Precautions
• Disconnect battery from vehicle
• When disconnecting battery be sure to remove the
chassis connection (earth / ground) before the battery
connection. When reconnecting, the battery terminal
not connected to the chassis has to be connected
first, followed by the earth / ground terminal.
• If possible remove battery from vehicle to avoid
splashing of acid onto the body engine parts
• Battery charging should be carried out in a well
ventilated room
• Do not use outside in wet weather conditions
• If the battery has cell filler caps, remove all of these
to allow gases to escape whilst charging
• Make sure level of fluid is correct before charging
• Wear full protection

BATTERY CHARGER 1
ALTERNATIVE PRODUCT:
GUNSON G4126 OR G4138
Specification
Input 240v AC 50Hz/15w
Output 6v DC 1.5A RMS (EFF) 1.0A DC (ARITH
Continuous12v DC 1.2A RMS (EFF) 0.8A DC (ARITH)
Continuous Recommended minimum battery
capacity 6Ah
Sealed batteries
Low maintenance or maintenance free batteries have
cells with no filler caps and therefore not intended to be
topped up.
It is important with these batteries that they are not
allowed to gas (or bubble) as this will reduce the level
of electrolyte.
Gassing commences at approximately 14.1volts for a
12volt battery and 7.05 volts for a 6volt battery.
It is therefore important the voltage is kept below
this voltage.
Instructions
1. Ensure the charger is not plugged in at the mains switch
2. Connect the positive (+ Red) to the battery
positive terminal (+)
3. Attach the negative (- Black) to the battery
negative terminal (-)
4. Select the correct voltage on the battery
charger 6v or 12v
5. Plug in the battery charger and turn on the mains
6. If a click is heard soon after the connection then
this means the automatic cut-out has found
a connection error
Disconnecting
1. When charging is complete, switch off at mains
first and remove the plug
2. Check the level of electrolyte in each cell and top
up if necessary
3. Wipe over the battery with a damp cloth to
remove any acid
4. Replace battery in vehicle
5. Clean battery terminals with wire brush if
necessary and re-connect
6. A thin film of Vaseline or suitable corrosion
preventative will maintain connectors
7. Replace all protective boot covers
