowBatteryLED(red)lightsup,the2xCsizedbatteriesinthetransmittershouldbereplacedASAP.

Panelwilllightup,andtherewillbeaconrmation“Beep”tone.

However,thereisnoguaranteethatinterferencewillnotoccurinparticularinstallations.Ifthisequipment
doescauseharmfulinterferencetoradioortelevisionreception,whichcanbedeterminedbyturning
theequipmentoffandon,theuserisencouragedtotrytocorrecttheinterferencebyoneormoreofthe
followingmeasures:•Reorientorreplacethereceiverantenna.•Increasetheseparationbetweenthe
equipmentandthereceiver.•Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdifferentfromthattowhich
thereceiverisconnected.•Consultthedealeroranexperiencedradio/TVtechnicianforhelp.

GTO,Inc.,gateopenersandaccessoriesarecoveredunderwarrantybythemanufactureragainstdefectsinmaterials
andmanufacturerworkmanshipforaperiodofone(1)yearfromdateofpurchase,provided the recommended installation
procedures have been followed.
Inthecaseofproductfailureduetodefectivematerialormanufacturerworkmanshipwithintheone(1)yearwarranty
period,theproductwillberepairedorreplaced(atthemanufacturer’soption)atnochargetothecustomer,ifreturned
freightprepaidtoGTO,Inc.,3121HartseldRoad,Tallahassee,Florida,USA32303.IMPORTANT: Call (800) 543-1236 for
a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number before returning accessory to factory. Productsreceivedatthefactory
withoutanRGAnumberwillnotbeaccepted.Replacementorrepairedpartsarecoveredbythiswarrantyfortheremainder
oftheone(1)yearwarrantyperiodorsix(6)months,whicheverisgreater.GTO,Inc.willpaytheshippingcharges(equalto
UnitedParcelServiceGROUNDrate)forreturntotheownerofitemsrepairedunderwarranty.
Themanufacturerwillnotberesponsibleforanychargesordamagesincurredintheremovalofthedefectivepartsforrepair,
orforthereinstallationofthosepartsafterrepair.Thiswarrantyshallbeconsideredvoidifdamagetotheproduct(s)wasdue
toimproperinstallationoruse,connectiontoanimproperpowersource,orifdamagewascausedbylightning,wind,re,
ood,insectsorothernaturalagent.
Aftertheone(1)yearwarrantyperiod,GTO,Inc.willmakeanynecessaryrepairsforanominalfee.CallGTOat(800)
543-1236formoreinformation.Thiswarrantygivesyouspeciclegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveotherrightswhich
mayvaryfromstatetostate.Thiswarrantyisinlieuofallotherwarranties,expressedorimplied.NOTE: Verification of the
warranty period requires copies of receipts or other proof of purchase. Please retain these records.
