Caution: Open the Media Player carefully.
The following accessories should be inside:
One Media Player
One AC adaptor (DC output)
One cable - yellow, white and red cable and connectors.
One HDMI cable (for later use to enable HD TV)
One Infrared remote control
Two batteries
One user manual

Product Installation Guide
Setup Environment & Requirements
System requirements
You need the following:
A broadband Internet modem and service (Goalnet)
A television set with video and audio inputs
Setup environment
Setup the system following the procedures described in this manual
Place the Media Player as far away as possible from any heat source
Do not put the Media Player in dirty or humid place.
Hardware Setup Procedures
Caution:
Before making any connections, make sure that the Media Player and any other
equipment is disconnected from theAC Power and that you hands are dry.
Do not re-plug in the equipment until you have completed all the connections.
The connectors of all video/audio cables supplied are colour coded with the jacks of
related equipment. When connecting, make sure that the colours are matched.
Proper physical connection is important, so be sure to insert the plug completely.
Audio and Video Connections
Use the supplied Video (Yellow) cable to connect the Video (Yellow) output of the
Media Player to the Video (Yellow) input of the TV.
Use the supplied Red Audio cable to connect the Audio Right (Red) output of the
Media Player to the RightAudio input (Red) of the TV.
Use the supplied White Audio cable to connect the Audio Left (White) output of the
Media Player to the LeftAudio input (White or Black) of the TV.

Network Connection
In order to connect the Media Player to your Internet Modem, (which is probably
located elsewhere in your home), insert the supplied Ethernet cable into the input
port of the Media Player and connect in accordance with one of the following
options:
oTo a GTS Modem (if you are on a GTS PLC network)
oTo GTS 2minLAN Adapter (if you are on GTS fibre network, or usingADSLor if
you are using a wireless modem)
oTo a RJ45 network point in the wall (if you have instated Cat 5 cabling and you
are on GTS fibre network, or on ADSL or if you are using a wireless modem)
Power Supply Connection
Connect the DC power supply output plug to the DC-IN Jack on the rear panel of the
Media Player and connect theAC power supply plug to a plug point.

Search
Search according to number or alphabet within all genres via three
possibilities - Actor, Title or Director.

Parental Control (“My Account”)
You can set the Parental Control according to a range of age restrictions.
If you block the “Adult” level, the Adult genre will not appear as a genre in the Second row of your
screen under the movie menu. This also means that no Adult movie covers will be shown
anywhere on your gVoD TV pages.
In order to browse adult movies and download them, you need to select the “Adult” Level. If you
have downloaded any Adult movies they will only appear on the Playlist if you have selected the
“Adult” Level. These movies will not appear on the Playlist if you have blocked the “Adult”
Level.
You can also set and manage passwords in the “My Account” Section. There are two
passwords:
Commercial - for making payments
My Account –to access your account, set parental control and change passwords
Browse Movies
From the Movie Menu you can select a particular genre, such as Action or Comedy, and then search
for a movie or music within the selected genre. You can also search for a movie via Title, Director or
Actor across all genres on the Search Bar at the bottom of the Home Page.
You can also browse the Forthcoming Attractions. These films are not yet available for downloading
when they are listed in this Section. These movies will be obtainable on a future date, as specified
under the movie details.
Press the “↑”; “↓”; “” or “” keys on the Remote Control to navigate to the section you want and
then press the Enter Key to select a function.
Downloading a movie
Select the movie you wish to download by pressing the Enter Key on the Remote Control.
If the display “Not yet available” appears, it is a ForthcomingAttraction, and will only be
available at a later stage.
If the movie you select has a Rental of R 0.00, then you can download it for no charge and keep it
as long as you wish on your Media Player, as it forms part of your free subscription content, by
selecting “Rent” or “Buy”.
Should you wish to rent a movie that is not part of your subscription content, or buy a film to keep
indefinitely on your Media Player, then you need to top-up your account first (if you have not done
so already). Once you have selected a movie for downloading by selecting “Rent” or “Buy”,you
will be in the “My Cart”Section where you can perform any of the following actions:
See how much space you have on your hard drive
see your remaining balance;
top-up if necessary (you will automatically be directed to the “My Account” Section;

