Warranty
Hagerman Technology LLC warrants this product free of defects in materials and
workmanship for a period of 10 years. If you discover a defect, Hagerman
Technology LLC will, at its option, repair or replace the product at no charge to you
provided you return it during the warranty period, transportation charges prepaid to
Hagerman Technology LLC. This warranty does not apply if the product has been
damaged by negligence, accident, abuse or misuse or misapplication, has been
damaged because it has been improperly connected to other equipment or has been
modified without the express written permission of Hagerman Technology LLC. This
warranty is limited to the replacement or repair of this product and not to damage to
equipment of other manufacturers. Any applicable implied warranties, including
warranty of merchantability, are limited in duration to a period of the express
warranty as provided herein beginning with the original date of purchase and no
warranties, whether express or implied shall apply to the product thereafter. Under
no circumstances shall Hagerman Technology LLC be liable for any loss, direct,

Description
The Archiver is an extremely flexible phonostage that offers variable loading, gain,
equalization, and polarity. It includes a gain trim and built-in digitizer with USB
output for easy recording to computer. The open-frame rack mount chassis is
perfect for studio, library, or professional use. There are both mono and stereo
inputs, outputs are balanced XLR.
The circuitry employs discrete matched JFETs in a differential configuration for both
low noise and low distortion. No opamps or feedback are used.

Operation
Connect the ground lead from your turntable to the ground lug on the rear panel.
Connect the phono leads to the input jacks. The output jacks connect to your audio
system or linestage. Set the front panel select switches to their appropriate settings.
RIAA equalization is indicated by the dots. The “0” position on the PHASE switch is
mute. SENSITIVITY should be set to match your cartridge’s output level. LOADING
is adjusted to taste (use 47k for MM).
For recording, connect the USB cable to your PC. Visit the software installation and
configuration page at www.hagtech.com/setup.html.
Recording
To record an LP, run the recording program (such as audacity) on the PC. Start
playing the LP, and adjust the LEVEL control for best recording level. Reset the
recording, start the LP over and rip a track. For playback, the select switch is
switched to digital mode.

Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
Power LED off. Unit not plugged in? Switch off?
No sound. Check INPUT and PHASE switches.
Audio stops or “tics” are
present.
Too many devices on the USB bus?
DAC does not accept signal. Check compatibility. Ripper plays 32k, 44.1k, and
48k sample rates. Computer software can be
configured to resample to other data rates.
