Dear customer
Thank you for having chosen a HÆGER product.
The HÆGER products have been produced to think about the welfare of the
consumer privileging the most raised standards of quality, functionality and
assign. We are sure you will be happy with this appliance.
We assume that the user is familiar with the common procedures of handling
household appliances.
Before using the appliance for the first time please read carefully and
thoroughly through these operating instructions and the safety advice,
completely familiarising yourself with the appliance. Retain these instructions for
future reference and pass them on to whoever might acquire the appliance at
a future date.
Intended use
This wine opener is intended exclusively for the uncorking of standard bottles of
wine. This device is not suitable for removing/opening other types of closures on
bottles, such as crown caps or screw caps.
It is intended for use in private households only. Do not use it commercially.
This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those
mentioned. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will
not be accepted.
General Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:
•Before use, check the appliance for signs of external damage. Do not put
into operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.
•This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with
restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiencies in
experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person
responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the
appliance is to be used.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
•Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist companies or by
our Customer Service department. Incompetent repairs can result in
significant risks for the user. In addition, warranty claims become void.

•NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Risk of electric
shock!
•NEVER grasp the appliance with wet or moist hands. There is a risk of
receiving an electric shock!
•UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you continue to use the charger if
damage to it is visible.
•Do not set the corkscrew and the charger up in damp environments. If you
do, moisture could penetrate into the corkscrew or the charger. There will
then be a risk of electric shock!
•Do not place the corkscrew or the charger in the immediate vicinity of
water, e.g. by bathtubs or swimming pools. Ensure that no liquids can
permeate into the corkscrew/the charger when it is in use.
•UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you clean the corkscrew and charger by
placing them in, or holding them under, water! If you do, there is the risk of
receiving an electric shock!
•To charge the corkscrew, use only the supplied charger station with the
supplied charge supply device. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you use
the charger to charge other appliances. Otherwise, the corkscrew, the
charger and its charge supply device plus the appliance being charged
could be damaged beyond repair. There would then be the danger of
receiving an electric shock and/or causing a fire!
•Connect the appliance only to correctly installed and earthed mains power
sockets. Otherwise, there is the great risk of receiving an electric shock.
•Do not place the corkscrew and the charging station at locations which are
exposed to direct solar radiation. Doing so may cause the corkscrew or the
charging station to overheat and become irreparably damaged. There is
also the risk of fire!
•Do not place the corkscrew and the charger in the immediate vicinity of
sources of heat. This includes ovens, heating fans and similar appliances as
well as ventilation openings of other electronic appliances. Do not place
open flame sources - such as burning candles - in the immediate vicinity of
the corkscrew and charger. Doing so may cause the corkscrew or the
charging station to become irreparably damaged. There is also the risk of
fire!
CAUTION: Corkscrew is sharp. Handle carefully. Keep hands and utensils out of
the container while operating to prevent the possibility of severe personal injury
and/or damage to the product or property.

Overview of the components

Before Use
1. Take the corkscrew, the charging station, the foil cutter and the power
adaptor out of the carton and remove all packaging material.
2. Place the foil cutter into the storage compartment under the charging
station.
3. Connect the power adaptor to the charging station by inserting the plug
into the socket on the rear of the charging station.
4. Place the charging station on a level, scratch-resistant and slip-free surface.
5. Insert the power adaptor into a mains power socket.
6. The corkscrew contains batteries that have to be recharged via the
charger. Therefore, the corkscrew itself requires no power cable. To charge
the corkscrew, place it in the charger.
7. Let the corkscrew stand for the 10 hours before using it, so that it becomes
fully charged. After this period, the corkscrew is ready for use.
NOTE:
When inserting the corkscrew into the charging station, it must:
–have its opening facing down,
–have the arrow on the corkscrew pointing to the marker line on the charging
station.
To operate your electric wine opener
The electric wine opener is operated by one single switch. The switch has two
functions:
–Press the lower part of the switch to remove a cork from a bottle.
–Press the upper part of the switch to release a cork from the mechanism
after you have removed from the bottle. (see Fig.1)
Before removing the cork, you must remove any foil from the bottle using the foil
cutter provided. (see Fig.2)
1. Place the electric wine opener on top of the wine bottle making sure that it
remains as upright as possible at all times. If you hold the electric wine
opener at an angle to the bottle it will not remove the cork properly. (Fig. 3)