rent or buy further movies; and
or proceed with a transaction by selecting “Checkout” (if you have sufficient funds in your
account or if you have selected a subscription movie at R0.00)
Once you have selected “Checkout”, you will be asked to enter your Commercial Password,
which will direct you to the “Playlist” Section.
If you are downloading more than one movie at the same time, you can change the priority of a
particular movie by selecting the Up Arrow on the Screen next to the Movie and it will download
before other movies that are listed below it. If you delete a movie that is busy downloading, you
will not be able to view it. If you have paid for a deleted movie, you will not be able to reverse the
transaction.
View movies (“Playlist”)
Once you have downloaded a movie you can view it by accessing it via the “Playlist” Section.
The Playlist is organised in three categories:
My movies (films you have purchased to keep)
Rentals (films you have rented that will expire after your first play at a future date as
indicated on “Playlist”)
Download status (Shows movies that are busy downloading)
Select the movie you would like to view with the arrow and the enter keys.
You can use the Play, Stop, Pause, Fast Forward and Rewind keys on the Remote Control to

manage your viewing experience. There are also icons on the screen that can be used to do the
same. If you would like to Fast Forward or Rewind to a specific position of the movie, use the
Right Arrow to determine where you would like to move to and then press the Enter Key on the
Remote Control.
In the Playlist Section you can also delete a movie to free up your hard disk space, by selecting
the red arrow in the relevant movie row. You can also view details such as age restriction, actors,
directors and a synopsis of the movie by selecting the “i” button.
You can also view movies from the Playlist when your Internet connection is temporarily down.
Mall Section
When this Section is available it will enable you to view instructive documentaries on various
topics, such as various “how to”subjects, travel programmes to breathtaking destinations,
etc. This is sponsored content which will be available for viewing at no charge, as it will be
provided by retailers and service providers.
There will also be many special offers and competitions available on the Mall Section.
Help Section
In the “Help Section” you will be able to find help in two different ways. There will be a Help
function in relation to the specific page you are on at the time and there will be a Help Menu
where you will be able to go to all other gVoD help topics.
The User Manual is also available on the Help Section and on the GTS website, should you
wish to re-print a copy thereof. Please go to www.goal.co.za
You can also view a number of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) on the Help Section.
Configuration/Setup

The Media Player is pre-configured by GTS and any software updates will be carried out by
GTS. Please do not change any configuration parameters. Any error operation may
lead to system failure.
In order to view your Setup settings, press the “Setup” Key on the Remote Control, then select
Info and then select “System” Button.
Select “Homepage”to return to the gVoD Home Page.
Reboot
Should you make any configuration amendments, you will need to reboot the Media Player to
enable the changes to take effect. Please move the cursor to the “Reboot” button and confirm it
to reboot the Media Player.
The new configuration will load after the system is restarted.

Trouble Shooting
All LEDs on the front panel are not lighted.
No power, please check the AC and DC power connections.
Blank screen
No signal available in this channel, please try another channel.
Connections are poor or loose - please check the Yellow Video connection and the
Ethernet.
Remote control failure
Low battery - please change batteries.
The remote control is operating out of its range –move closer to the Media Player or
position yourself directly in front of the Media Player
Picture jamming or mosaic
Low data rate - please wait or view other programs.
Bad network connection - please check the network connection and re-connect to
make sure.
Video source problem - please wait or view other programs.
Strange sound or asynchronous video and audio
Low data rate - please wait or view other programs.
Video source problem - please wait or view other programs.
Video working without sound
Audio cable connection problem - please check the audio cable connection and
re-connect it.
Media Player or TV was muted - please cancel the mute of the Media Player or TV.
Video source problem - please wait or view other programs.
Sound working without video
Video cable connection problem - please check the video cable connection and
re-connect it.
