Expert Power Protector 1020-6 for 15 amps (A) can be
plugged into a standard 3-wire 120 VAC outlet. Up to 15 A
can be drawn from any outlet, the total current draw for
the product is at 15 A. Expert Power Protector 1020-7 is for
use with 20 A circuits that have 20 A.
4. Ten Year Limited Warranty
We warrant this product to be free from defects in material
and workmanship under normal service conditions for
a period of 10 years. Our obligation is limited to repair
or replacement parts, or entire units of comparable or
better model, at our sole discretion, which are found to
be defective. This warranty does not apply to products
which have been damaged by negligence, accident,
misapplication, or have been repaired or modified by
anyone other than the original manufacturer.

1. Installation instructions
Plug the device directly into a standard 3-wire 120 VAC
receptacle. The unit does not rely on the ground circuit
for eective surge protection but proper grounding at
the service entrance must exist. The status LED shines
constantly green when unit is receiving power. If you have
any questions about your electrical environment, contact
your local electrician.
2. Safety instructions
• Use only properly polarized outlets. If you are not sure
of the outlet or have a question, please contact an
electrician before plugging in the unit.
• Do not place product on a wet area or touch the unit
when you are wet. If product becomes wet, you must
cut o power to the unit immediately.
• Install in a secure location that avoids passage ways,
doorways, steps or areas not protected from trac.
Make sure all cords are securely wrapped and out of the
way of trac or other objects to avoid cord damage and
protect against abrasion.
• Do not use a surge protector in conjunction with the unit.
• This unit is not recommended for applications with large
compressors (i.e., refrigerators, air conditioners) due to
their high start-up current.
• Do not plug in/near any heat producing equipment
(radiators, stoves, heaters, etc.).
• Always connect product directly into the wall receptacle.
Do not plug the unit into a uninterruptible power supply
(UPS). When using an UPS, plug the UPS into the GUDE

• Outlet terminals have voltage on them.
• Disconnect power cord from the product prior to
servicing the load equipment or the power cord.
• Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to

malfunctions of the product will result in a malfunction
or significant or significantly impair the safety or
performance of the life support device.
